RE: New Slash 4x4 owner with some Shock and battery questions.
well now that I think of it, I had aluminum towers on my rustler. mostly because my truck spent alot of time on its lid from 3s power wheelies down the street.

RE: ofna budget buggy choice
well I went out with my buddy the following day with his mini erevo, and his emaxx and got addicted to brushless again. Driving that emaxx with the MMM system 1600kv 1520 castle neu on 6s was crazzzyyy fast. My crt was brushless and neu powered so I decided I would save up a little more and shoot for an ofna lx2e kit to build up. planning to build it tame though on 4s as I want to race it.

RE: New Slash 4x4 owner with some Shock and battery questions.
going lipo will be the best thing you ever do, and I to have had good luck with the hobbyking lipos, just be willing to wait on them. sounds to me like you bash pretty hard, and you will always break things like that, so Ide just throw some heavier shock oil in and replace things as they break. 50-60wt would be a good starting point.

Leaning toward the ultra lx2. Was probably going to order something tomorrow, so a second opinion would be nice, haha.

ofna budget buggy choice
Used to be really into rc from bashing to semi competitive racing, but life took over for awhile. Buddy of mine got into it, so I think I want to get into it again. Never had a buggy but my last truck was a jammin crt, and I loved the simplicity/durability of the buggy truggy platform. looking to just buy a $300 rtr buggy to see if RC is still my thing. Ofna offers the hyper 7, ultra lx2, and the jammin x1x all for the same price and I can not decide what I want. I dont like that the jammin still has crystals, but maybe its a better in other ways. I plan on using it for 80% bashing 15% track driving, and 5% racing. Dont care about winning but it would be fun to try to atleast beat a couple guys with a budget bug. All of them will get upgraded servos, but could you guys offer an opinion.

RE: MORE E-MAXX HELP NEEDED!!!
your best bet is a mamba monster max esc ($150) and then a feigao 8xl ($70). Then gear it for a bout 35mph. (that t-maxx aint gonna go much faster than that. Then replace things as they break(drivetrain). Really save your money for a set of lipos. It feels like you double your power when going from 12/14 cell nimh to 4s lipo. its unbelievable.

RE: Buying Rustler VXL - what extra's should I get?
I use the rpm carriers and they are $9 a set. if you have the vxl the stock bearings slide right in so for $9 you have a stronger carrier. I havent broken an rpm, but the stock one only breaks under abuse.(vxl) I think the xl-5 is weaker.

RE: Buying Rustler VXL - what extra's should I get?
I tend to break the rear bearing carriers, and the front c-hubs but once those have been upgraded the truck is NEARLY indestructible. but: I run an rpm bumper, and I just ordered a set of rpm arms for it. I cracked a rear arm but I guess you could say I abuse my rusty. thats the main reason I love my rustler is you can beat it then it will only cost you $5 to fix it.

RE: vxl vs. gt2
if he had an os .18tz I think he would have beat you either way. a nitro motor puts the power to the ground better and the tz has enough power to throw a revo around. trust me I know, I have a vxl that I run on 3s and the tz is very close if not more powerful. the rustler has a wheelie problem that holds it back too.

RE: Castle creations motor questions.
the 5700 will be faster, but it will generate more heat, and have less runtime. I personally recomend the 4600 in most situations but if you plan to just run on really low volatge(6 cell pack/7.2V) go with the 5700. both are much faster than stock unless you have a vxl.

wasp .28 pullstart?
I have been using rotostart on it since I got it and I havent had any problems, but now my rotostart motor is toasted, and I need a new OWB. im trying to keep cost down, and I would like to keep cost down, so im wanting to try pullstart out as I have never used it before. Can I use any BB pullstart or will only certain ones fit it? Could you post a link to one that will fit and then a OWB to go along with the Pull start. thanks!

It doesnt matter a whole lot if they rebound or not. Just dont leave them only 1/2 full. try to get them fairly full.

RE: The BEST wheelie bar/skid plate for the STAMPEDE
I use the traxxas and I do break it from time to to time but I stick with it becuase I like that its adjustable. When I do speed runs I like to run it really low so I dont flip over at 50+. then when I bash I can run it high so I dont land on it from a jump. If only swami made an adjustable wheelie bar.

RE: Is This Bad For A Lipo?
mine rarely fall out of balance. and if they do, I can run them in my vxl, then charge them again and they usually are balanced again. I guess its just the way that the cell with high voltage is going to drop faster.(same way a peaked battery will lose its peak in about 2 minutes.)

RE: VXL Stampede batterys
the pede is longer because they added the wheelie bar. on my rustler you have to cut out a little wall to fit a 7 cell.

10xl in a 10.7lbs. erevo. using 17/36(good for about 45mph) 30 minute runtimes were really easy to get.(I dont own the BL stuff anymore) I get better runtime with it on 5s than I do on my VXL.
