OS GT 33 GAS ENGINE
Does anyone know if there is a exhaust pipe made that will fit the gt 33 to use with a tuned pipe? I'm wanting to mount it in a Black Magic pattern plane. I'm also trying to come up with a way to soft mount the engine and use a nose ring. Have any of you tried this set up yet? Thanks, Bob.

Hi Nitro Wing, Hope you don't mind me jumping in here but I agree with you. Robart electric retracts will be great. I put electric servo operated retracts in mine. JR low profile servos. They work well. Just can't get the proper angle on the front nose gear. If anyone out there is interested , I'm going to sell a complete used twinsync set up including onboard glo, nacelle batteries and switches, and the digital tach display that they no longer make. Give me a PM if interested. Thanks all. Just an update hear. The twin sync I mentioned had been sold. Thanks you.

Rick ask me to post the pics on my progress painting the Black Magic. Thanks for the help today Rick. The extra set of hands was greatly appreciated. The plane is all white underneath and here she is with the shot of Orange. The Black is next. Mark Atwood had some of the nicest Black Magics I've seen. This one will be similiar but with different colors.

Thanks for the info JoeMamma. I love the scale look of the 3 blades also. This is the first plane that I have had with engines this small. I need to order some smaller props. She'll probably sit till spring now. I'm usually flying OS 1.60's or a moki 210. I've seen a buddy of mine break 100 mph with his 310. Scale flight is fine with me also. The 11x6 your using, is that a 3-blade or 2 blade? Thanks again. Have a Great Thanksgiving. Bob.

Hey JoeMamma, What size 3 blades are you running? I'm running graupner 11x7 3 blades on OS 55 ax's and getting around 9200 rpm. Going to try 2 blade 11x7's. The 3 blades are taking about 350' at 22.5# without flaps for take off. Thanks Bob.

I'm using a JR 4.8m 1100 Mah for the receiver, with a backup 4.8, 1100 to the receiver and twinsync with digital tach.. On board glo is a c cell in each nacelle.I also have a seperate 4.8 dedicated to the retracts. I did a conversion and installed 3 JR 791 retract servos for my electric gear. I have a 4th 4.8 dedicated to the lighting. All 4 batteries are in the nose. I made my door operational for access. I took the lead shot out of the nose and balanced the plane with my battery weight in the nose.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted
I have to agree, they fly very nice. I removed the shot from the nose and added 3, 4.8 battery packs and 2 switches. Made the doors functional for access. 1 pack just for gear, 1 for receiver and 1 for back-up. Still had to put 3 oz of shot back in to balance. I am using electric servo operated landing gear. Adapted hangar 9, 1.50 gear to it with JR 791 servos. Also foamed the wings. It also has 2 c cell batteries. 1 in each nacelle for onboard glo. The weight does add up. I talked with a fellow a couple of weeks ago said he's flying one thats electric powered at 24 lbs. 17 lb would be sweet.

Been along time coming but I got my maiden in today . She flew great. Used about 400 ft of grass strip for a smooth take off. 21.5 lbs, Twinsync & OS 55's with graupner 11x7 3 blade props. Just had to add 3 clicks of down elevator at full throttle . Very smooth landing with full flaps.

Hi Stegl, I did remove all the weight in the nose and made the compartment door operational. Mounted two switches there. They are removable for battery access. I actually have three 4.8 battery packs mounted in the nose. One is for the gear, one for flight controls and the third is back-up controls. I plan on flying it this summer. The drop in electric retracts would be great, but I was trying to watch the budget. Bob.

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?
Hi there Barry, Haven't been on here for a while but I've been flying mine with an OS 1.60 and it handles it just fine. If your going to 3D with it , I find the 1.60 lacking a little for pulling straight up out of a hover. I'm not that experienced as a 3D guy. Might just be me. I had a moki 2.10 in it and it would really scream. The only problem was starting the moki inverted. I'm considering putting the moki back in at an angle or possibly even a side mount because it is one haulin motor.

RE: Top Flite Cessna 310 posted
Hey there testfly. Really like your shop. Nice pics. Haven't been on here for awhile but was readying the post on electric gear. I've just installed a set of servo operated gear in my 310. I used an old set-up from a Hangar 9 P-51. Retracts with JR 791's. Cut these down to size. Had an extra set so, I used the same and custom made my steerable nose gear. The items I used were already in the shop so I figured they would work just fine without alot of extra cost. If anyone's interested I'll show some pics as soon as I complete this set up. I'm about 98% complete.

RE: Super Tigres Made in China
Hi there boex, I had a 2300 quit on me yesterday and had tthe same situation as you did. I'm new to the 2300. I recently picked up a Quique 72" yak with the 2300. I mostly fly OS engines. I have a perry pump 0n the 2300. This engine will run great for about 5 minutes. If I do a reverse cuban 8, it will idle down and not recover on the rpms after going inverted and pulling through this manuver. I'm thinking about taking off the pump and trying it. It ran well before without the pump for the previous owner. Engine temp is not the issue. It was 149 deg on an 80 deg day. If anyone is running a perry pump? What is your ball park settings on engine and pump? Thanks guys.

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?
HI all, thought I'd jump in here for an update on my Reactor. Sorry to see your mishap sportflyer 3. You'll have her up and going in no time. As I showed before I was using a Moki 2.10 on my Reactor and it was a true powerhouse. However, I got so frustrated trying to start that inverted Moki without it flooding, that I decided to change engines. I was not going to have to turn the airplane upside down just to start it and safely turn it over again to fly. My best friend Rick fixed me up with a nice pumped OS 1.60. I pulled my dual 6V batteries from way back in the fuse and moved them up to the firewall. Left the tank right back against the wing tube. Removed 1.25 oz of weight from the tail section. She balanced out by shifting these items around. Weighs 14.8 lb. The 1.60 has plenty of power. Using an APC 18x8 prop. I'm really enjoying this plane now. Happy flying guys.

RE: Great Planes Reactor 120-160?
Hey there RC11, We truly are blessed to have a great field. It's just like something you would see on a real flight simulator. I really appreciate all the guys that make this possible and keep up with it. It's nice to have a very large area to fly with out trees and buildings. The field is about 500' long and 125' wide.

I used the same method to straighten my ailerons and elevators. Got to maiden my Reactor the other day. Had to add a few clicks of down elevator. Flew great. The Moki 2.10 with a 20x10 prop really makes this plane scoot. Vertical is awesome. The plane came in at exactly 15 lbs. Made three flights so far and am very pleased with what I have seen so far. Looking forward to the next time.

RE: Does this sound like your club?
I have been a member now for 3 years at this field. I Think we have a great bunch of guys with different interest. That's OK. You Pattern guys that come to our field bring it on! I enjoyed meeting you last year and think your a great bunch. You guys from Pittsburgh that came to our picnic last year with the big planes. Bring it on. 99% of the people really enjoyed it. Dave our president this year is the kind of guy that I am grateful that our paths have crossed in this lifetime. Many others, you know who you are have become good friends. If the guy who wrote the letter wants center field, fine, I'll fly at the end of the field. I've been to most meetings and I feel anything could of been brought up at anytime. We can get along with common courtesy. If you feel you need to leave . It's OK. Best of luck to you. Look at this field. You can fly several planes at once. Here is also a pic of last years pattern guys and gals.

Tipp22v , Thanks for the video. Love watching it fly. I've been looking over past post on the 3 blade props. You guys that have actually been flying with 3 blades with OS 55AX's. What size did you actually come up with? I have a set of graupner 12.5x7's , Engines only have 2 tanks through them and 8,000 rpm is a struggle. Build is almost complete. Thanks, Your info would be greatly appreciated. From my previous post, I did get the glo driver batteries wired and switched in the nacelles with the help of a very good friend.
