RE: Airbrushing: Liquid masking
Hi there, i wouldn't use it to do a sig on the car (names and the such) that's far to intricate for liquid mask, im a pro painter and i gave up using it for this kind of thing a long time ago altho i do still use it for big fills. The best way to get your name on the car using airbrushed techniques is to have a reversed mask made, if you know anyone with a plotter they can do it in a matter of minuets in any style you like. If you do still feel the need to use liquid mask for doing it just use a razor blade not a scalpel the razor will give you a much cleaner line. if you cant find anyone with a plotter drop me an email and ill cut some for you, logos and names are best done with a plotter.....!, itll only cost you the price of the materials plus postage to where ever you are. RE: Pin striping
i would Send the logo into adobe illustrator and convert it to a vector graphic then manipulate it to just as i want and then just print it out, there are a few programs that will help you do this ,coral draw and illustrator are 2 of the best which ever path you choose good luck and please do post the finished car so we can all have a look. :) Marti

RE: Pin striping
Hi there defiantly go for decals for the small lettering its the only way to get nice neat letters nice and small, you can get pro grade decal paper that is already backed in white ready to be covered with black so it pops. Here is a FTX blaze i did using decals (all graphics are decals) i did this to show some local guys what they could do with decals instead of trying to airbrush because they had not done it before. The results are stunning and masking the dragon on the bonnet would not of been possible using masking tape frisket or masking fluid but using decals not a problem. RE: Paint / Airbrush Gallery, Lets see what you've done
now that's where your computer skill comes in, but your dead right. There are programs out there that you can do it all with i use several to do different things they all do what they do well but not 1 does it all the way i like to do it so here's what i use. Adobe photo shop is excellent for photo manipulation and cutting round things to a degree. Coral Draw x3 this is the daddy off all manipulation programs for graphics and what i do most of my background removal in. Adobe Illustrator for creating vector graphics (high res print quality images) these images can be blown up to an infinite size without breaking up at all with incredibly sharp edges for printing which is what you want for very high resolution in the decal. Have a play around with some packages the more you play around the better you will become, im still learning all the time, and if you have a go and get stuck just give me a shout and if i can help you i will, if you get stuck cutting out a certain graphic i could have a look at it for you ok. Im happy to help where ever i can. Regards Marti.

RE: Paint / Airbrush Gallery, Lets see what you've done
yes seatec that's exactly what it is, the difference is you can print them at home as long as you have a good quality ink jet printer and a little patience the results can be stunning. These are done using exactly this technique. If anyone wants any printing i could do them for you for a small cost to cover paper and inks also postage, ill also give you any advice you want if you would like to have a go yourself. Cheers marti M1DCV. Cheers dhal22, i can airbrush kind of well but for real intricate work where you want a really fine logo or image of something the results are quite simply stunning, photo realistic infact. Happy painting all. Marti

RE: Paint / Airbrush Gallery, Lets see what you've done
if you want to make high quality full colour stickers that look great juat use water slide paper and print them on an inkjet printer and spray over them on white or another light colour. The paper is cheap and the results are stunning. Anyway here is 2 of my creations using the above technique. RE: candy paint?
yes your right with the order of aplication, candy first then silver. I would suggest doing a test on an old cut of bit of lexan to see if the ez off strips or not it will also allow you to gauge the amount of candy you will want to use to get the finish required. Allways do a test first if your not sure, remember you only get 1 shot at it and getting it wrong inst an option, test first admire it later. let me know how it goes. Marti
