RE: Laws of RC and UAV planes?
I speed on the oppisite side of the road while smoking a cigarette talking on the phone and waving my middle finger out the window ask my wife. And class A airspace is public property. And buzzing cars is the next best thing to flying an apache over the barracks at fort hood. Air is free, get some.

I fly where I want, when I want, how ever high i want, Over who evers head i want. Im not going to pucker my rear end doing what I enjoy. And if someone wanted to take me to supreme court over it they can eat it. How ammused I would be to spend life in prison for unaurthorized flight of a UAV in San Antonio TX. Congress can eat it.

RE: Traxxas Nautica ESC Specs?
Oic whoopsy i thought that was the only thing you found. Dont know much about the traxxas blast but if your going to use a 540 motor i would go off the motor that came with it or something simialar such as the mabuchi 7520. At maximum efficiency it pulls 13 amps. Other than that i would email traxxas. Are you trying to put a larger motor in? Or lower turn? http://www.alphalanding.com/rc-track/rs_540rhsh.pdf

RE: Traxxas Nautica ESC Specs?
What information are you looking for? its rated at 8.4v 7cell nimh or nicd. doesnt have a low voltage cut off so not lipo friendly must use a external low voltage if you want to use lipos with it. Why use that esc? Show us your boat and what your plans are...

RE: 320a brushed esc
It could easily run dual 380s. I only purchased one but i even ran 28.8 volts through it with no load for maybe a min on and off the throttle with a 700 motor on the line. I am quite impressed despite the slandering of cheap chinese products i give it a hundred stars. One thing if you do give it higher voltage i would check your bec voltage before hooking up a reciever. At 21.6v it was 6. something but at 28 spiked up to 6.9 which most would say is unsafe for a reciever and highly un recommended for a servo as it will create a ton of heat

I bought the regular 7.2v one. It runs great for the price but does not have any settings. I can personally say i ran this in a boat with 21.6v lol. I dont see why it wouldnt run ok with 9.6 in a car. Watch the temps tho make sure the fets arent burning up

RE: To UBEC or not to UBEC? (help)
I wouldnt worry about it at 4s or even 6s. The bec power is only a small fraction of what your pulling. If anything happens to it the last thing you should be thinking did it was a standard servo and receiver power draw. But to each his own it wouldnt hurt to have it and epoxy the ubec either instead of ballooning it every time just use a soft epoxy to prevent pulling of anything on the board.

RE: Miss gieco batteries?
Higher c rating would lessen the chance of the esc and motor not getting enough amperage and leave the window open for upgrades w/o having to worry about getting more batteries down the road. 65C would be a great choice!

RE: Miss gieco batteries?
As siberian husky suggested to me think about the future when getting stuff for your boats or even other rc vehicles. I dont know what the amp draw is of the miss g stock motor but lipos shouldnt be discharged at more than 80% of there capability. Doing so will hopefully prevent damage or complete failure. To calculate max disharge multiply mah capacity times c rating such as 5000mah X 25 c= 125,000mah or 125ampsX.8=100amps safe motor draw. Ive read most people use atleast 20-25c 5000mah batteries 2X 2s or 2s+3s in series but some have had luck on 5s due to the low amp esc i suggest you upgrade and run 5s you will be happy. If you ever really feel tied u on what to do go to rcgroups.com they are pretty active there and very helpful. Goodluck!

RE: prop needed
Eco i believe is a brand>>> https://astecmodels.co.uk/catalog/index.php?cPath=2_88 Hendric is right take some pics and measurements. and to be honest ive never seen a metal prop that is threaded but if your prop stub is threaded and long enough you may be able to add a drive dog+regular prop+prop nut if you know the threading or buy couple different threading/sizes to figure out which fits. http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-80005 http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/products.php?cat=upgraded+rtr+props http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-8135 A different size of drive dog, prop inner diameter or adapter such as 1/8 to 3/16 fitting for a 1/8 shaft and 3/16 in. prop and the prop locking nut with the same size/threading as your shaft. If your handy enough with tools or just know how you may be able to thread the side of a metal prop and still attach a prop nut for extra precaution of it coming loose with out a drive dog but its your boat and my suggestion keep us updated i see that boat is small you could make it a little power house check this out>>> http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1319724

They sell the wild cat ep here in san antonio for 140 brand new at hobby town usa. Secondly i would never recommend anyone ever ever get a aquacraft. I apoligize for mistaking aquacrafts mini and ep versions they are actually 230 rtr http://www.hobbytown.com/Shop/Wildcat-EP-Brushless-Offshore-Catamaran-2-4GHz/ I highly encourage you to buy anything but aquacraft tho. Im sure these guys could give you a few links to there fav rtr boats under 300 they could point out a couple that are twice as reliable as aquacraft.

RE: How low can I run 14.8Volt 5800 Lipo's
As long as the watt meter is cheaper than your setup you would most likely definitely save money especially with someone like me. Im getting my first lipo brushless system soon. I might know how to do math i.e. 30c X 5000mah= 150a discharge capable X.8 discharge cap safezone for lipo longevity. But what i wouldnt know is the actual quality of these lipos or if they even can discharge safely at 120rA. But with a watt/amp meter one can actually trouble shoot problems like the esc overheating or in thunder nuts case low quality or damaged lipos if they wernt discharging adequate amperage. Thats another reason im not ordering a thing until i have enought money to get my whole setup including spare collets and flex cables. I hate not being prepared or stuck up ish river with out brushless power... So yes you guys could be right but Thunder butt never even told us his setup and is probably humored off this if hes lurking about

Lol when keeping it real goes wrong... The whole point was Thunder Nuts boat would run fine under 9lvc but he could NOT run it at the 12v lvc past half throttle. Its stupid obvious the culprit is the esc as two different packs performing great with lvc set to 9. Suggesting he leave the lvc at 12v and run the boat for one minute than bring it back for a battery switch is just irrelevant and redundant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please please please tell me you meant 33 celcius

It does jeez my bad cant see it all from the angle of the photos. Its the one that came with it right? Theres no reason why it should have play and why it would be causing the drive setup to act up is a no brainer. Its not vibrating while running?Take another photo of the back end with good resolution and is it a lead teflon bushing in there or brass? Id start a new thread Catch someones attention that may know...

RE: How low can I run 14.8Volt 5800 Lipo's
True but if you look at thunder nuts other post its unlikely that 2 diff batts are doing this. An accurate test with a voltage meter reading right after the lvc kicks in would be the best way w/o data logging. Or you could get this and set it at the voltage you want and it will tell you if the esc is the culprit and kicking in too early http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__19945__H_King_Cellmeter_6_Lipo_Life_Li_ion_Cell_Checker_Alarm.html

You have no strut bushing!!! No no no lol jk im pretty pretty pretty sure you need one and would explain the high amount of friction and low speed. Why in one direction i have absolutely no clue. I wish one of the pros would give some advice. If you look a few pages back NobodyFamous said he drilled the strut out to fit the 3/16-1/4 bushing in the strut and the stub shaft into the bushing. Those two metals rubbing is a no no

RE: How low can I run 14.8Volt 5800 Lipo's
Guver is right you may want to get a new pack "BUT" if you pack is running fine with good run times with the lvc set at 9(im guessing there is no inbetween 9-12 because you would have tried) than get a secondary low voltage buzzer. Why Bill recommended leaving your lvc at 12 when its not working for you idk lol. And ouuuuuuu good stuff srt10 ive been looking a table like that. But those would be the voltages off a high quality pack with no voltage sag or memory damage right? What can he do than srt10 to ensure hes not over discharging his pack beyond the nominal 14.988V 80% discharged 4S pack?

RE: Genesis Offshore Brushless RC Twin Hull (1045mm) from HK
You switched the motor as well and it didnt work or just loosened it? You should take a picture i dont know anything about a sleeve bearing being that small but i have an idea of how it works. The brass bushing in the photo should support the full length of the prop shaft. As for the sleeve bearing maybe it goes around the bushing? Are you using a sleeve bearing to support the prop shaft? That might be the culprit im pretty sure you should have a proper full length cross drilled bushing as in the photo

that small amount of water and grease coming through there is normal because of the screw effect. no need to worry about it now with the sleeve. did you have enough tube left to reconnect it or you just replacing it? You solved that now whats next? whens the 2150 coming and what are the dimesions of them both?! Is this your first boat?!

RE: How low can I run 14.8Volt 5800 Lipo's
No its perfectly fine as long as you find an accurate way to measure your voltage while running which i recommend a low voltage buzzer with an led light. Or you could manually check it after running maybe 2-3 minutes and 1 minute intervals after that. But its more a hassle that way you need a mutli meter and have to run it the same and time it. If you end up getting a low voltage buzzer look for one that stays on after reaching a low voltage. The voltage might drop under load while its too far away to tell and when you bring it in slowly the voltage will go back up on the battery and you wont even know.
