RE: Question about Clone Heli's
I have a trex 450 and a copterx 450. They both are setup the same. Digital servos, same tail gyro, ect. The radio even uses the same program. I fly the copterx most of the time for some reason but like both of them. I also got a HK450 but haven't been flying that. Bare bones from hobbycity for $30. The parts are 100% interchangleable with the trex and copterx so it should fly about the same. I used to spend a lot of time in Elbridge. Just joined the flying club in Marcellus.

RE: Just got my new heli and crashed it. Several questions.
Be careful on how low you get the batteries. By getting them too low will cause the lipos to puff. Getting warm is normal hot is not.Than they are dangerous to use. They can catch fire or blow up. Do you have a decent charger?? I run my lipos 7-8 minutes. This will also extend the life of the batteries.

RE: Need help ???
A trex 450 or clone ,copterx or HK450 from hobbycity. I have one of each. They fly nice and parts are available and reasonable. After I went with digital servos and a gy401 gyro, my flying improved. You will need at least, a 6 channel radio.I have a DX6 that I use with the helicopters and park flyers. Any decent servo will work on the cyclic but a digital should be used on the tail.As Rafael said, what and how much do you want to do??

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Did you check the gear on the tail rotor?? If it came loose, take the gear off and make the slot where the pin goes across a little deeper. I used a dremal. Then clean it up and put a drop of ca on the shaft and reassemble it. I also used a drop on the end of the gear. Make sure you don't have the belt twisted and the blades are going in the right direction and are installed properly. Looking at them from the rear of the helicopter, they have to be coming up from the front of the helicopter. If you have a question and a digital camera, posting a picture may help.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
Tail spinning left: Other than twisted belt and the tail blades on backwards and servo centering It usually boils down to whether the servo and or gyro is reversed. Place your helicopter in front ,of you with the nose to the left and than to your right. Now push your left stick to the left and observe what direction the tall slider moves. It is correct if the slider moves toward the tail blades. If you give it right control the slider should move toward the boom. If you move the boom to the right and nose left the slider should move which way by the gyro? .•••.• Yes that is correct it should move toward the boom. If you move the tail boom to the left or nose to the right which way should the slider move? .... That's right the slider will move toward the blades if the gyro is correcting property. Pull the tail toward you and the slider moves away from you and push the boom away and the slider will move toward you. Head damage after a crash: The main shaft is fairly easy to spot is bent but is best to pull It and roll on a smooth surface to see if it wobbles. The spindle shaft is a pain to pull sometimes at the field and a simple way to check it out without pulling is to remove the blades and insert a driver on to the blade holder retaining bolt and twisting it clockwise while observing the blade holders. If the blades holders wobble then the shaft Is bent. I hope this helps everyone. If you have some tricks of the trade please post them. Next, make sure the links are adjusted properly. Last, check out the tail rotor belt drive gear. The small gear on top will come loose. Sometimes you cannot tell. A drop of ca on the shaft will fix this problem. This is the most common cause of the helicopter spinning. You may have to split the frame to get at this gear. But it will have to be done.

RE: Crash,smoke,broken main blade holder
When I got mine, there was a parts listing in the manual. That had the schematics. For your info, the G2 is a direct clone of the Walkera DF 36.All the parts are interchangleable and cost less. And availability is better. I got most of my parts from helidirect. They have the best prices. I also used RCandME. To remove the main shaft, you have to disconnect the inner rod from the servo. Than there is a set screw to loosen. It will be tight but it should come out. Go to the DF 36 forum and you can get a ton of info there.

RE: Crash,smoke,broken main blade holder
First of all, DO NOT REPAIR BLADE HOLDERS. It is not safe. It will break again and you will have parts flying all over the place. And the same for blades. If the blades show any damage, get rid of them. Those blades are spinning at 2300mph plus. When and NOT if they come apart, they will cause major damage. Cases of this happening are all the web. Remember, you are not dealing with a toy.Now you have to figure why you could not zero your throttle. And if your motor smoked, a sure bet is that it is bad.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
You should have 0 deg pitch at mid throttle. You should have about -5 to _10 deg pitch at low throttle. This way, when you are on the ground, the blades are sucking the helicopter down.If you have 0 deg at low throttle the helicopter may want to fly.

RE: trex 450
First heli?? Everything on the main mast, tail boom, tail assembly. What I did was go to hobbycity and get a HK450 for $30. It is a direct clone of the trex. And use it for parts. Cheaper that way. And I would use training gear..

RE: flying on the bench
I have a setup to fly on a table. Some more experienced guys told me in no uncertain terms that it is not a good idea. Hovering that close to the bench can set up harmonics and weird viabrations and and cause problems. But since you probably won't listen( I didn't), make sure you are wearing safety glasses of some sort.I do. And keep back a ways.Make sure everything on the head and tail is ca'ed or loctited.I heard of main rotor hubs coming off and I threw a tail blade, so it happens. People have also used a lazy susan and clamp the helicopter to that.

No, I don't. But you could not see them. I gave my DF36 stuff away. I now have a trex 450, copterx 450 and a HK450. Found my flying improved. No crashes with any of them. But no nose in hovering yet. Forward, back and side to side. No 3D.

RE: only the upper gear will spin
One more word on unplugging 2 motor wires.I was using throttle hold to work on my 450.I didn't catch it but the throttle was reversed on my transmitter. When I plugged in the battery, the blades spun up at full speed.I got whacked on the arm. I had to put 2 butterfly stitches on it and a couple of big bandages.Being on plavax and a full asprine a day, it was nasty. Now I have a 2" scar. My motor now gets unplugged. I don't trust throttle hold. And I had to keep what happened from my wife.

I just got 3 of the zippys. They have the deans on them.Other batteries I got online from big dealers didn't have anything on them. They let you put on what you want. The balancing/charging plug is what I call the standard.Fits my charger.I keep my time down to 5 minutes on new batteries. So far, the zippys are great.

Astro, following what bnplu will work.It is easy to do.Just be careful not to short out any wires. Congrats on ordering a copterx. You will like it.Do you have any electronics yet.Radio, servos? I am using HB65 servos, 9250 on tail and a telebee gyro. But you can look in other forums for other ideas.Don't forget, it is a direct clone of the trex so the finless videos and trex manual will help.

In case anyone didn't know, the G2 is a direct clone of the DF36.That forum is almost dead but there are almost 12000 posts on it. Any question anyone may have should find an answer there.A lot of knowledgeable people still check in.And I think some of those guys do mild 3D.

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded
It's just the tail parts. And I had a lot of those extra.I even used the motor from the G2 in the copterx and it works just fine.I sold off some of my G2 parts and don't have enough to reassemble it.What I have left is boxed up under my work bench, waiting for a home.I am putting my time into the other 2 now.

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded
I agree with 67SHELBY. I put a lot of $ into my G2. Had to have everything that came along. But didn't help my flying.Than I got a trex 450sa for $200 and a copterx 450me for $70.The copterx is a direct clone of the trex.I used the electronics from the G2 for the trex and bought servos for the copterx.I cannot believe how my flying improved. The spare parts are interchangeable. In fact, the tail rotor system for the G2 is the same as the trex so I have plenty of parts for them. Both fly about the same. I have a 401 gyro on the trex and a telebee on the copterx. My radio is a dx6 and I use the same setup for both.

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded
If your gyro is working for you, I would not spend money on a new one. The trex and other helicopters use a pitch servo along with the other servos for the collective. They don't have a shaft in the main shaft.

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded
I have both the copterx 450 and the trex 450sa.I like them both. The copterx is a direct clone of the trex. Parts are interchangeable.I see nothing wrong with the plastic parts.I am using the ds285 servos on the trex and hb65's on the copterx. And a dx6 radio. So for the cost, the copterx may be better.Get a dx6i or dx7 radio. And the telebee gyro works good.Or the gy401 but may be a bit pricey.I just ordered 3 of the zippy 3s 2200mha 25c batteries from hobbycity.$75 and that includes shipping from hong kong.So you can look around and save a few bucks that way.

RE: Walkera Dragonfly #36
There are 2 set screws on the bottom of the main gear that have to be removed. Also, the inner rod needs to be disconnected.Than the main shaft should come out.The only way I know of to get the main gear out is to take apart the frame.Take notice of the bearing stack. If you have a digital camera, you may want to take some pictures so you will have an idea how it goes back together.

RE: The Exceed Raptor G2 Upgraded
Another thing you can try is to make a tray out of something light like 1/32 plywood. Than use JB Weld to attach it under the frame, between the skids. And maybe wire ties to help secure it.Than use velcro on the battery and tray. That and wire ties will secure the battery. You should be able to move the battery back and forward to get it in balance. You may have to trim the canopy to make it fit.

I don't have it now. I took out the electronics and it's on e-bay with all my spare parts. I have a trex 450 and a copterx 450 and I'm putting my time into them. But I just tied the battery up with the helicopter in balance.Worked out well.
