yeh got to have a house and warehouse to fly right from there, even a full scale something or other would be cool, even if just a ultralite, something to take out and get up in the air myself over my property

RE: Extreme Flight 110
barry i found the post i was refering too, on the other site in the 111 thread, which like i said i heard is similar pwerwise to a 100 on pipes, anyway the guy there said a 24-12 wasnt enough, the 25-12 was a little too much, the 25-10 was perfect.......

RE: Extreme Flight 110
i heard the 24-12 wasnt enough for a 111, which i think is similar to your 100 on pipes? so a 25-10 or 12, or a 26-10 if its really strong engine, i was very close to buying a 25-10 for noise like you, but was concerned about lack of thrust, thats why i tried the biela 28-10 1st, if it was too much prop i would have tried a 3blade, im very happy with the biela 28, it really did quite the plane down and i lost nothing in power, actually gained i think, id reccommend the biela, its a much wider blade than the mj 28 was, thats why i droped rpms but still kept power.....anyway i cant remember where i saw those posts about the 3 blade, may have been on the 110 thread over on fg a while back

RE: Extreme Flight 110
ORIGINAL: gboulton Happened to FINALLY get around to putting a 28'' prop (Xoar 28-10) on the DLE 111 in mine this weekend, moving from the old 27B Bunny Prop I had been running. Wow, that's a whole different airplane.  Much less wing rock in harriers, ailerons more responsive in a hover, much more consistent downline speed.  All in all, a much happier pilot. :) Hoping the DLE will handle the 28'' prop in the hot summer months...going to just have to keep an eye on temps as things warm up.
i went from a 27B to a mej 28-10 with my 111 and it was a big improvement, even in the late summer here in arizona it was great, i have since switched to a biela 28-10, the mej was kinda loud sometimes and i started doing more imac, anyway the biela is way wider and i droped about 400 rpms from the mej, but it performs better imo, quiter and pulls every bit as hard as the mej did, doesnt need as many rpms to do the same work with that wider blade, anyway i would assume the xoar you have is even less load than the biela and maybe the mej, so you should be good to go in any weather i would think..... btw no virus pop up this morning

RE: Vess Balance Ring, Anygood?
when i used clear coat on the back side of a prop it took me a long time to do it, it would change after dried, so i had to wait to check it, then respray if needed, then wait again, i like the vbr cause it saves me time, its cleaner, and i also like that it has a wider foot print than the standard prop washers, when i put one on a menz prop it didnt dig in and crush the wood like the smaller supplied prop washer did, to me it was worth the money and i ended up putting them on all my planes and will continue to do so, so to the original poster of this thread imo it is a good product and id reccomend it

RE: Vess Balance Ring, Anygood?
here is a vid i made of a before and after of the vbr, 1st one i let the camera go the entire time so you can see i didnt do anything other than add the vbr, at 1st i didnt notice anything dramatic, but after a flew it it "felt" smoother somehow, also some who commented on the vid in another thread said you can hear less vibration in the covering and the wheel pants shake less, i do beilieve it worked, and that prop was balanced the "old fashion" way with clear coat to start with, so there was an improvment with the vbr even thinking i had it right...the 2nd link is a shorter version so you hear the run up closer to each other, the longer one i had a hard time finding the hole[:D] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8GyyyH3poo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0MMVk9Tc2Ic

RE: Vess Balance Ring, Anygood?
i like the vbr too, it seems quicker and easier than clear coating one side of a prop and checking again after dry, etc......

RE: Extreme Flight 110
frank did you say those stripes are on the tail too? man i got to say i love that, so much so i wouldnt mind getting one myself:), maybe give up the pipe dream i have of ever being able to afford the big extra and just get another one of these, maybe set it up for imac right from the start, like 1.25 arms in stead of 1.5, go with pipes for noise, crap like that ya know, then use my current one to come up with some kind of freestyle routine, thatd be cool, just not sure how much, if any, it would help my imac carreer, hehe, unless it flies straighter than mine, which is a possibility since mine did have incidence off and something still doenst seem right with my stabs

RE: Extreme Flight 110
nice scenery:)......i too have a dle111 in mine, had a zdz100 for the 1st year and half, saw some dles at the field, bought a 55 for myself, liked it so much i pulled the zdz and put the 111 in it, definetly had more power, im diging this set up now, switched to a biela 28-10 and id say its darn near perfect for me, i have a vid on youtube i just made with that set up i can post a link if you want, my older vids shows the zdz, had a vess 27a mostly on that, much better now for sure

RE: Extreme Flight 88
leon i think you will like this one a bit better, i had an sdyak, the 80cc size, it was a close second to this 88yak as far as being my favorite, they both were excellent flyers and enjoyable, it was close like i said, but the sd was second none the less, and that was slightly bigger and more powerful, so comparing this to the sd50cc you may notice even more of a difference, keep us posted...

i asked a little while ago and they do have that 100cc extra coming out, no current plans for a 100cc edge curtis said, but i would think eventually they would, they are obvisously here to stay for the long haul[:D]...and will give the poeple what they want...eventually...[;)]

RE: Extreme Flight 88
id say other than my 110yak this 88 was the easiest to land too, the 88edge was very easy too, floated for sure, but that one took a little longer to slow down, sleaker frame, not a big deal just got to get used to it, these yaks, especially the 110, i can cut my downleg final short, bank it in even from a good altitube, cut the power and she slows up right on the runway, its pretty cool
