RE: Stock RC18R radio bad range with mamba?
I am using a 2s 2100 lipo. I put RF filters on the wires and it helped but it made my mamba glitch more. so I took off the throttle one and it works ok for now. still not good range, but good enough for the racing I was doing. I will try twisting the wires. Thanks, Dean

Stock RC18R radio bad range with mamba?
hey guys, I have my 18r set up with a mamba micro pro w/the 8000 motor. its really fast, but my radio range has been terrible. It goes maybe 20 feet before it starts picking up signals and going in different directions. I am just wondering, is there any way I can get better range out of the stock radio? Or is it just crap? it worked ok when it was stock. Thanks, Dean

RE: traxxas slash
The slash is meant to perform well off road. you might have to change the set up a little to get it to perform better on-road.

That truck looks way more dialed then a slash. and since its based off a T4 you could probably set it up real good.

The VXl with a siedwinder esc on 3s lipo should be fine. Ive been running my VXL on 3s for the past year with no problems.

RE: What's a good brushless system for Slash?
ORIGINAL: redfisher1974
either way id go mamba max 7700kv. more power than the slash can handle!
So why does that make it a good choice? Seems like a oxymoron no?
And that might run hot in a slash, its a heavy truck. I would go no higher than 5700 in a slash.

How thick was the wire. I have resoldered thicker wire to mine and my cousins and you will lose sight of them before they run out of range.

^What class do you race? I run a gtb with a 17.5 stock and it has a lot of torque and thats expected from a 17.5 but its not uncontrollable it just takes practice.

RE: novak havoc or gtb
If your racing, you'd be better off with the GTB. It has a lot more tuning options, and no motor limit. The Havoc can only go down to 8.5 turn motors.

RE: Getting a Micro RS4
I would get a faster motor... You could go a lot higher than 3500 kv in a touring car. it might be a little slow.

RE: wheelie bar
DO NOT GET THAT. I got it for my stampede and it lasted a whole 5 minutes before it was bent against the motor and transmission, and bent to one side. Its a complete piece of crap, you can bend it with your hands. Im talking about the integy one. the ESP looks to be better quality.

You should think about making a kit that converts losi buggies to this, maybe offer it to a company that makes stuff like this? I dont have a losi but i would get one if this was available.

Even though this is the electric forum im gonna have to be loyal and say savage. the tmaxx is alright but no where near as good as the savage. and the EZ start is crap, the roto start is way better.

Off road race vehicles arent meant to bash, and arent really bash worhy. If your not racing, your better of getting a tougher truck.

I just saw the savage flux at my lhs, its sooo sweet. you can run two 3s lipos in it, and the battery compartments look a lot bigger than the revo's.
