RE: New FMA Web Site Launched!
I have a question which has been raised by some Electronics Techs regarding our ESC's and motors. These two friends who have experience with controllers, although not in our application, are sceptical about the amps we say we are drawing from out batteries through our ESCs to the motor. They say that if we were to draw say 45 amps according to our watt meters we shoud see a severe drop in our battery voltage and therefore we are not really drawing the amps we thing we are. Further, they say we would be frying our wires etc if we really were drawing the amps for anything other than momentarily.

RE: F2G Corsair Build Sneak Peak!!!
Hi Luke, Long time no talk. Happy day, I just found and bought my Royal Corsair Kit. All complete except the cockpit canopy is a little damaged. As you are doing, I want to do the old #57 F2G. Somewhere in the past you had fuse drawings on your site for the modifications. Do you still have them and could I copy them? Also, I found this site which you may already know about http://www.airrace.com/CorsairStatusList2.html. If you remember, when you were in Florida I had told you about the information given to me by Dick Becker about all of Cook Cleland's F2G's. I still would be happy to share if you are interested. RE: F2G Corsair Build
Dion, No funds, won't sell. I can copy and fax any materials I have. Let me know a fax or email number or address. I am heading for Florida in a week and won't be able to send anything after that. I will be at the SEFF in April in GA as my next event. Best Regards, CanAmDick my email is dimberio@arczip.com

RE: corsair colors need help!
The moveable surfaces (elevator and rudder) on the full scale were fabric covered. Solartex would be a good choice to cover them.

RE: F2G Corsair Build Sneak Peak!!!
Dion, What a find this forum is. I used to live a few miles from Cook Clelands airport in Willoughby, Ohio. I admired that plane as a kid. Saw it compete in the 1949 Cleveland National Air Races. I was about 11 at the time. A couple of years ago I communicated with Richard "Dick" Becker who was Cook's mechanic and co flyer of the F2G's in various configurations. Dick sent me three views of 5 different set ups as piloted by Ben McKillen, Jr, Cook Cleland, Richard Becker, Tony Janazzo and Becker again. Included are Number 57, #94, (clipped and radically clipped) #84, and #74. According to my research some of the Bureau registration numbers are incorrect, some say accidentally and some say on purpose including #57 which had N5588N on wings and tail. Of significant interest is that the color design specifications for # 57 are included. I have been looking for a kit to modify and to build for electric power off and on. Currently building a 58" Tiger Moth for electric power. Before I go any farther, I am not in your league as far as scale detail is conderned, however, I do feel motivated for proper outline, shape and major structural design. If you would like any of my materials I would be happy to share. I also have a VHS tape that Dick Becker sent me of the 1947 Cleveland National Air Races including the Thompson, Bendix etc. Best Regards CanAmDick

RE: large electrics
If you want large and relaxed flying, try a glider or motor glider. I have built and fly two of the same model. My planes are an old motor glider design called a "Butterfly." I fly then on 10 cells, AXI 2820-10. They weigh 4+ lbs. One of them is as designed with a typical double dihedral wing design. The other I built with only a single dihedral, with ailerons & flaps. Good luck
