rechargeable batteries and "memory"?
Just got an OFNA rechargable reciever pack for my nitro truck. This is the rechargable hump pack to power the servos. Any one know if these batteries have a "memory"? That is do they need to be run down all the way empty before recharging or can I top them off whenever I choose. It would be nice to not let my servos ever get to the piont of no/poor power. Thanks in advance for any advice.

RE: Differential oil.
Just locked my diff. Haven't driven it much. I don't know if it will cause much wear or not. Is this why your opting for thick diff oil instead of the lock?

RE: CEN Genesis spitting and sputtering
Hmmm...is this the newer .46 or older? Use fresh fuel. Try tuning all the way rich and lean. Tune with the high and low speed needles, maybe the idle needle too. Yeah, an air leakk is always a possible cause for bad performance. Get gasket sealant from an auto shop or anywhere. You can seal the back plate, and where the carb connects to the engine (won't hurt engine even if it doesn't help). Check fuel lines for leaks. Disconnect hoses from engine and blow air through. Make sure the glow plug glows real bright and is not damaged. You will have to use process of elimination. Of course if it is an old engine maybe the internals are really worn down? In my experience nitro engines are very finiky by nature. Never ran as consistent as a gasoline engine, though perform great. I have the newer .46 engine with black cooling head...I have noticed the sputtering sound though didn't notice any effect on performance. Try messing with the low speed needle, that might make the sound go away.

RE: Question regarding the remote control
I had some serious signal problems with the new 2.4 GHz Genesis radio/reciever. Sent it to CEN for inspection. Using and FM system for the time being. Though it sounds like you have the FM system, any one else have problems with the 2.4 GHz?

RE: vote for worst monster truck !!!
These kind of threads are hard to gauge cuz everyone drives their truck at differnt levels of abuse. Some people don't know how to work on nitros. Though there probablly are some trucks that stand out as being not so great over all. Out of all my nitro monsters, it is hard to say, all Nitro monsters I have driven can tear it up. I had a Hot Bodies dirt demon that was a good truck except it had a fundemntal flaw. A spur gear half the width or less of a normal trucks. Of course I burned through pinion gears all the time.

RE: central differential lock or not?
Wheelies can be prevented by not gunning the throttle to hard off the line. The center diff makes the tires with the least traction burn out. Have since installed center lock. The CEN manual states the lock will increase transmission wear. So the diff only exists to reduce tranny wear? Guess using a center lock could be a personal preference, though I see no advantages. Center lock gets more power to the ground. Will have to drive it more with the lock to really confirm my preference, though have noticed that I can now pull wheelies...and I like that)

2.4 GHz system drain battery super fast?
Just got a Skyion 2.4 GHZ system with my Cen Genesis. Having lots of problems with signal. Signal was good for only a very little while and only tested at short distance. The support at CEN said that the 2.4 GHZ system sucks batteries real fast. To only expect 10-15 min of life with a rechargable reciever pack. They said below 10 V on the remote is to low as well (12V is new batteries) Any one else have any experience with 2.4 GHz remotes sucking batteries super fast. If this is "how they are" I'm going back to FM radios. I am pretty sure something is wrong with my 2.4 GHz system. I hope these issues are not normal.

2.4 GHZ transmitter/receiver
Just got a 2.4 GHZ Skyion controller/receiver with my Cen Genesis. So far I have had some problems with the signal cutting out. It was real bad at first, then I placed fresh batteries in the reciever and transmitter. Almost no cut out now, however I really haven't used the remote all that much so far. Any way, I don't know if this is really a problem as it appears to work at the moment with fresh batteries although the previous ones were not that old and had about 9.7 Volts left in the transmitter (new is about 12 V) I realize that the 2.4 GHz control setup is relatively new tech to the RC industry. Any one else have similiar problems with these remotes? Perhaps they require more voltage than FM/AM setup?

central differential lock or not?
I just got a Cen Genesis 7.7. I noticed that it comes with a central differntial lock. I will be putting this in as soon as I get the chance. However, I was wondering if there was any advantage to having a central differential. I couldn't think of any. By my logic it just makes the wheels with less traction spin more. The fact that Cen included a central differential makes me wonder why? (BTW I am not referring to the diffential between the right and left tires, but a central one that allows the front and rear wheels to spin at different speeds)

RE: Mini Mgt 3.0 Upgrades???
I just dropped a Hot Bodies .26 into mine. Just had to drill the holes in the chassis. Only could fit three, used red locktite. Run about a gallon so far with great power and no problems
