RE: EF Chinn Yak
i didnt have much issue with cg on my saito 82, it was kinda far forward and i had to make a sharp turn with the fuel line to not get in the way of prop, so some more to work with up front may be nice

RE: Extreme Flight 110
preflight is always a good thing, check servos for being loose, stab bolts, i grab the spinner and prop and move it around lifting so i can see if there is movment in the motor mount area, i even still do a range check on my 1st flight of the day every time out regardless if i changed anything internally or not, just a habbit i guess

RE: Extreme Flight 110
i am getting about 6550 with the 27A on stock mufflers, i tested again tday and compared to the 26-10 mej, the mej had a bit more forward speed, they both pulled out similarly, but the vess seemed to make the plane more stable at slow speed, im guessing cause of the bigger diameter, it was noticable even to spectators, so my vess is back on for now, im satisfied with the pull out, its just enough to keep my happy, so i dont feel i need pipes but more power never hurts, im guessin i wouldnt notice the extra weight with so much wing area, im going to price things out for another set of stocks compared to pipes and try and decide where to go next, barry i was just curious about numbers to see how much i may jump from that 6550, sounds like you gained enough to make it worth it, but you may have been below my numbers with those cans you had so you made bigger jump than i may, we'll see

RE: Extreme Flight 110
barry you posted some rpms with the 27a on pipes, do you remember what you got on the cans with same prop?? i know you said 5lbs of thrust im just curious on numbers, i dont know how much thrust i get now so im curious on rpm gain, im still considering pipes, especially now i had anotehr tbm silent crapy muffler blow apart, im down to the replacement they sent me after the 1st one came apart, my buddy fixed it for me and it just broke again, so i dont expect these things to be here for the long run,i need to get some jtecs or look into pipes i jokingly mentioned jb weld for the axle, i acutally used that on my 88 though, with the size axles i used and the spats, the collar was right at the end of the axle, i made a "hubcap" with jb weld on the end, worked great and was still easily removed with my dremel sander to take them off, id do it again, i dont ahve much luck with the set screws and locktite, ends up not being able to get them loose then when you need to, so silicon has been my friend lately but a dab of jb does work pretty well imo[;)]

RE: Extreme Flight 88
i havent had the 74, i would think if anything it will fly even more gentle and forgiving, shouldnt be any trouble at all, thats how i felt going from 88 to 110, may slow down quicker with the bigger cowl, so keep that in mind for landings, if you land by powering off and coasting like some do it might slow down sooner than the 74, thats about all i can think of

RE: EF Chinn Yak
thats suprising to me as well, there support on big planes it top notch, i had a canopy issue with my 110 yak, they ended up sending 2 total cause one the replacment didnt fit right, they have been great on smaller issues as well, im thinking that this plane doenst mean that much to them maybe? there willing to have some bad pr here which they always rectify right away on the other planes and forums, maybe it was a partnership with others and there willing to let it go by the way side or something i dont know, it really is not the normal support from the company though that i do know, ive been a customer since the original 68" yak years ago, always been great to deal with, maybe call them instead of emails, if you still want to do something with them that is...

RE: EF Chinn Yak
i wouldnt call there planes junk, ive had several of there yaks, and seen the extras, they are always the nicest looking and flying planes at any field i go to, not sure what the deal was this one though, its not up to there standards and sucks you would think all there other stuff is the same, its not, but yes something isnt right with this one and im not sure they want to spend the time or money to fix future runs or just give up on it eventually themselves

RE: Extreme Flight 110
im not sure how much it helps, but i always put a finger full of clear silicon over the collar and on the axle, i figure if the collar comes loose, the silicon will keep it on the axle, in theary anyway
ORIGINAL: sailorman33 I am on the waiting list for the Thanksgiving delivery. I have heard they are starting to make the calls to the people on the list to make sure they still want the plane. Has anyone received a call yet? I sure hope that there are enough planes on this container so that I will get one. I will be disapointed if I have to wait for the next container.
i think they send emails and want you to call, thats what they did for me with the 110 and the new 78 extra

RE: Extreme Flight 110
mine came out around 28&3/4 dry with zdz100 and stock mufflers, and its almost too light:).....cant wait to hear your reports, i know you be amazed, i was, felt like ive flown it for years right on the 1st climb out, i leave my stabds on cause i have room in my railer and in my garage, but in my house in az i kept it inside, it was tricky to roll it to fit in the doorway but i was able to do it very carefully without hitting anything, had to use my hole arm on the left, rolling the fues up my forearm kinda to get it in, but it was nice not having to mess with the stabs and leads etc... we have a guest room kinda, just a mattress on the floor and my plane related stuff is in there, wings, charges, flight box etc....would work though:)

RE: Extreme Flight 88
if you truely can get either plane id say get the 110, there is many of us 110 owners that sold 88's to move up, i miss the 88 but the 110 is by far the favorite everywhere you go with it, i personally like the sound and smell of gas motors, and luckily no noise issues where i fly, but it would be neat to see an electric version....btw people are coming in the 30lb range with da100 and pipes, the thing still floats like a trainer, so id say even if you end up a tad heavier there still would be no issue as far as wind loading goes, mine is just under 29 with zdz100 and stock mufflers, its crazy light feeling on the wings

RE: Extreme Flight 88
i messed with it today and didnt like it, started at 30%, didnt seem to do anything really, so i kept going up and ended up at 60%, that just made the nose want to fall over and had to give way more ele and throttle, i didnt like it at all, so turned that mix off and just messed around, i had a really smooth one at one point and i realized i was actually going back on the stick(ele) and slightly over to the right, wasnt trying to correct the rock, just held a very small amount of constant ailr input, seemed to work, so i want to try that again next time and see what happens, also was talking with some other pilots and came up with an idea to bump the throttle more, try and keep more prop wash over the wing to help it from stalling instead of just using enough throttle to hold that position, that seemd to help as well, i just havent done them in a while so i need to keep practicing, been to busy trying to sweep the grass up with my rudder in a hover[:D]

RE: Aviation Models 33% Yak Build Thread
well ive been flying mine for a while with my new beila prop, its a tad lighter than the mej i had on there, for the heck of it i did some checking of my cg, inverted it actually will climb if more than 3/8 power, a inverted 45 it will climb with half or more, i just moved one battery forward some and will try again this weeknd, ive been a bit tail heavy for a while now, i did notice it wants to snap more than it used to, maybe this will help going back forward some
