RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
okay I have a question for you guys instead of trying to sort thru 400 pages of things, I'm looking for wheels for the e firestorm perferrably dish wheels. the only set of wheels I have found is the original hpi dish wheels in black. which black is fine but I would prefer the color white. I have found out that hpi has discontinued the white color and yellow colored wheels for this truck now, if any of you experienced veterans here could possibly tell me where to find these wheels or retrofit another manufactures wheel to the efirestorm that fit s properly that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Hello to all on the fourm! I just currently bought a E-Firestorm Flux and absolutely love it! I have done many upgrades to it already. Here's what I have done to it so far.....lundsford turnbuckles, losi titanium ball studs, Integy aluminum steering rack, RPM arms, front bearing carriers, Hpi aluminum bearing carriers with vertical ball studs, STRC aluminum shock bodies and caps, Traxxas digital hi-torque water proof servo, and ti-nitride steering posts. I also have ti-nitride susp. pins and shock shafts, as well as titanium slipper shaft and idler shaft coming in. I drove it today and absolutely love this truck! RPM arms take out the flimsy stock arms in stiffness. I also hooked up the castle link and did some fine tuning. The only thing lacking was traction with stock tires. I run associated silver springs, A piston, limiters with 37.5 wt oil on the fronts. Rears get limiters, gold springs, B pistons, and 30 wt oil. Stiff and responsive, which we race on a rubber like material. This truck is lethal on the track! More fine tuning it should be giving TLR 22T, T4s, and RT5 a run for their money!

RE: Offcial xxx-t thread
Hello i'm new to the losi forum. I now own a Losi XXX-T Matt Francis edition. I picked it up used and took it to my LHS and picked up some parts for it. Parts include VLA EA3 front and rear arms, extra pistons for the shocks #s 55, 56,57 and tuned springs (orange, pink and silver), and VLA spindles and hub carriers. The truck came with a very nice Proline Crowd pleaser body. Now my question is where can I find a Proline crowd pleaser body for the losi XXX-T? The part number is 3147-00 but the body has been discontinued. I really like the crowd pleaser body over the stock losi bodies. If any of you here can help me out and find some 1 who has this body that would be cool! Thanks!

RE: grasshopper 540 motor how too?
I used to have a grasshopper and I converted the 380 to a 540 motor. Here's how its done....remove old motor assy. 2nd pitch in trash. Take new 540 install 32 pitch pinion ( i don't remember how many teeth it had it was trial and error) Re-using the old mounting screws re-install motor. Plug wires into proper ends of the speedo. Now your good to go. As long as tamiya is still using 32 pitch gearing, then any 32 pitch pinion should fit. You may have to take the car to the hobby store to get it right.

Okay....here's an update! Some of the parts came in today! I got the shocks and the rear mount installed. I have found out that Associated pistons fit duratrax shocks. I mic'ed them out assoc pistons are 10.09 mm and duratrax shocks are 10.10 mm. I also put limiters in the shocks to lower center of gravity. So here's some new pics.

RE: RC10T3 questions
You should be able to still get a lot of parts from TowerHobbies.com. The t3 was built like a tank, compared to the t4, but both very nice trucks. You should try to down load a manual, so that way you'll have part #s to work with when you need somthing.
ORIGINAL: CarlMX5 I'm picking up one of these rediculously cheap locally. I was going to go for a T4 or an SC10, but for this price I can't pass it up. First off, can I put my 8.4v nimh packs in it, and second, what T4 parts can I put on it. Basically, can I buy T4 wheels to use on the T3? Thanks guys.
The 8.4v packs should fit only if its in stick form not in hump form. I believe that t4 wheels should fit that truck. However many many t4 parts will not fit the t3, the t4 is a totally revised and redesigned truck.

RE: The Evader Coalition - T.E.C.
The only thing is that I feel to make it competitive is that I would need to invest about $150 or more in parts to make it where its competitive. These parts being aluminum shocks, new body, graphite chassis, graphite bracing, graphite shock towers, aluminum motor mount, aluminum hubs, and aluminum brace that supports the trans shock tower, and camber links. To race in the class I either have to run a 13.5 BL system or a 19t brushed motor, and street tires. Which makes me wonder if its worth it...I only have $20 into it right now.
ORIGINAL: rcdriv3r What up guys. i was wondering what pipe would be good to slap onto our stock engine? i've asked some workers at my LHS but they're like 'oh the stock one is just fine'... it might be ok, but then i hear that getting a decent after market one can improve power? anyone have working knowledge of this? if so please let me know. thanks, happy rc-ing.
This is hear say, but I hear the blue pipe from the associated nitro tc3 or rc10 gt or the gt2 works great! I do know tho that team associated does make 2 kinds of pipes. 1st being a torque tuned pipe (recommended) and the second is a rpm tuned pipe. The xtm .18 is a great user friendly reliable engine but not a racers engine like other engines. (o.s., peak,or novarossi engines) for example. Not to say you couldn't race the xtm .18. I would recommend the torque tuned pipe just because of the trans's internal gear ratio. RPMs are nothing without torque.

Yeah I would agree. I love the truck! If you know how to drive on a track, your odds of breaking are slim, but the other factors of other careless drivers hitting you vehicle. I would agree, I had a blast can't wait to do it again. Very happy! Sounds like you are having a blast with yours. Check your bearings espically in the rear hubs mine were chewed up a bit so I had to put new ones in. I placed a order to avid rc for some new bearings for mine. Anyways have a blast!

This is the very first time my truck hit the dirt. On the last run I hit a pole not really hard, but just enough to break the front susp. arm. [:o] No biggie, I had spares. [;)] The truck was filthy after the run. But all in all I had a blast with it.
ORIGINAL: cookster that does help out alot actaully. the manual had said that the idle should be set properly from the factory. but i noticed that the car was idling rather hi. ie...the wheels we're spinning when lifted off the ground and after running for a min or two seemed to be idling a little higher once the motor warmed up, like high enough that it was rolling on it's own. as for while i was breaking it in, i only ever touched the high speed needle valve. other than that everything was good untill it took the wipe out from hell...lol. thanks for all the help....hopefully i'll have it back on the street and pissing neighbors off in no time.
Reset the low speed needle back to factory, and check your idle speed adjustment screw.....if it idles to high it could be due to that or your throttle trim is adjusted a bit to high. I would check throttle trim first. Give that a whirl.

RE: Official XTM X-Cellerator thread!!
ORIGINAL: cookster well i got a question and a story this time....lol.  so i was out running my truck trying to get the idle adjusted properly. i noticed that when i shut the engine down it was smoking out the top. so i had a peek and it seemed to be bubbling something brown (burnt fuel?) from around the glowplug. it wasn't doing this before i picked up new glowplugs. i am currently using McCoy MC-59's that are recommended in the manual. i also put in the extra spacer as recommended in the manual. is this normal? now story time. so ya mentioned a fail safe....i think i need to get one.  i while i was out setting the needle valves it got a lil outta range and slammed head first into a brick wall. the sound it made was horrid. a couple of the steering components broke as well as bent the nose on the fram up. also the clutch seems to be really loose now. so the whole front suspension came right of on impact. althought the new aluminum arms held up great...lol. so needless to say it's back to the store for more repairs and a fail safe...lol.
The idle should have been fine from factory settings. If the head is smoking it most likely running to hot! (not normal) Pick up a digital temp guage from the hobby shop as well. My engine is running best at about 230-240 degrees with 20% nitro. [;)] My suggestion is : Shake fuel up in the jug before filling your car up, reset needle valves back to orgional settings, and retune the engine from there. Check your fuel tubing for any splits, also check that the glow plug is tight in the head....not severly torqued down, but tight. I heard about the collett and flywheel looseing up. Make sure the flywheel is tight on collett and the nut that secures it is tight. If you have to put a dab ot thread lock on that nut. If you don't own a re-chargable receiver pack.....highly recommended that you get one! Or runaways will be constant thing. A fail safe is about a $8.00 or so insurance investment that will pay for it self in dividens, if set up correctly. When I broke in my engine I only tuned the engine with the hi-speed needle.....never touched the low speed needle. Hope this information helps.[;)]
