Goldberg had passed to Bubba Spivey at Lanier and then to Great Plains when Lanier was sold to them. Doubtful that they sell plans separately from kits but i guess that you could try. Dennis

RE: Another mystery engine
Fox 09 Rocket introduced in 1958 at 4.95 .It was aimed at new modellers and wasn't a powerhouse. It was easy starting and the controls were safely back from the prop. Lots were sold but disappointment must have run high when compared the the K&B 09 and Enya 09. it's not a real collectable but if it's new in the box it has fetched up to $40.00 on fleabay.

A kit by Pat king with a 61.5 W/S 985 sq in W/S with an Evolution NX60. It weighs 66 oz and flies better then you can imagine. Some things really do appreciate with age especially when they grow up. RE: TROY BUILT MODELS
ORIGINAL: predman I understand inflation, but for me to ship the same box back to them priority mail cost me $14.60, them to me $38
Predman, Please understand that I am not trying to defend TBM but I feel as though you all could use a perspective from someone who has been in the ARF business for a few years. Shipping rates have gone up tremendously, not just in the cost of shipping the item from the retail center to the consumer but also from China (Or wherever the product is made) to the retail center/warehouse. The boxes that are used to ship these items in have doubled if not tripled in recent years as well. These increases also do not account for the time it takes to process the order; someone has to process, pack, and ship the item. There is also at least a 3% charge on credit card transactions, not to mention the fees that may be associated with different card types. Larger companies may be able to ship items at a slightly lower rate to the customer due to their shipping volume and their discount amount. It also depends on the size of the box, one inch in any dimension can instantly bump the package up to the next "Oversize" level, instantly adding $30.00+ to the cost of shipping. Shipping prices can also vary depending on where the airplane is shipped, this can change the cost of shipping any item by 10-30%. All of the things I mentioned above must go into the calculation of shipping charges, it is not as simple as slapping a label on a box and sending it wherever. I think you will also find that many companies loose money on shipping rates and are in no way making extra profit from the lower than needed shipping charges. Once again, please understand that these are my personal opinions and observations and should not be linked to any company in particular. Mark

Rick, You will need a 25mm drop double bend flex header. As for the prop sizes, I would start with a 24x8, that should do very well for break in. Mark

RE: thinning out kits, which one would you sell?
I Wish that I was only faced with the choice of 1 in 3 to go. After 60 years in the hobby I have over 200 and nowhere to go with anymore. Still intend to get all of them built before I go and would have a shot at it if I didn't keep adding to the collection. Keep the kits and tell the missus to take a breath and relax. Life is too short to carry on about something so frivolous as a kit.

RE: OS10LA carb question
The OS10FP carb is not a direct replacement as it is a little longer and if my memory is correct the screw holes might be compromised. Also if you want to replace the leaking backplate the 10FP backplate does not fit as the LA10 was redesigned and the liner drops further down . Dennis

RE: Help covering scalped trailing edges
Scalloped trailing edges were not a design feature of those WW1 and post war era aircraft. It was caused by the shrinkage of the covering between the bays. The trailing edge of those planes were thin with a wire reinforcement and the scallop while not intentional made lot of those planes a lot more interesting looking. Fabric coverings are a bit easier to get to work on these trailing edges, however you have been given some good advice on covering with plastic to get acceptable results. Just take your time at the tip of each scallop. Badly done they will make your model look like crap.

Here is a picture from our website that shows a KS 1060 Tuned pipe installed. Please let me know if you need anything else. Mark
