I bought a set of hot racing center cups for my xs. After only a couple of battery packs the rear cup split in half when i landed a small jump. Anyone else have any problems with there cups? matt

i've seen that tower has a "complete brushless evader transmission" for i believe 17.99. is this all that is needed to upgrade so that my evader will handle my brushless system. i've been down a couple months because i striped a gear in the trans.

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
got my new esc from hpi today. so i took out my vxl esc and tacon motor to put the hpi esc and motor back in. hooked everything up and programed the esc. run it for a few mins on the stand and everything was fine. got everything ready to go run it and hooked the battery up and poof another cloud of smoke. 2nd time it has happened and never made it out to the yard. maybe my motor is messed up and causing the esc to smoke. ill call hpi tomorrow and see what they say. matt

i was out running my xs today when i busted a rear hub. i believe that's what it is. im attaching pictures to show what im talking about. no jumps or anything just racing around the yard. the truck went cart wheeling across the yard and when it stopped the back tire was at an angle. i was wondering if anyone makes an aftermarket one or if i should just replace with stock ones? thanks, matt

RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
from my experience with this truck i have to recommend you not use a 20c lipo in it. these trucks pull alot of current and i dont think 20c will hold up. also you can expect the esc to go up in smoke if you connect a 3s battery. i ended up replacing the esc, motor and steering servo. great truck not so great electronics. matt
ORIGINAL: rc theman I'm thinking about getting one of these machines, what breaks first usually?? And what mods should I get off the bat? Also will my lipos fit, I got 2 sky lipo 2s 4000mah 20c hardcase, and a 3s 4000mah 20c sky lipo hardcase
RE: Official HPI Savage Flux XS thread...
first time out i hit 180 real quick. before i even knew it, that was with the 28t. i dropped a couple teeth and it took longer to get hot and i stopped when it hit 170. i dropped down to 23t and run it today and got the longest run time before i hit 160 then stopped. i normally run my motors around 150.

RE: Going BRUSHLESS in a traxxas Stampede
that link didn't work for me. but i run the hobbywing system with 60 amp esc and 8.5t motor. i have been running it probaly 6 months with no problems at all. it is very strong and bolts right in. i run a 3s lipo battery so i had to make my own mount for the esc but it was easy. great system and it all works great together. good luck! matt

thanks, got the wires out but not before i broke one of the wires. i had read that there was problems with the esc in these trucks but figure i would get more then 2 min out of it. i set the esc up and was setting my fail safe and poof esc smoked. are these esc's that bad? should i just buy a better esc or wait and see if the one they send me is any better?

my first choice would be contacting traxxas. im sure they would replace the motor for you if you just got it and that happened. if not then you haven't lost anything.
