Steering went out (sprint 2 flux)
Hey guys, recently i was ripping around and smashed parallel into a curb and grinded some gears in the servo box. Right after the crash the steering continued to work for a few seconds then completely stopped. Like i said the the gears in the servo box were messed up but wouldn't the motors still spin or at least make some sort of noise? when i turn the wheel nothing happens so i'm thinking it might be more than just the servo, any idea's? thanks! -Vince
ORIGINAL: Car-Boy This really sucks. I just got the HPI plastic pulley. Installed it on the flux and 10 min run and it was all stripped. Can't wait fit the aluminum
jeez that's pretty hardcore, i've driven mine about 30-40 times and the orig's are still solid, one very minor chip, AND i've only driven it in parking lots so i dunno what's with that.

RE: HPI Sprint 2 Sport upgrade question!
ORIGINAL: Uncle Vinnie
I have a question. For 2-cell Li-Po (5,000 mAh), which BL combo works better? The 6000 kv one or 4300 kv one?
What do you mean what BL combo would work better????? It would work on both just fine, I'm not sure what your asking. On the 4300 you would get longer run times but less power. On the 6000 you will get less run time, but a lot more power. What do you plan on doing?????? Bashing either one works great, the 6000kv will be a lot faster, get ready to break parts, do a lot of flips, etc, etc.. I have a 5700kv on my car did 59mph with the right gearing and 3 cell. I hope you get the steering slop fixed and have the right toe, camber, etc, etc otherwise you'll just be flipping the car, yes always flipping
Hey Vinnie, i have a 5900kv and i'm not coming close to that (all stock) i need to know your setup! gearing that is:) -Vince

RE: sprint 2 tires wear fast
ORIGINAL: HomieOC I have a electric sprint 2 flux. the tires wear within like 6-7 battery runs... what tires will last like 30 -40 runs? heres what i use. http://www.hobbypeople.net/index.php/hpi-nitro-3-x-pattern-radial-26mm-d-compound-pr.html
and btw i've tried all types of tires and those are your best bet mainly because i've decided performance outweighs longevity. Other tires may last longer like slicks but the X's have better all around performance than all others (for concrete outdoor use) I run mine for about 10-15 runs before i replace, don't get me wrong they are wore to the point of splitting open.

RE: sprint 2 tires wear fast
ORIGINAL: WindyCitySquirrel
ORIGINAL: Car-Boy Try using the same tires but now use the belted. They wear evenly as long as you have you alignment done right.
+1 Additionally, if you're running on unprepaired asphalt or concrete it's like running on sand paper. Wait until you bugger up the gear diff shafts - those are fun to replace. And watch out for rocks -
lol just got done replacing the shafts, that was fun i also realized there are "hard steel " versions of these (shiny metal not black) which i should've bought, apparently the stock ones are no good and won't last long.

RE: SPrint 2 flux belt keeps tearing
I've gone through about 6 belts (3 front, 3 rear) and have come up with this "prototype" housing for the rear belt and gears. I'm a 3d artist so i'm thinking of getting it printed in plastic so it will last longer, so far it has done a great job! i'll let y'all know if i get this printed, i'll make sure to get multiples if anyone is interested.
