Trex 450 glitching issue
I am at my wits end on an SA 450. The problem is that several times during flight on a battery pack, it does a glitch or two out of the blue in which it spins around 180 degrees after a tail wag or two. It happens instantaneously, then you have control again. I have been dealing with this issue for quite some time. If you have altitude, you can usually recover, but if it happens close to the ground, it usually causes a crash that takes out the blades and sometimes the boom. There are several things I have tried to isolate the issue. I swapped out the JR 400 receiver, no luck there. Then, I pulled the Phoenix 45 amp power (red wire) to disable the on-board BEC. Used a NMH to power the electronics. Still same issue. I then pulled all the servos out put new ones in with no luck there. The only thing I know to do now is swap the futaba 401 gyro and digital servo from another 450 I have that flies just fine. Just thought I would ping you guys to see if I am missing something obvious. Or, if you have any troubleshooting tips that I can try to locate the issue, I am all ears. Let me know if you need more details.

RE: Futaba GY401 question
What exactly is zero out the trim mean? That is what the manual says. Sorry for being stupid, but I simply do not understand what action to take specifically to achive this.

Futaba GY401 question
I have a GY401 on a Trex with JR 8103 and a 700 receiver. Been flying the thing for years but never used stunt 1 or 2 modes. I was having a 3d pilot check everything out on the machine and he noticed several things right away that I needed to change or fix. I fixed them all but one. The 401 starts flashing when switching to stunt 1 or 2. It stops when switched back to normal. The manual's excellent instructions say that if the led flashes, it means the rudder trim has shifted in that flight condition??? and to readjust the rudder trim. Can someone shed some detailed light on this one? I have no idea what it means to readjust the rudder trim with the engine off and would be too afraid to put it in stunt mode while in the air right now. Please someone post something fast so I can crash again soon. Email dgrubb001@gmail.com. Thanks in advance...

Heli Help
Does anybody know of someone in the Raleigh NC area (within 50 miles) who can help setup a couple of Trex 450s for 3D? I have been hovering and doing general simple flight for a couple of years. Still pretty much a novice, but want to experiment some. I have a similator and can fly pretty well on it. Before I attempt 3D with my real ones, I wanted an experienced pilot to check them out phycically and the radio setup for each heli to make sure they are setup properly for 3D. Maybe tweak the expo for a beginner 3D pilot or some other settings that may help out a beginner 3D pilot. I am certainly willing to pay within reason for their time. I have no idea where the local heli pilots hang out. There are none at my local flying field. I hear there may be some heli freaks at a Club called Swamps, but that did not turn up anyone. I was hoping to find someone that actually enjoys helping others rather than finding them a burden. Thanks in advance for any advice or direction you have.

RE: Where to get Q500 airplanes???
I did not see any comments about the Preditor II. Is it still something to avoid? I like the Viper wings, but hate the fuse and all the extra work ironing and re-enforcing the firewall and tail.

RE: Lowes RC website
Thanks for the info Don. I will keep in touch. I think there are a couple in Bowie. I missed the Jullian race due to crash during practice the day before and of course my poor form after two years off. I will make an effort to come down and watch some of the Concord races and maybe generate some interest in the Q-25 and Club 40 classes. I really like the 3 pole class racing. .

Lowes RC website
Just trying to gather info on upcoming races for 424 in the Carolinas. Their website seems to be down or my browser is messed up. Can someone advise? Don, can you get me an email address for you? I had it a few years ago, but need your current one. Thanks....You don't need to post it publically, just send it to dgrubb001@gmail.com. I'd like to re-connect and find out what's going on in our area. Thanks in advance...
