RE: BestBuy sells Traxxas!
I actually just saw this earlier today, did anyone see the prices on some of them? I looked at the US bestbuy.com and they have the emaxx brushless for almost $1200! I went to tower real quick and they have the exact same truck listed for like $660. Almost double the price BB?! Really!? No wonder I haven't shopped there in god knows how long.

RE: LIFE batteries
No they do not. I had several of the hobbyking LIFE batts and they were good while they lasted, which wasnt very long, maybe a couple weeks before all of them puffed. So if you are looking into the hobbyking ones look elsewhere.

When I had my e-maxx with the MM combo I bought the integy spring set: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKTH4&P=7 5 different sets of springs to see what you like. I ended up using the red(hard) and was pretty satisfied.

Even if I get 1 dud out of 10 I'm still way ahead of coming close to paying what I would have paid for some maxamps packs. I'd rather order 10 turnigy lipos and get 2 duds than buy 5 maxamps and all be good.

The C rate doesnt affect the run time, MAH does. The higher the C rate the more amps the pack can safely put out. Also, dont just limit yourself to venom batts, check out zippy and turnigy batts from hobbyking.com for some great deals.

RE: Battery in the center or on the side?
Lots of people on here love hobbyking so yes keep on getting whatever 3s 20c+ lipo you can get from them. Like scott said, the 4x4 stampede is another option but don't get it for the reasons he stated. Get the slash 4x4 and you get the longer wheelbase and less cramped chassis, and if you want more ground clearance throw on bigger tires and an MT body and you're set. I personally see no reason for a stampede 4x4.[:)] I do recommend either the ultimate or platinum because it comes with the aluminum parts that are where you want aluminum, and where common breaks are for the plastic. You would most likely replace those with aluminum at some point and it will cost you more down the road. Also no, I do not notice my slash 4x4 to be prone to rolling in any certain way because of weight, the motor and batteries usually offset themselves.

RE: dusting off old emaxx, need help
ORIGINAL: t9dragon
ORIGINAL: Minnreefer Never mind, after more research, I remembered that Lipo's need a low voltage cut off. so I will have to use new nimih batteries.
You can buy a LVC and then you can use lipos with the stock esc.
+1, or you can also grab a couple alarms instead of cutoffs like [link=http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-8S-Lipo-Battery-Tester-Low-Voltage-Buzzer-Alarm-RC-1S-/320669324354?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4aa9619442]these[/link] and a couple 2s lipos and you're ready to rip. I like the alarms better because they monitor each cells voltage, instead of an ESCs built in cutoff since it only knows total pack voltage.

With a 4x4 the location of the battery is usually offset to one side and then the motor and ESC on the other so its not like its totally off-balance.

+1 to Wingtote bags, they are very nice. I've had one for a few years now from when I started in nitro to carry around my MT, and now I can fit both 2wd slashes in the bag along with anything else I need to take with me, Tx, batteries, chargers, tools and spare parts.

RE: To Stampede or not to Stampede, that is the question.
^ I was thinking the same thing. My 6000 turnigys top off in about 45 minutes @ 1C. Why bother selling the slash 4x4 just to get a stampede 4x4, especially if you plan on "throwing on a Slash 4x4 chassis for better handling" anyway. Just get some stampede tires and wheels or wheels of your choice, a different body, change shocks around and add the shock guards and you're done. Theres absolutely no reason to sell a slash 4x4 to get a pede 4x4.

RE: Velineon system in an SC10??
Its the way the 2wd traxxas trans are designed, there is more than 1 way for dirt to get into the gear area than just by the cover. And the reason people buy the RPM one is because it is actually completely sealed. If you look at a stock gear cover theres a hole in the bottom. But with either one I always had stuff getting into the gears. I've been running coverless for over a year with maybe 1 or 2 things in the gears over that year rather than 1 or 2 things every run.

Outerwears chassis shroud question
Hey guys, I just got the outerwears shroud for my slash 4x4 and I'm wondering if its normal for it to have such a little bit of velcro on the sides of the shroud itself? Its mostly on the inside and then sewn into the seams and I'm just curious if thats normal since it barely has anything to grab onto. I haven't actually ran it yet to know if it will stay attached or not but it seems like there should be more velcro there.

RE: Lipo battery question with traxxas rustler XL-5
ORIGINAL: rayndog3 You can use a 2S lipo, as long as it has a traxxas connector on it, if it doesn't you can always put one on. also you need to make sure that you put your XL-5 speed control in low voltage detection mode to run lipo.
If its the model that has LVC, they just recently came out with that built into the XL-5. OP, just look on the box or the ESC and it will tell you.

First of all the link isn't inserted right but just looking at the info in the link I see that you are talking about a 3S Lipo and no, it will not work with the XL-5 ESC and titan motor. The XL-5 is rated for 9.6 volt max(8-cell NiMH) and a 3S lipo is 11.1 volts.

Oh no, I have, but I've also seen that go both ways. Saying that about everything in the hobby in general is just not correct. It's different with every person, not everyone likes spending $100 on a battery when they don't have to, and that also goes for ESC's/motors.

RE: My RC10B4
Seems like just normal cogging of sensorless brushless setups. Did it just start doing it or has it been the whole time, cuz if it recently started that's weird. Do you know how hot it actually got as in do you have a temp meter? If the motor gets too hot it will start to demagnetize.
