RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
the engine in my mt2 is a lrp z.18s pro. I think associated make it for LRP. I choose it because the rpm is simlar to a o.s, and there has been some great reports about the engine. I give it 10/10 for reliability, starting, tuning + SPEED!!. oh and another reason for getting a lrp...there is hardly any o.s engines available in the UK. But then, I dont run the mt2 anymore. Im now into fulltime racing. I never bash anymore. Been racing for about 4months. And I love my novarossi REX [:)]. (Was a donkey to break-in. Because it being a race engine. They have a really TIGHT pinch)

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: giants17 One more thing, i just upgraded both of my servos to Hitec 645's, and after a couple of tanks the steering servo would twitch. Another tank after that it seemed it did not have its full range of moton, and it would act as if the trim was being changed continuously. I took it apart and left all the gears in except the one connected to the servo horn's shaft, and the gears moved continuously, without touching the transmitter(it was on though). BAd servo? Fixable?
try new batteries. When my batteries go dead in the rascal both my servos hitec 645mg steering and 635mg throttle twitch and start going wild and motionless. [8|] Anyway hows all your mt2's going?. Ive just boxed all mine up. Ready to be sold [:o] Ive kept my lrp z18s pro engine though. Just stuck the rebuilt t-15 back in.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
roto-starts are a pain in the backside. Pullstart all the way!. You will find if you prime your engine well and give it short, sharp, quick pulls the engine will fire up in 2 pulls and you wont break a pullstart ever again. The main thing about starting a engine is getting it primed just right.
ORIGINAL: fiskdog Quick Question: I broke my pullstart :( Can I just use a drill to start it? It looks like a regular hex nut on the back. I know its a one way nut, but would it work???
get a new pullstart mate. Or get the rotostart system. If you find that to expensive get the tiger drive roto starter system. It comes with the starter backplate and a drill bit. [:D]

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: mark_y Thanks for your advise! Hey I like the pics of your MT 2.... What kind pipe do you have on there? Is that thing able to pull wheelies???
ha thanks [:)]. No its unable to pull wheelies because of it being 4wd and having alot of traction. The front does sometimes lift up when doing 0-full throttle, but i dont know if that counts as a wheelie [:D]. My rascal in the gallery is able to pull wheelies on DEMAND!! [8D]. The pipe ive got on the mt2 at the moment is a tsais nitro devil [:D].

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: mark_y How harmful are nitro exhaust fumes? My main concern are all the kids in the park that gather around my MT2 while I'm getting it started up.
dont worry about it mate. Your in the park, its well ventilated [:D]. The fumes are very dangerous (carbon monoxide) is produced when burning nitro fuel. It can kill you instantly if you were in a enclosed room with no ventilation [X(]

RE: Firestorm leking out of the carb-is this normal?
so your saying fuel comes out the top of the high speed needle?. No this is not normal. You could have a blockage. Unscrew the needle and give it a clean. Get some pictures showing were the fuel is actually coming from [;)] oh and take your carb off and give it a clean up and closer inspection

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: whitebreadoverlord I'm still working on getting the truck back to working order. It was used, so I guess that's what you get. The spur gear stripped, for some unknown reason, so I bought a metal one online. It was a 49t so that meant that I needed a bigger clutch bell. I got a HPI 16t bell, yet it won't fit on the long baring thing that is on the stock MT2 bell. It looks like there is a groove in the center of it that would be for seperating two ball bearings. What should i do? Can I buy these bearings or is there another way to get it to work? on the package that the bell came in it said savage, but it's the same as the one on the MT2 right? Please Help! Thanks
Yes you will need to buy bearings. You will need x2 Ball Bearings and the size is (5x10x4mm). You can buy them from nearly any hobby shop. Good hardware stores usually supply them aswel. Oh and long bearing you are on about is called a needle bearing. They are rubbish and cause to much play on the clutch bell over time. The 49/16T combo is fine. Just do not go over 16t on a clutch bell [:D]
