RE: E10 RTR Ford GT LM Race Car Spec II vs tamiya tt-01es
The 3rd channel would have a simple relay switch attached instead to turn on and off the lights. My rc heli has that - it's a button on the radio :)

Umm okay - wow. Yeah, I'm a nob pilot, and i was thinking about the same thing. I dosconnected the ailron rod ( L and R) to shorten it too, but haven't had the time yet to do so yet. This model, unlike my older walkera #4-3b is flyable. the former was well, an abortion from China. I'll try to digest that other jargon posted above but I need a translator!!!! lol

I got a Tamiya Evo X body, and it came with all the body clips needed to add LED lights. I took an Axial LED kit and paired it up - they fit awesome. Four white LEDs in the front to drive, and two reds in the rear. Good enuf for me, or anyone else that thrashes in the dark!

the e10 looked cool, but for those that usta own the old skool electric original RS4, well, yeah. We all laughed at the e10. No, seriously, we all got togther and laughed very hard at it. We sell a music CD of our laughter b/c it was such a hit :) Yeah, the e10 was a big "no-go" on the HPI line. Such a dissapointment, b/c they have an array of good hobby products!!! :)

I would also like to support the mad modder's choice. The e10 is getting discontinued, if it isn't already done. The tamiya TT01 series car uses many parts along the whole tamiya parts catalog, not to mention the vast aftermarket support for it.

Yeah, I hear you. Right out of the box, my X wants to hover but banks hard right upon takeoff. If the trim or adjustments won't help inside 7 days, it will be deemed "unflyable" and I will demand an absolute full refund.

RE: MSR X
Okay - I got my answer for you. Yeah, you won't like the answer either. According to Gary @ my local hobby shop (LHS) - Gary said that Blade uses a simple part number system, just like any other solid rc company, like Team Associated, Losi, or Tamiya. He said, that they're just like that, and if the part number doesn't match, then it most likely will not fit. We talked together, and I said that it looks like that they fit, and then we both discovered further on that the mounting holes do not match up between the X and the older msr airframes. The upper airframes between the two are different, and have different mounting size holes, in different positions. Sad to give you the bad news. The good news, however, is that Gary verified that the msr and msr x have the same Tx, so you can go ahead and get a BNF X series heli. So, all in all - I learned something cool, and I helped out a fellow brit across the pond. Please exchange the favor - pay your knowledge forward :) I wanted the original msr, but I couldn't find a new one for sale - is this being discontinued by Blade with the X version?

I just got it in the mail - I'm charging the batteries on the charger as I type this. I'm going to call Gary instead @ the LHS and ask him about the size/ compatibility on the skids. I'll repost here in about 15mins from now and give you his answer . . . .

RE: MSR X
The LG and battery tray look the same, and the two choppers are pretty close together in size, so I guess so. There's a blade msr at the hobby shop. When I get my msr x, I'll try and take it down there to compare them and take a look. The controller from your msr may only work if it has a functional CP control on it. Otherwise, it should BNF with no problem. * edit - They're the same controller. It'll work.

Yah, you can get, or make your own 2-1 harness, soldering on your favortie connectors. The main thing is to give the esc the courtesy of letting it know that it's running a 6S split - grab a booster cap set and bridge it between for max power and no squirreling! :)

Oh boy - I hope that I have some good luck with the MSR X. I was studying both that and the 120 SR, and I hope I didn't make a mistake. A few years back, I got an unflyable 4ch Walkera 4#3b, which made me sad b/c it was my 1st 4ch. Whatever the case, I am excited about this new MSR X and I like is smaller size.

I will watch this build with great interest! Sub'd!!!! :) The action figure I already got for my Tamiya re-re Buiser is Dayrll Dixon from the Walking Dead. Hah - I called it 1st - no copying my Dayrll Dixon idea!!!! j/k :) Back to the topic - I really like the build so far. I learned too that a file is always a great tool when building a kit, stock or modding! Sad to hear about the shock seals. Was it the bladder that popped or did the o-rings let fluid pass by?!?!?!? Sorry - I don't exactly know about those particular shocks. Can you use o-rings from other shocks perhaps? I have done that a million times :)

RE: please help me identify this chassis!
ORIGINAL: Griff223 I have a tt01. I want to do drift, and I hear most people complain about it being lame for drift.
Not really. Tamiya makes good cars, durable, almost like a Tonka Truck when the USA usta maked their own toys. Tamiya in Japan made a million TT01 series cars, and "drifting Tokyo" was big back in their day, after the American movie "The Fast and the Furious". That seemed to appeal to every teenager in Japan back then, but they wanted a USA Mopar muscle car to do a sick power-slide, never seen before. Hench, the drifting generation - made in Japan, inspired by America. So, aside from the history lesson, the Tamiya TT-01 is a good car to start. Hard plastic wheels, 1/3 more front wheel traction with akerman steering, BL, light, and LEDS and cold cathode bars to biling it all up!!!! Wasssupppp!?!?!?!!? Cool card charlie - that whats up. Bazo down in AU is my home boy. He can drift like we talk our own native tongues. :)

Touche - yeah, I've seen some wicked sick setups on the VDF Tamiya car, which - no offense - is a high rail dbl wall monster drifter that looks like a 550 class BL only belongs to. Don't enen need to dbl belt that thing. There's 22 aftermarket companies w/ akerman/ high-point steering and +1, +2, ans +3 front gear diffs. Plus rear lockers for the back diff :) Yeah, this American has been just sitting, watching. Bring more cool videos though!!!!!! Wicked sweet!!! :)
ORIGINAL: Griff223 well id like to do drift, so if I can get this thing to countersteer and do what I want, then ill keep it. otherwise, idk.
I completely understand. I can only get so many parts of eBay for my one-off custom old skool Jap terror monster o' mine. If you like drfiting, then 4WD belt-driven is the boss on top of that world. It's expensive, but there's a guy in AU that uses low-cost HPI shaft-drive cars for his drift videos You have got to check this out - it's wicked! I'm a sticky traction 4WD TC kind of guy, but I'm also a fan of the drift. Check this out: boza's hilarious drift car cartoon series down under

RE: please help me identify this chassis!
Wow - I was stumped too. It still looks to me like a nice basher. I'm only saying this b/c whoever made that one-off chassis plate looking thing (primitive), it still looks like someone had fun. I have those same exact shocks on my heavily MODDED TA02, and they're almost close to the TRF dampers, but cheaper (cheap alum). I got stumped b/c the front end looks like Tamiya, the chassis and motor mount looks like an RS4 HPI electric conversion, with AE TC5 rear uprights . . . and then I said WAIT ONE - I gotta look again. Nice find! Are you going to sell it or restore it and drive it?

RE: XErun 150A and CC CapPack ?
I have heard that it helps out. It's kind of cool, but I've only seen it used w/ 4S and up. That's got to be the reason I think. Some people made their own caps for their escs for Tekin and LRP when they used the big lipo packs.

RE: Liquid cooled esc concept experiment
The same crap my old man does after he retired from HP with the liquid-cooled over clocking the CPUs. He looked only once at my setup and said that one day it'll mimic what "I'm doing right now" and sure as shit we have digital networks.. I want a BL liquid cooler so I can program my MMP to kick up +12% boost on the timing endbell, via the software profile, with the C.HE.A.T. mode on sensorless mode. With my cooling system, it will run @ zero pole vs the cheat timier software, at the minimum temp like a stock motor. But my cooling system can't weigh more than 8 grams. and liquid? Stay tuned - this might be a long thread . . . .

RE: Show'n off my racers
+1 to that - good deal. Something on a neg 2.5 to 3 degrees is a fantastic start for all racers, and we all go in between those two numbers. The neg helps trail the ass end of the car on a predictable track while flying foward and steering sharp on a high bank, and on a spreadsheet looks the best. On the straight and narrow carpets, I can live inside 1.5 neg rear toe in, but it's kinda like trying to rc a flying squirell :)
