RE: H9-F6F Hellcat 60 ARF
With the Sierra Precision do you have to cut the main spar in the Hangar 9 Hellcat? Like to see some install pictures if someone following this forum has done it. Thanks

I have a 60 size Hangar 9 Corsair and the Hellcat. Both are waiting for 100 degree rotating retracts. Between da rock & I that is 4 sets. LADO. money in hand. On another note I wish your PCB boards were priced so we could upgrade some of our older sets of retracts to programable. dawhale

Attached is a picture of how carbon fiber sheeting was used to fabricat "U" shaped pieces which connects the upper and lower spars for reinforcement.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
I am interested in the LADO oleo struts but have not been able to talk with someone who has tried them. Robart has the steel insert. Does LADO have a steel insert or are they all aluminum? Concerned about stripping the set screw thread. From the pictures I see online the struts appear tapped at the top twice but not lined up. looked to be 90 degrees to each other meaning two flat spots may be required on the wire strut. Why is Magnums stock zerro? Are they flying off the shelf? So many questions.

da Rock, what thickness of carbon fiber did you use and where did you buy it? Good job on the picture. I understand how you reinforced the spar. Still hate to cut it.

da Rock, some posts back you said you were going to post a picture of the reinforcing job you did when you cut the bottom of the main spar to install your LADO's. I was unable to find the post / picture. If not already could you share a picture of your mod? I was installing LADO's today and realizied I am going to have to cut the spar.

RE: Help Removing Broken Tap in Robart Strut
I bought the tap as a package at Home Depot. Irwin Hanson # 36 bit and a #6-32 tap. I was tapping a 3/8" Robart strut. I am guilty of not using any lube. As suggested above I did run the tap through one side and the strut. Contacted the oppisite strut wall and it broke. Because of the size material I am working with I think I should consider this incident a lesson learned. I have another new strut I am working on this morning. I still may be able to complete my build and sneak out to the flying field in the morning before the family gets up and fly my Mustang. Thank you for your feedback. Have a great christmass.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
Gentlemen, I am a newbie needing a little help. I just bought two sets of LADO retracts. One is for my Hangar 9 Hellcat. The other is for my Hangar 9 P-51 Mustang. Little confused as to what to buy, struts, in order to install wheels. How are you folks doing it? I bought the 5mm wire legs and wire leg adapters. My Hangar 9 wheels are not going to work on these adapters. I have not been able to find much info out their.

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?
I have just received two sets of LADO retracts RS 333-RB & RS 333-85. Both say Rev D. What voltage are they good for? I also got 5mm struts and wire wheel adapters. The axles are to short and large in diameter for my Hangar 9 wheels. What Axel will allow me to use my Hangar 9 wheels?

RE: Electric Retracts From E-flite
A little LADO retract info for those considering them. I reserched LADO's history and found they had new owners and have worked to clear up the back log. I placed my order on 11/3. I bought two sets , one 85 degree and one set of rotating. I was just notified they were shipped today, 11/14, and was povided a tracking number. To those concened about the money I belive I paid via Paypal in US dollars. I asked before I paid when I could expect shipment and they have met the time line. After I get them I will update this Forum as to how they function.
