Marine "green"? They rattled my head so much in boot camp, I thought it was "olive Drab". [:(] I had a busted canopy too. Tower sent me a COWL as a replacement. Easy mix up I guess. Sure hope I never need it. [8|]

RE: JR r/x battery & charger
I ordered a new battery and hooked it up to the charger and every thing is fine now. Soooo, turns out the battery was the problem. Sad to say, it was less than one year old. I'm guessing I let it self-discharge way too deep and it was ruined. Won't make that mistake again. Thanks for all the helpguys, it is appreciated. dick.

RE: charger output voltage/R/X batt. voltage
WOW. That was fast. Thank you very much Rodney. Your comments were exactly what I was hoping to hear. So now, I can use one of my wall warts with a higher mAh rate to charge a battery that has been deep cycled. I'm going thru all my R/X batteries and after a full charge I'm discharging they with an ESV and graphing the time and voltage readings to get a "bench Mark" figure I can use to check the condition of the batteries with later on. In the past, owner manuels would say to charge the new battery overnite (?) I never knew how long "overnite" was. And "forming" a new battery was a phrase I had never heard. I finally found a web site that gives a formula for figureing the charge time for new formatted batteries. Thanks again, Rodney. I do appreciate your comments. Dick.

charger output voltage/R/X batt. voltage
Would I create a problem if I charged an R/X battery rated at 4.8V with a wall charger that has an output of 5.8 V or 6V ? I'm checking all my batteries and deep discharging them to 4.4V and the charge times are getting kinda long. Like 12 to 14 hours long. Of course after the deep cycle discharge sessions,my charge times wouldn't be as long because normally I wouldn't discharge them this deep when flying and therefore wouldn't have to recharge for the next flying day with the longer charge times. Right ??? thanks, dick.

JR r/x battery & charger
While charging my JR XP7202 yesterday I noticed the charger was getting very hot.It had only been on for one hour. I unpluged everything and checked the R/X battery and it only tested 1.27 volts on my multi meter. The battery is a JR Propo 4N1100 , 1100 mAh 4.8V NiCd. The battery wasn't even warm at all. Apparently the battery wasn't taking any charge at all. On the other hand, would the charger getting very hot indicate a problem with it? The T/X side works fine. Does anybody have an idea as to the problem, I'm not really up on these higher rate batteries. Thanks, Dick.

RE: 1/3 BUSA Super Cub Build
Love the pic of the Christmas tree, a really cute gal and a wing half that almost reaches the ceiling. Only thing missing is a building buddy, as in dog. [;)] Question for you. In one of your pics I see an angle cutter/ sorta like a pair of wire cutters. Do these things work on say, 1/4 balsa.? Wishing you and yours a happy and prosperous New Year. Really enjoying your build log. Great photos, keep them coming. dick
