ORIGINAL: fast_mag Colleagues, I finally got around to painting the pilots (note the strange look in the twin’s eyes; ... Cheers, /Magnus
There is a way to prevent that "sitting on a stake" look. Increasing the size of the eyball (the black part) helps. The main solution is to paint the whites of the eyes a slightly lighter shade of the flesh color. Google "pilot faces" in Google images. Of the first 100 you can count on one hand the actual whites of the eyes you can see. Seldom if ever are the whites a glaring white. Most times they are a non distracting flesh shade. Most times you can't see any white at all.

B-29's were shot down during the Korean war as well as WWII. Is this question war specific? Regards
ORIGINAL: mobyal
ORIGINAL: Mein Duff Here's a softball.. Who was the last pilot to shoot down a B-29? 1-Tip : he was also a member of the so called ''Clean -Up Crew'' 2-Tip : Was blinded in one eye during the war
Saburo Saiki (sp?) He wasa blinded in one eye relatively early in the war, and after he returned to service flew off Iwo and mainland Japan in the closing stages of the war. But I'd always thought that a Black Widow shot own the last B-29, which had been abandoned by its crew and was flying around. The crew was assigned to shoot it down before it hit something important. Don't know the name of the pilot though. (How's the foregoing for two WAGs? LOL)
You can get the Corsair mentioned above here: [link=http://rcwarbirds.com/Flight%20Simulators/Simulator.htm]Sim planes[/link] Works in RF5.5 with retracts and flaps. Needs a bit more power, but it works. I haven't tried it with RF6 yet. several other planes there.

RE: Byron Originals Bonanza Thread & More
Wish you success in your quest. I built one nearly 30 years ago. It was my first plane with flaps. Also had Rhom air retracts. Power was an OS 60fsr. Must have been an ok flier since I still have it hanging in the basement. I wasn't ready for the effect of the flaps. The engine compartment is really cramped, and might be an area for attention.

Not a pneumatic air control valve. it was used in ducted fan installations. A UP-3 is listed in the old catalog as the control valve for retracts and doors.
ORIGINAL: YAT-28E Isn't the dihedral more like 7-8*?
I think the 85 degree reference is to the angle the retracts travel. 90 degrees extension would give the legs a splayed look with reference to the bottom of the wing. 85 degree extension allows the legs to point straight down.
