RE: Help!!!!! I have a DX6i problem that we cant figure out.
The resistance of the switch harness must be droping the battery voltage down to below the normal operating voltage for the receiver try another switch harness with thicker leads. . Also some servos will not work properly on a y lead with some recievers the pulse amplitude on some recievers is lower than normal & two servos on one output reduces the signal at the end of the lead so as to be insufficent for the servo to function.

RE: What is this on my DX8
I've seen this type of thing many times having worked in the electronics industry for close on 40 years & the corrosion on your board is due to the board having been exposed to moisture maybe even spillage . But it looks like it will clean uop ok with some alcohol. Dave

Hello Futaba forgotten 12fg user here
How about a much awaited software upgrade for the 12fg radio that includes stick calibration like the 8fg had ages ago . It seems to me that 12fg owners are being ignored in favour of the cheaper 8fg TX we paid good money for the 12fg & a few useful upgrades would be much appreciated last updated software was in March & that just had some gyro software updates. RE: Jr 10X Transmitter Battery Problem.
I can't belive that anyone would fly whilst relying on the spring connections in a TX the first thing I do with any Tx is to make a soldered connection to the battery via a plug & socket for battery removal

RE: Futaba 12FG - is it worth it to upgrade to Li-po
Yes it is worth putting a Lipo in a 12fg the current draw on a 12fg is a lot greater than the 8fg around 500mA so you will only get around 3hrs if the Rf is on. There is no risk to the electronics apart from fire risk but everyone has Lipos in laptops!! . The voltage on a fully charged 2 cell lipo is 8.4v exactly the same as the nimh supplied even the low voltage cut off works don't forget the 12fg has more of less the same software as the 14mz & 12z radios & they both use lipos. Futaba aren't keen on you fitting one because the price of a replacement 1700mA nimh is ridiculous. I have used a lipo for over 2 years. Dave

RE: New 8FG Software V4.0!
I agree with the sentiments stated at the begining of this post & would like to add that I am anoyed that Futaba seems to have forgoten the 12fg & seems to only be concerned with only supporting the 8fg radio the last software update was only some gyro software update no stick calibration or anything useful for most people ,come on Futaba we paid quite a bit for the 12fg lets see some proper software updates.

RE: Spektrum and Lightning
FM is not higher in the frequency band it is merely a type of modulation were the modulation or data signal changes the frequency of the carrier signal in sympathy with the data were as Am changes the amplitude of the carrier signal in sympathy with the data signal. It is true that Fm is more immune to electrical interference as most electrical noise appears as spikes on an Am signal & so can corrupt the data signal on Fm the signal is clipped & so losses most of the noise element. As regards 2.4ghz signals ,2.4ghz is in theory out side the frequency range of electrical noise which is about 700mhz so should be immune to lightning interference . Dave

RE: Futaba PCM failed-This never happened before
I have had a fault on two of thoese Rx's causeing them to be completely dead it's a small choke that looks in appearance to a resistor that goes open circuit the choke feeds the 5v from one board to the other I can't be more specific because I no longer have any of those RX's as I only fly 2.4ghz now but the fault is easy to check with a voltmeter as the 5v will be missing completely from one board ,a new choke I think it was a 10uh is only a few pence. New software 12fg
What are Futaba thinking a few weeks ago they released a software upgrade for the 8fg so that the main stick units can be recalibrated easily by the user great. So when I saw a new software release for the 12fg yesturday I thought that it would also include this useful function but not so just some obscure mixing changes !!!! what do other 12fg users think???

I know this is not a discussion form but I have been complaining about this problem for some time now Futaba must known there is a problem with the stick pots & should at least publish the service menu software so that the user can calibrate the TX themselves

Futaba 12fg 2.1 software is Futaba being naughty
I can't put this on the Futaba forum because they would take it off but I would like to know what other Futaba 12fg users think . This is how I see it we all know that the 12fg is prone to the stick calabration going off which then required a trip to a service centre with a £ 50 charge . Just recently a way into the service menu has been found so we could do this ourselves so what do Futaba do they come out with a software upgrade that stops us accessing the service menu by this route and the upgrade is not reversable so you can't install 2.1 & then go back to 1.6 to do a reset. I think this completly out of order we the customers want the option to recalabrate our radios with out lining the pockets of the service centres what do you think??? lets all complain & don't load the new softare & let Futaba know what we think.

RE: FAST lock out issues
In the club were I fly only two of us fly with futba faast we have not had any problems in any way I first bought a 6ex when they first came out to try the new system out I have since bought a 12fg for the functions that I need I fly about 3 times a week which is about 20 flights in all types of models including thermal gliders that are specked out at extreme range zero problems . I'm sorry to say this for the JR spektrum guys but I have seen quite a few lockouts & crashes with spekrum gear flown by other club members all of which are experienced flyers most of the problems have been with the Ar500 RX but I have seen lockouts with 6200 & 6100 Rx's I'd say about at least a 12 crashes that I have witnessed plus some wierd symptoms like servos moving slowly & jerking ( not low battery)fault clears when switched off then on again I could go on . I'll stick with the faast system thanks.

RE: Interference issues at large events
That utube ""TEST"" with a Spektrum & Futaba Rx both browning out at 3v is not valid it is the digitial servos that stop working at 3v not the Futaba Rx.

RE: Brand new Dx5e not working?
In the club where I fly several experienced flyers have had problems with AR500 rx 's all other Rx 's no problems 3 of the AR500's have developed definite faults ie two when low range ,they had been ok b4 for a few weeks the other had a strange software problem that made the servos move slow & jerky ( not battery) intermittently until switched on & off then the fault would clear. Other flyers have also had strange symptoms with thease AR500's we all avoid them now & use 6200's instead. Dave

14mz changing modes
Please could you tell me if the 14mz Tx is swappable from mode2 to mode1 by the user or does it need to be returned to a service center recalabration . I am familiar with changing the spring & ratchet assembly over as on the 9c . thanks dave

RE: Which 2.4 System is REALLY the BEST?
I own both the Futaba 12fg & a spektrum Dx7 & personaly have not had a problem with either system, however in my club most of the radio's are spektrum/ Jr systems only two of us fly with futaba faast . There has been a lot of crashes with the spektrum system mainly with the Ar500 RX the usual battery checks have been done & is not the problem some of the symptoms are wierd servos jerking slowly, losing bind, control surfaces delecting for no apparant reason I could go on I know that people will say low voltage ,faulty servo etc but a rebind often fixes these problems so I don't think that these items can be blamed . I think that spektrum has some software issues with thier Rx's I am now in the process of going completly over to Futaba. Me & the other guy just keep flying with no problems with Futaba how boring!!!

RE: Brand New DX-7 won't turn off
I think you will find that the connections in the dsc jack socket have become shorted together that is why the TX thinks that it is in slave mode when it is switched off & the display comes on . It would be a quick check to see if the socket is broken or the connections are bent.

RE: Spektrum dx7 lost bind today
It is a fact that a bind can be lost if the bind button is depressed whilst the TX is switched on . bind is not lost when doing a range check because depressing the bind button when the TX is on only puts the TX in low RF output mode

12fg multi prop mix
Just read a question about the 12fg & multi engine set up in your reply you stated that this feature is not encluded on the 12 fg however it does have a multi prop mix for two engines I think it was a feature added in one of the recent updates
