RE: POLL: Stampede 4X4 Brushless or E-MAXX?
First thing I broke was the servo and servo saver. Buy a metal gear servo and good servo saver. Just get the rpm parts now and replace as needed. Front suspension has taken the biggest hits on my pede. Good front bumper too again rpm for that too.

Where is the best deal now days for basher packs? Just maybe 6-7 cell 3800-4200mah batts. Not sure I want to go lipo yet as I don't want to buy a new charger. Last basher packs I got on eBay and they have been pretty good packs.

I am not certain the make of the gears but I believe they are the hg b2's. Crazy glitching when running them. I didn't have a spectrum radio when I ran them and even with FM I had issues. For a while I made and sold toe block braces that kept them from breaking. They worked really well but some of the neded parts became hard to find and it required a little modification to make it all work and mostpeople seemed to want a straight up bolt on part and demand dropped off.

Page 2 has some good tips. If the tranny is setup right it holds up well. I even have two metal diff gears and have better luck with the b2 gears. I guess it has been since 08! Kind of crazy.

It's been a long time since I have been on here and I can't believe the TEC has 750 pages! It appears the ext2 tranny has been upgraded but head back to some of the first pages and there are a lot of good tranny tips. I am yet to smoke my tranny. Good luck out there. Are these new ext2 parts more durable than the original plastic and the evader pro graphite?

Only driven the car once with it, but was great!!! Lots of things I can play with. Limit throttle, turning etc.... Tomorrow planning to hit the off-road track for some practice and get it dailed in. I will try and get some video as well.
That's a nice radio you got there. You will wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
I don't really know many guys who have gone to the metal spurs that were happy with it. They seem like a good idea but there really is no point. If you have your mesh set right with GOOD quality spurs and pinions you will never have a problem. The duratrax spurs are pretty crappy. Moving up to Robinson's will be a lot smoother and they are tougher. The big problem I see with metal spur is you will have to start lubing your spur and pinion. This will cause it to attract dust which will make a mess and cause the parts to wear. Making everything metal isn't always the "best" way to do things.

RE: The Evader Coalition ~ T.E.C.
ORIGINAL: Fire106 Anyone running a mamba max w/ 7700 having any problems stripping B2 gears. I have stripped 3 this month. The first two I was not surprised because I was on pavement mostly doing wheelies. BUT today I was at the local track ripping it up....MM 7700 7 cell Ener-g 4600...Moabs front and rear..(the track is soft dirt). This thing was flying around the track. I had the diff tight and the slipper tight all the way then back 1/4 turn. I could here the slipper "slipping" when it was supposed to. I thought the set up was perfect for the track....but after about 10 minutes......stripped the B2 gear. So just to make my thinking is correct. Tight diff all the way then back 1/8.......slipper should slip first few feet...right. Thats the way I set it up on my nitro evader and never had a problem. Only other thing I can think of is maybe I was staying on the throttle while landing jumps and that was stressing the trans..... Any thoughts in the diff/slipper set up.
I have always thought it was best to not back off the diff the 1/8 turn. At least I have never done it, I always snug it up and leave it there. It has worked for me thus far. Staying on the throttle isn't a good idea with those big tires. They have a lot of mass and they get crazy traction. You had the slipper all the way tight and then backed off a 1/4 turn? That seems like it would be WAY too tight. Is it possible the big tires are allowing the slip even though the slipper is tight? Also, I had a diff case (on my bro's evader) that was a little warped (I am guessing from heat but don't know) and he had problems stripping the diff gear every so often. Might want to buy a new case for the next rebuild, they are pretty cheap.
ORIGINAL: halls I rebuild my tranny with b2 diff all seam to be good but my diff keeps loosing up what should i do thank
This is caused by a couple things usually. If the spring gets too old it won't hold tight and lets the diff loosen. If the nut is old it won't stay tight either. If you didn't put the diff back together right it will loosen. It can be easy to put it back together wrong, the pics in the manual are kind of bad and if I remember right might even be mis-labeled. Careful with loctite, you may not be able to ever get it apart again.

You can boil both plastic and graphite. As for how long, don't know if there is a magical number but 20 minutes should work. Don't let the water all boil away though.

That's weird, although, fm is still going to have interference and range issues. Especially in highly developed/populated areas. Looks like DSM is in your future too. If you don't need multiple rx's and the third channel the Dx2 is a great radio. Range is farther than you can see to drive and NO glitching.

The futaba is nice too. Probably way nicer than the spektrum. I have so many radios I don't use now. I have a jrxr2i that I technically have for my crawler. Then the spektrum for the stampede and evader pro. Then I have two traxxas radios(which I don't use at all) and one stock futaba for the other evader. Then the radio with the micro-T too. I guess I need to buy more rc cars right? Too bad the wife doesn't feel that way.

The nitro axles are a little tougher but they have other benefits too when compared to the stock ones. They will still shear pins if you work them hard enough. Just plan for the weak link that way you have spare parts. I know that I occasionally will shear a pin or lose one so I keep some extras. That way I am never out of commission more than a few minutes.

Hey guys, Think about this a little. What is easier and cheaper to replace, those little roll pins or something further up line? They may be a weak link but if you start making everything solid up to the diff then what will break next? You can bet the diff will start to take a pounding! In my opinion the last thing you want is to have to be fixing the diff all the time. Get a bunch of them roll pins and replace them everytime they break. Quick and easy fix compared to the diff work. You guys with these high powered brushless setups WILL break stuff. That is a ton of power! Once you start putting those street tires on that grab so much traction there is a ton of force transfered through the tranny. Just some food for thought.

Something is up somewhere. Do you have a volt meter? What is the reading before and after the charge? Also, contact Alex and talk to him about it. He is a good guy and will help you out too. He knows his batteries and will be able to give you the advice you need. I think your charger might have issues too since you said you were getting the same results with the venom pack.

Read through the last five or so pages and you might find some answers. What do you mean when you say "take a beating"? If you want it to be indestructible then this isn't your rc. If you want to have an rc that you could take to the track and win races and still have fun out in the yard you will like the Evader. If all you really want is an rc to beat to death then look at the Rustler. Let us know what you intend to do with this and we can help you out much better.
