RE: How does everyone like the RealFlight G4.5?
RealFlight G4.5 is great. The upgrade download is huge (988 MB appx.) and requires a down load tool like "Free Download Manager" when dialup is used! Even with DSL the download will take hours. There are improvements, some scenery's feel more realistic in ground handling etc, others not so much. Flight responses have improved and feel more realistic. Future advances will most likely make today's sim's feel dull and clunky but that is progress! Just like laptops and computers in general, advances continue, aren't you glad? Now if people improved their awareness in awareness, actively dissolving the black fogs of confusion and blindness, and began living in the expanded compassion such an awareness brings, life and the economy would blossom.

Looks like no one has a G4 Interlink Controller that works with AFPD. [&o] OH! Yes, I found the "other thread" must be this one.

Hi Sloppy, You have 2 postings that seem to indicate 2 different machines? Your "Frankenstien" system is not a 2 core duo but it looks like a reasonable system except for the small amount of memory! If it can handle 1Gig sticks, then I would recommend you check out NewEgg to see what the fastest memory your motherboard can handle is, and compare prices. Then buy and install at least 1 - 1gb stick of RAM. What OS is running on that system? Are you happy with how RealFlight G4 is running on it?

RE: A final comparison: G3, AFPD and Reflex XTR... my own comparisons and conlcusions.
Raman, If you do not have a Transmitter radio yet, I encourage you to purchase a simulator that comes with a controller. If you buy a simulator without having either a transmitter or controller, you will not be able to use it. Another consideration is how new or old your computer is. Check to see what is called for by the simulator. The closer or faster than its requirements your system is the better it will run on your system. Running the demo on your system will help determine how well the simulator will run on your system. P.S. Any of the simulators I mentioned above will give you good flying practice in preparation for flying the Hanger 9 F4U Corsair. I assume you already know it can be a tricky plane to fly. I hope you have a club near you where you can get some instruction and training from a qualified pilot. If you have never flown an RC Airplane or Helicopter before, you most likely will destroy it right off the bat if you go it alone. What's worse, if your very unlucky you could hurt yourself or someone else by trying to fly with no experience whatsoever, under your belt. Many can get a plane into the air, its the failure to maintain control and land safely with a plane out of control that destroys most planes. Good Luck

OH by the way what is your preference, Helicopters or Airplanes? There is a free heli sim availaable at the following link: http://www.marksfiles.net/HeliSim/index.htm I strongly encourage you to download and view demos as possible for you. Also, try to visit a local hobby store where you can try their simulator, if one offers that.

RE: A final comparison: G3, AFPD and Reflex XTR... my own comparisons and conlcusions.
Hi Raman, I like AFPD except for the fact that it is not recognizing my Realflight G4 controller. I like RealFlight G4 best for the simple reason that it comes with a nice controller for about the same price. I have not recently checked to verify what the price of AFPD is with their controller. From reviews and by viewing the demo, I like Phoenix, and think it is a very good simulator. Any of the above simulators are a good choice, in my opinion. Good Luck. P.S. FS One is not a most popular that I am aware of, and I personally have not interest in it.

RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
I am mildly surprised that there has been an extended silence now in regard to providing help with getting AFPD to recognize my RealFlight G4 Interlink Elite Controller. I sent in a couple of email replies and then silence with no further response from Hans. Feels like someone just threw up their hands hid away in some corner, never to face the issue again. Is there not some fix for this problem?

RE: Viewing RFG4 Demo Files "***.dmo"
Hi WLR1974, I am beginning to think I may have relabed the *.dmo incorrectly, indicating that it was for RealFlight, when actually it was meant for Reflex XTR. Attached is one part of the file set. Had to change the extension to .txt in order to upload it. I have managed to play them using ReflexXTR. Thanks, I guess RFG4 does not play them. That must mean that if someone wanted to provide them for Realflight they would have to come as recordings. The file extension will have to be renamed to ".dmo" after download in order to be played. May not be useful with anything other than Reflex.

RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
Grrr! Well, I will uninstall and reinstall AFPD once again and use only patch 1.8.0.25, and yes, Version 1.8.0.17 is the number on my AFPD CD. I will try a different mouse for awhile to see if that changes things, but I like my Marble Mouse and don't intend to stop using it permanently. This time I will just uninstall and reinstall rather than clearing out the registry and deleting the folders etc. P.S. When I click on 'Calibrate' I see 'USB Interface #0, Status OK, Channels 12. When I click on 'properties,' the 'Calibrate' button is grayed out unless I connect my T9CHP transmitter. The Interlink Elite controller is connected. I tried to load 'thefield' scenery again and AFPD crashed again. RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
Hi Mike, Recent implementations; Downloaded the most recent drivers for sound card and installed them. No onboard sound card is being used, but checked BIOS for it and made certain 'onboard sound' was disabled. Opened DXDiag and set both sound 1 and sound 2 to the lowest setting by sliding the; “Sound Acceleration Level slider all the way to the left Uninstalled AFPD, deleted all “IPACS folders and cleared the registry of everything that came up under searches for; Aerofly, AFPD, and IPACS. Restarted the computer and reinstalled AFPD, then installed only “afpd18025.exe patch. When I found that the Interlink controller was not recognized I applied patch “afpd1110709.exe. There are no “joysticks connected to my computer. I have noticed that the mouse (Logitech marble mouse) seems to be noticed by AFPD as a joystick. No other mouse is used. In the Control Panel, under Game Controllers there are only two listings: Ikarus Interface, and InterLink Elite. Under Graphics “Vertical Sync is not checked. If the scenery choice of “TheField is made, AFPD crashes when Fly is clicked. I checked Event Viewer after the crash and found the following: “Faulting application afprod.exe, version 1.8.0.17, faulting module afprod.exe, version 1.8.0.17, fault address 0x00139fd6. 0000: 41 70 70 6c 69 63 61 74 Applicat 0008: 69 6f 6e 20 46 61 69 6c ion Fail 0010: 75 72 65 20 20 61 66 70 ure afp 0018: 72 6f 64 2e 65 78 65 20 rod.exe 0020: 31 2e 38 2e 30 2e 31 37 1.8.0.17 0028: 20 69 6e 20 61 66 70 72 in afpr 0030: 6f 64 2e 65 78 65 20 31 od.exe 1 0038: 2e 38 2e 30 2e 31 37 20 .8.0.17 0040: 61 74 20 6f 66 66 73 65 at offse 0048: 74 20 30 30 31 33 39 66 t 00139f 0050: 64 36 0d 0a d6.. I then re-applied patch “afpd1110709.exe. No improvements have been noticed. Wow! Sound now has an interesting quality. Not certain I like it though. "Click on CONTROLS in the MAIN MENU. You will see JOYSTICK. Make sure you click on the DOT for AIRCRAFT #1 at JOYSTICK." Right ~ However, the interlink controller is still unrecognized. I am beginning to think it may be necessary to try a complete OS Wipe and reinstall!!! But I don't want to do that, at least not yet.

RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
Hi Mike, The interlink controller is new, it is the upgrade I recently received. Yes the interlink does appear in the windows games controller when it is plugged into the usb port, and I have tried it in other ports. The drivers for my graphics card drivers I am using are correct for my card, and they are the most recent. I also have and was using the older drivers under which the same problems were occurring. When I have my transmitter connected and working, I try the joystick settings, and they only respond to the transmitter. The Interlink remains unrecognized by AFPD. The Interlink works fine with RFG4 and it is configured under ‘Game Controllers’ as ‘Interlink Elite.’

RE: Does the RealFlight controller work for AFP/AFP Deluxe? Yes it does!
Hi Mike, I am still struggling with getting the RFG4 interlink controller to work with AFPD. I have tried several solutions including switching usb ports. I found one discrepancy: "\Program Files\IPACS\AeroFly Professional Deluxe\Scenery\thefield.geo" This field shows up blank in the scenery choices within AFPD. When and if I select it the program crashes. P.S. I reinstalled AFPD and then installed update 'afpd18025.exe' then I tried the joystick and it recognized the RFG4 Interlink controller, so I tried 'Fly' and the Interlink was not having any effect, so I tried to configure it which seemed successful. I then retried to fly and nothing responded. Looking back once again into 'Controls' & 'Joystick - Properties' I found nothing responding! It lost its ability to see the RFG4 Interlink controller! I then tried 'New' for joystick and nothing was recognized. I then applied update 'afpd1110709.exe' and there was no improvement. RE: AFPD Patch
Hi Mike, I have AFPD 1.8.0.17 Is it recommended that all patches be installed, or only the most recent? I have no add-ons specifically for AFPD. I think I heard some time back that the add-ons from AFP do not work with AFPD. I am currently uninstalling all AFPD and then clearing the registry of all IPACS and AFPD entries before I reinstall. I am trying to get AFPD to recognize my RFG4 Interlink Elite Controller.

RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
Eh, Mike, I do not have any add-ons to install. Nothing else has been installed, like extra free scenery, helicopters, or planes. Clark

RE: AFPD can't find transmitter
Hi Mike, Happy New year. My RealFlight G4 Interlink Elite was working with Aeroflypro Deluxe but stopped. I un-installed and reinstalled AFPD then installed the patches; afpd18021.exe, afpd18023.exe, afpd18025.exe, and afpd1110709.exe I tried to get the Interlink controller to work and cannot get it recognized. Have you any suggestions? Thank you. Clark

RE: RC Flight Simulator Comparison Chart...
Another FREE simulator that is fairly nice albeit restricted to Helicopter flight orientation is, HeliSimRC. It can be found at the link below. http://www.marksfiles.net/HeliSim/index.htm[:D]

RE: TREX Sized Helicoptors
Hi Cyclic Hardover, What is is exactly that you find objectionable about the HDX tail rotor drive assembly? Some pictures might help :-) Is there some flying behavior that does not feel right? What might you wish you could replace it with? Happy landings.
