Tamiya TNX 5.2R,,Rear Diff help please
Hi all.....Yesterday while out entertaining the neighbour hood kids with my truck.....I snapped the rear drive shaft off...!!! Now..Let me explain the problem..The rear diff has three outputs...2 to the rear wheels and 1 to the center....It's the 1 to the center that broke.. The shaft is fine.....So I removed the rear diff to check further......Upon inspection..I noticed that the joint cup came off with the shaft..which means that the Diff now has a busted piece of metal coming out of it....It actually snapped off inside the diff......So there is piece of metal sticking out of the rear diff,,(center)..It looks like it got so hot that it snapped..???..My question to you experts is this...Do I need a new rear diff now..??..Or can that piece be replaced..?..I have never opened up a diff ..so I'm not sure what to do..??... If that piece can be replaced..(Looks like a joint cup with a mini shaft attached to it)...Is there an upgraded one that I can buy..??..If so..where..?? Is this a common issue with this truck..??...I have never had any previous issues..(Other then this truck loves clutch's).... Please help guys...I need this truck back up and running A.S.A.P Thanks in advance... Jamie

Newbie with a new toy..!!!.Couple of questions..
Hi all.....Just bought a T-Maxx 2.5...and had a quick couple of questions for the group... The T-Maxx is like new shape...It has had 9 full tanks of fuel through it since new,,(Including break in procedure)....It's on it's way to Canada from Texas...So I'm anxious to receive it..In the mean time...I was wondering how quick this truck is..??..I have never seen a T-Maxx 2.5 in action..!! Will it wheelie....??.....Is it a good basher truck..??...Any immediate upgrades required..??...How well do the clutch's hold up..??..(I own the TNX 5.2R monster truck and it eats clutch's)......How would you guys compare the 2 trucks..?? Is the 3.3 a good upgrade..??..I mean..do I actually need to upgrade to enjoy this truck..?? Sorry for all the stupid questions....But.....I'm very curious on what I just purchased..and thought I'd ask the experts..!! Thanks in advance... Jamie Any other info or advice would be greatly appreciated... Cheers

RE: -Official Traxxas JATO Thread-
Hi all....Just your typical newbie question I guess....I have a Jato with the 2.5 on it....It ran great last year...now this year..It starts perfectly with no issues....Seems like as soon as it gets up to operating temperature it quits and won't restart...(Until it's cooled down again)....So..I thought that maybe the engine was pooched...So I went out and bought another 2.5 engine,,(Used...but good compression)....and am having the exact same results.....??? I'm stumped...any ideas or help would be really appreciated...

Jato 2.5 glow plug question...??
Sorry to ask stupid questions guys..But...I just left my LHS and the guy sold me 3 glow plugs,,(I asked for 3)..But...He sold me 3 different glow plugs..?? Now..before I go and try to use them....I just wanted to ask the professionals..(That's you guys)..If they will all be ok for my truck..Or if they all will work ok with my Jato..??..It's a 2.5 Jato,,(Older model,,but mint in every way) The first plug says...O.S. Glow Plug A5 The second says....O.S. Glow Plug No.8 And the third is a ....Real McCoy MC-8 Glow Plug Now as long as they all wil work ok..I'm fine with that..Just curious on why he'd sell me 3 different plugs..??? Oh..and curious also...Will any of these plugs work in my Tamiya TNX 5.2R......????? Thanks in advance guys,,(And gals)

Jato won't stay running..??
Hi all....I recently purchased a used Jato 2.5..and my issue is this....Starts fantastic..and purrs like a kitten....I can let it go and she rips....for about 1-2 minutes...as soon as I let it come down to idle..(After it's warm)..It stalls..and won't restart..(Until it's cooled down)....I tried this procedure all last week with the same results each day..Any ideas,,??...Is the motor worn out..???...That's the only thing I can think of..?? I have it tuned properly and everything,,(Checked everything over and it's complete and seems to be working in proper order) Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Jato 2.5..One way bearing..???
Probably just a stupid question to most of you...But..I have to ask...What's the purpose of the "One Way Bearing"..and what are the symptoms of a bad one..??..How do you know when one needs to be changed..?? Thanks in advance... Jamie

Right now ..here in Ontario canada the Traxxas jato 3.3 is on sale for $419.00....Which leads me to believe that it's way cheaper out there in the U.S....That would be my recomendation to all of you doubters..try it..Then let me know what ya think...

RE: Earthquake 3.5 runaway crash during break in
Lol....I see you have chatted it up with others regarding some very disappointed customers..and others who ask the question.."How many takes did it take"...Makes ya wonder eh pal..??... Contradiiction you say...I'd just not rather ruffle any feathers that's all..I said from day 1..My personal opinion that's all...If you love Redcat..Hats off to ya....I'll guarantee that I'll never purchase another one..that's for damn sure....I hope Redcat makes a million dollars this month alone in sales...As long as they can keep shipping out replacement parts at no charge to their customers..,,(Kinda foolish..if your in the business to make money)..All in all...I'm not here to argue or fight with anyone..I was trying to help a newbie,,(Like me)..by stating that in the future...Spend a little more $$$ .and ya get what ya pay for.. Videos' you ask for....No worries there bud..As it is -24 degrees out today..it would be kinda foolish to make one..but..I'll assure you that when the bitter cold of the Canadian winter subsides..I'll provide all the readers here with a classic Canadian Monster truck video..!!!...... Now..in closing...Can't we all just get along....eh.!!!

RE: Earthquake 3.5 runaway crash during break in
To each their own......God.....doesn't take you RC guys much to get fired up eh....My RedCat Was $219.00...(US Dollars)..Plus shipping to Ontario Canada,,So eat it pal..!!..That works out to over $300.00..Not all of us have access to US parts either..!!..Which makes RedCat pretty hard to come by here in Ontario..So Far..I'm sure in the future Redcat will make it's way here...but until then..It's hard to get parts for...As for the videos..I wonder how many they had to make before they could show you just how durable Redcat really is..??.... I have spoke to Alishamano in the past regarding my truck,,,Great guy,,,Very knowledgable,,..Not bashing him at all.... Run what ya brung..or buck up cowboy..!! Show me a RedCat that can outperform my trucks.....I dare ya..!! Send the videos......Send the pics....I'll be the judge..!!

RE: Earthquake 3.5 runaway crash during break in
To be honest....I run Energizer Pro's..and they last weeks at a time..and I try to get out 2/3 times a week...Even in the dead of the Canadian winter.....Only 2 of my trucks have fail saf'es on them and I have never ran into a problem....You'll usually notice a lack in power when the batteries are dying..(Throttle servo moves slower and won't open up fast)..That's when I change my batteries

RE: Earthquake 3.5 runaway crash during break in
Yes I agree..For the price...it is a great entry level truck...The only point that I was trying to make was..These kids out there watching You Tube see these videos of Nitro trucks..and think that all of them should run a million miles an hour and are indestructable...Well..as we all know,,they aren't... Redcat is perfect for the beginner/learner driver...Just don't crash at high speeds to expect to go mudding..!!,,lol Enjoy the toys boyz..Don't argue about them....That's for our wives to do...lol Cheers

Ouch....Easy tiger....Get your back up much..??..Settle bud.!!! No one here is bashing anything..Each person is entitled to their own opinion.....So..If ya don't like it..Then don't bother coming back..!!..Easy enough to understand.....?? Thanks for your input..But,,guess what..no one asked for it..! As for what I run..Currently it's the Tamiya TNX 5.2R (Big Block)..The HPI MT2..The Jato 3.3 and The Jato 2.5R...Now..You show me a Redcat capable of keeping up with or outrunning or outperforming any one of these trucks..and I'll call ya a liar to your face..!!

Now that's an idea...Charge the customer..$29.95 extra..to have it complte and ready to go..!! I'd pay it in a heart beat..(If I ever thought I'd buy another RedCat)......Brilliant idea....Submit it to RedCat directly..!!!

Best point brought up in a while...The gear meshing thing..Wow..Are you telling me that the company couldn't take that little extra time and mesh it for you..??.....That was brutal setting it up...Can you imagine how many people will screw up their brand new trucks just trying to get that part right,,??.....Clever of Redcat eh..lol.....If ya ask me..RTR shouuld mean..add fuel..break in ...and drive.,,!!!

Couldn't have said it better...You are 100% correct on that..But,,I still stand on the RedCat policy,,Just my opinion that's all man.. I just hate to read about all the complaints on these trucks.....It gets people out of nitro all together,,and we need more nitro nuts..less electric..!!!!..Especially here in Canada..!!

RE: Earthquake 3.5 runaway crash during break in
Relax pal.....I wasn't bashing anyone..Just stating a fact..and for the difference in $$$ it's not that much of a big deal,,,Ya see..People see Redcat as a great deal for a Nitro car because of the price,,Not realizing that ya can't just go out there and bash with them..They can't take the abuse..The brittle plastic crap that they use can't hold up.....I paid neary $300.00 for my Volcano S30...And right outta the box nothing but problems....RedCat support is Fantastic...They go above and beyond to help you..(Ever wonder why..??)..I ate my loss on the Volcano S30 and bought a used Traxxas Jato.........Completely different truck....Barely any needs for adjustment..takes a beating like you wouldn't believe...Parts are cheap and accessible.... New comers are getting a bad taste in their mouth when they are buying Redcat.....For the little extra $$$ it goes a long way..
