RE: OFFICIAL Detta ST THREAD **********
I was considering the 1/10 scale sidewinder as well I was trying to decide on whether to keep my brushless ST(had a dead Quark 33A procar ESC) and buy the CC ESC OR sell it and save the cash for a MERV. Luckily I stumbled upon the EXCELLENT line of EZ-Run ESCs by Hobbywing. I bought my 35 amp version shipped from Honk Kong for $39 TOTAL!!!! The ESC has taken 2,3,4 cell A123 packs, 2 and 3 cell Lipos and it gets warm with my PERMAX motor. The ESC came with a programming card as well! Yes you can program the CC with your comp and you can download new firmware and yes you do get a brandname that is more recognized, BUT at $39 for the ESC and Programming card, you can buy a new one when it dies, AND you still will be less than what you paid for the CC... sorry I don't sell the stuff just happily use it...OK i'm done with ranting now.....click if you want to see mine...
ORIGINAL: Snipin_Willy The stock electronics blow, literally. Deans are universally great connectors to use. When you start killing the stock electronics its time to think about brushless. Couple of people have used EZ-run escs with relatively tame brushless motors with great results, but you'll need to upgrade the dogbones and diffs as they go out. It's a shame these things can't hold up to brushless stock but they don't cost much either.
My permax is not tame!.....
ORIGINAL: icebreaker666 Hi, I guess this is the first post out of Germany..... I´m looking for some ''nice'' batteries and Lipo`s in the US where the shipping is not that crazy like 25$ ...... Do you know some shops who ship to Germany..I only know ''liquidrc.com'' but they don´t have batteries from Team Orion or Maxamps ?!!!! I checked every store in Berlin for some fitting packs, but htere was nothing...maybe ´caus the company MULTIPLEX sells Traxxas exclusivly in Germany...[:o]...the pins are alsoso very expensive here..... Thx in advance P.S. They have just startet to sell this Little Devil here in Germany ;-)
For a good amount of battery optins, anything that fits the LRP Shark will fit the mini revo....LRP even has some batts lited on their own site tht would be great.....

RE: Buying my first RC car
Dis you read this thread? [link]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7676565/tm.htm[/link] super helpfull with pros/cons on many different minis... the LRP shark and the Duratrax Vendetta are the same vehicle....all made by Anderson out of HK...their version is called the Anderson MB4 Truggy... If you are set on building your own, then I suggest this fast.... For $80 you can't go wrong [link]http://www.rcmart.com/catalog/rc-anderson-mini-truggy-only-mb4tkit-p-24692.html?cPath=420_1179[/link] along with this... [link]http://www.thetoyz.com/cart/thetoyz_details.lasso?id=8408&cat_name=[/link] Because it's a Kit you pick your own TX/RX, battery, Seed control, Servo.... HOWEVER.....I agree with the POST above that you COULD get a fully optioned and modded rig for far less than it would cost you to do new.... Once you get a used rig, pull up the teardown instructions of the internet, and take that baby apart for a good cleaning...Save money and learn at the expense of a bit of time

Thanks for the response! I'll see if I can find the Toshiba supply you have mentioned... I have a power supply that out puts 13.2V with 10amp which is more than enough....however I bring my batts to work so I can charge as I watch them, and the power suppky is a beast....it's 10 times the size of the charger! I just wanted somtehing portable that I could carry around easier...

RE: Which mini handles multiple terains better(grass, sand, rocky dirt)?
I would go with either the detta st or the brushed slash. both in your range for price, and both are RTR though technically the detta st is MORE RTR because you get 8 AA's for the TX as well... Although I have a detta st with brushless, A123's, If i had to do it all over again I would get the revo for it's suspension design...
ORIGINAL: chilidillo Hey Tom I have a Vendetta buggy and lets just say it's NOT my favorite. One really aggravating thing is the way the wheels mount, so about the only thing I've been able to do is put on 1/10 scale touring wheels with the adapters that are available. If anyone out there can correct me, I'd be really happy to give it a go. Just my opinion
The wheel mount issue is not much of a problem now, you can get steel cvd's that use a screw mount similat to what comes stock, or you can get a cvd kit that uses a threaded rod and the wheels mount with locking nuts, or you can just mod the plastic ones yourself. I drilled out my plastic cvd, put in a 4-40 threaded rod, and now I mount the tires with a lock nut....very common mod when the detta was still a new pup....
ORIGINAL: iTz Nicholas http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&P=IA&I=LXXWF3** It's $85 cheaper then the VXL version. I would rather get a Brushed version and sell the motor/esc and get a Castle ESC and a Medusa or Neu Motor so I wouldn't have to worry about anything overheating. I already have a 2.4ghz radio and a spare RX so I could also sell the radio so say the Revo Brushed sells for $210 on Tower. I could use a coupon and save $25 and get the Revo for $180 and then sell the Radio for around $80 on eBay and get a Brushed Revo for only $100 and then the motor, ESC, battery, and charger could probably sell for $50 on eBay and I could spend the all of $130 on a MM/Medusa or MM/Neu combo. So in the end I could be able to get a Revo 1/16 roller for $60.
this is math i can like...

actually the new bumper mounts under the body much like a skid plate...you still use the stock bumper as it has the notches in it necessary for using sway bars... I did have a rear bumper that I was testing from T-bone but I haven't heard anything from them in a long time...at the moment you can only get a front bumper... with some creative fitting I'm sure you could get a front bumper to fit on the rear though...just don't expect them to warranty the bumper if you hack it up...
