From what I understand it's supposed to be in the 220 - 240 range. Sluggo : A buddy here has been running diesel for 2 yrs, not an issue. I just dont like the smell on my hands compared to kero. We have mixed fuels also so that won't hurt a thing.

RE: Kudos Kingtech service!
There are several good turbine manufacturers out there, anything mechanical or electrical has the possibility of failing. The Kingtechs have a very good product and are staying current in their designs. They run great and make rated power. What makes them the best ( IMO ) is the service, you can not beat Barry's service. He is very helpful ( Dirk too ) and has never been condescending like others are. You can sell a great product but what keeps a customer is the service, something many have forgotten or never knew.

RE: How to Correct Measured Thrust for Density Altitude?
Thats just an ADR calculator, he is looking for a correction factor for weather conditions which would already be known. I did a lot of dyno work on sprint engines and there are specific correction factors but those would not apply to jet engines. We have run up the same turbines in different weather conditions and there is a huge difference in thrust. We were going to start testing and recording weather and make a chart from that. Not 100% accurate but would get us in the ball park. From our testing most of them are touting #'s at sea level conditions, I think one mfg gives #'s at 1000' below- LOL.

I assume the ball link is what was supplied. I know on some materials of horns made that you should use a clevis instead of a ball link to prevent twisting.

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Kind of hard to trim out, because of the WIDE speed envelope of this plane. IF you put in enough throttle to elevator mix to correct properly it will baloon on you when you pull the power and glide down to your trim setting.

RE: C-ARF Flash Build Thread for All Flash's being built this winter
That is correct, because of the TOP hinging it is more effective UP so you need more down. A test is to put the plane going away from at 45 deg and 45deg up line and roll, if the plane goes right or left then you need to adjust the aileron differential. You can get it to where it is really nice. This works on any plane, even center hinged planes at times need ail. differential to get really nice rolls.

RE: Share Your Thoughts....
You dont need a customer like that. Anything electronic that has been used should not be returned unless it was defective. The restock fee is very reasonable for a return on something they decided they just did not want. By the way it sounds on the repack job the guy just does'nt give a crap any way, like was said earlier, you're not Wal Mart.

RE: C-ARF Flash Build Thread for All Flash's being built this winter
Remember weather conditions play a major role. On the test stand we have seen huge losses in thrust. The plane drag coefficeint will alos go up with less than ideal conditions. The high 200's are very possible in the right conditions with a 140/160 class turbine.

There's nothing wrong with these systems when flying foamies, but I have never seen a foamy become a 200mph, 40# out of control molatove coctail. A lot of it comes down to responsibility. I am by no means an elitist jet pilot either.

Just a curious thought. Is the foam that was used safe against fuel spills. I know a lot of foams will melt from fuels, would have to be very careful.

The Pro-links are very good, have standard sizing and work very well. Dreamworks customer service is second to none. I have the Jet 1-a main legs on mine with the behotec retracts which work well, no issues or compliants. The trailing link is the only way to go, really helps for those not so good landings.

Because I use 7955's I just programmed them all and y'd the elevators and flaps. I used the behotc brake/gear valve that came with the gear which works good and keeps things simple. I have my steering on a seperate channel so I can trim the steering independant of the rudder. still stayed under 10 channels.

The factory set acceleration rate is a little slow, you can fine tune that and set to half expo and it will spool up pretty good.

I honestly don't know how the hell you guys find all the switches and stuff for afterburner rings, chutes, lights, etc etc etc. I've simplified in my jets, and man, they are much less stress that way! I still only have the normal amount of fingers and thumbs, have you guys learned how to grow more appendages? [/quote] Jeremy, I noticed a lot of guys holding their transmitters low, below their waist. Maybe there is a reason for this ? [:-]

RE: C-ARF Ultra Flash build Thread + Video
Normally I am a big fan of overkill when it comes to more power, but honestly you aren't really gaining much by installing a 160 size or bigger turbine into the Flash. Unless you want to spend an extra $2000. With the K140 mine will take off in 250-300' at 1/2 throttle and then will accelerate vertically out of site from slow flight. A friend has one with a P160sx in it and it is no faster on the straight and level nor acceleration.
