RE: How old are you?
I started in 1947 stick built and solid kits. Flew controline through the 50's and 60's, built several r/c sets and planes in the fifties, about 1961 r/c sunk in and I haven't looked back. All because my dad built models and took me to the airport when I was very young, god bless him. I lived only to fly and got my private ticket in the seventies only to find out flying real planes bored me to death. Now it's quarter scale and turbine a/c. I,m 68 years young. scratch building is my biggest pleasure. DONNY

RE: Any one had older equipment cause fail safe on futaba 2.4 ?
DAN Beautiful bird! I didn't see if you have the servo voltages separate from the receiver voltage. six servos on one port? without separate voltage supply to these servos the receiver can't handle the amp draw. does your regulator separate the voltages? Donny

RE: Do It Yourself Turbine Stripdown & Maintenance
Hello! I built and early model of the wren 54. It only took about one hour. loved it![:D] It is intended for my f-14 I am scratching up, need another engine. Teardown and rebuild of these small turbines is indeed simple but it can be dangerous and costly if one isn't knowledgeable, fuel spray nozzle placement, turbine/compressor balance, and proper start procedures. can be danger areas. I have built turbines for the airforce for years and follow what i learned from the big boys happy fuel flow.............DONNY

RE: dope tissue and paint
Once the model covering is taut try krylon clear. There has been volumes written on fabric covering, the rubber powered boys do it all the time check model aviation MAG. for old articles you wont believe the fine workmanship.

RE: Falcon 56 MkII Build
The falcon is one of the best models ever. just like the skylark (the low wing version) I have built several and have two on the workbench now for students. you can take all the dihedral out and it will fly just fine be not as forgiving, but nothing to take notice of, it is actually more responsive that way the falcon is a step above a basic trainer but suited to that purpose. One caution... be sure to bind the spar brace to the spar as shown on the plans I lost two falcons because the brace delaminate. Have fun...........DONNY p.s. I have flown mine with a 30 thru 45's more fun with the 45's you can always throttle back.

RE: Two Piece Wing help
OK.... look at the wings that mount into a center section that bolts to the fuse as per a one piece but..... the outer wing panels, using a tube, slide onto this center piece. (three piece wing) a little much but it gets you were you want to be.

RE: Gas Engine Beginner-No Spark
No spark is either the gap between the fly wheel and coil or a bad coil, there are two screws hold the coil in place they permit the gap to be adjusted, ....... turn the flywheel until the magnet is beneath the coil, place a used credit card or match book (spacer) between them, loosen the screws and permit the magnet to be drawn down trapping the spacer, retighten the screws remove the spacer. now try for a spark! you must spin the fly wheel rather fast to produce a spark. Good luck DONNY lemme no if it works.[:)]

RE: plans for Hall Springfield Bulldog
BR1 The wheel pant fairings are epoxied on to the fairings and the fairings bolt to the L.G. It took me a long time to figure out how I wanted to do it but this seemed the best way. I haven,t weighed the b'dog yet but it has a pretty good heft to it with the engine bolted in. THANK YOU ...........DONNY

RE: RE:
Bill the lowering of the engine in general will tend to cause a pitching problem especially at high throttle, alittle more detail and some pics as to why this is necessary may help to come up with a alternate solution.

RE: Installing retracts in Koas 60
FV seems you have it figured out. if you can, Please post a picture of the nose steering set up so we can have a clear idea of how you did it. Placing the fuel tank on the C.G. is the preferred method to prevent c.g. changing with fuel consumption. when I complete my current build I hope to get back into the fun side of modeling and put my kaos back into the air. RE: "Nosen Cessna 310 Club"
2engsout You are Right on the beam with my thoughts I was looking on airlines.com yesterday for the very reasons you mentioned, changing the shape of the nose is no problem! Let me see what you have and maybe I can come up with the changes you want for all to use. but I have to tell you I am snowed with all manner of honeydo's and build projects so things may move slowly but I really want to try. look for a pm....If we work together I think anything is possible. scratch building is something I prefer but three views for the "R" I do not have. the Hostetler drawings appear to be stellar he does excellent work I have considered buying a set or drawing my own, just to busy to begin another project right now. Also Nosen Cessna 310, Ziroli c-47, an P-38. just to mention the twins so many planes so little time! Donny
