RE: Enticement by E-flite
im building one right now.im going with aprox the same setup. 430 2cell, park 250, blue arrow 4.3 servos,a castle thunderbird 9,and a fmf sub micro rx. ill be compairing this to the morback and lipiton plans.fuse seems big, thats why it seems very slightly underpowered in videos that ive seen.there has to be 425 in carbon rods alone in the kit, so thats about half the cost right there.dont get me wrong, $55 is a great price.youd spend $40 trying to scratch build a plane like this.the best ,and prob. the only, f3p kit on the shelf at most any local hobby shop. the only prob. i see so far is im going to rip the speed brakes off alot here in the 'windy city',chicago.i might move the side force gens or add two more to protect the speed brakes.looks great, other than the huge heavy fuz and the speed brakes.nobodys perfect, but this is as close as well ever see from eflight!great plane, i give it a 8 so far.

RE: Shoot down airplane or not for noise???
wait, this guy is flying an brushless? he must be getting wayyyy to close to the houses then.i assumed the plane was glow powered.shooting him down still wont accomplish much, hell be back in a week or so and the local hobby shop will be the only real winner.you got to just tell him.he is causing a huge problem with no solution other than kepping away from the houses.he sounds like the type who wont listen untill you tell it like it is,with alot of authority in your voice.almost getting loud with this guy is going to be easier then finding a new place to fly.id hate to see a inocent model get hurt over this.its not the planes fault, its the owners so take it up with him.

RE: Help! my first electic plane. help!
i think the hobbyzone j3 might be easier to fly because of its 1 foot larger wing span.i wouldnt worry to much about anything other than how easy is it to fly if this is your first plane.it might not live long enough to burn out the brushed motor,i know my first plane didnt last long at all, lol.but if youve flown before or are pretty good on the sim, then get the park zone w/ the longer lasting brushless and lipo.

RE: Gyros for airplanes
has anyone thought of gyro controled thrust vectoring?i mean left right thrust vectoring used in 3d/pattern flying. i dont think the motor would move during level flight, only when the gyro was facing the right direction in a hover.it seems to me that gyros might have helped pave the way for 3d and patern flight as we know it.

RE: foamy plans
what size wingspan are you looking for? ill link you to two of my favorites, the morback and my current project the liptonic.the lipi is slightly smaller than the morback.im putting a eflight park 250 on a 2 cell 430 with the fuz 85% of the size shown on the plans. ill just post a link to a thread with a bunch of free 3d plans.its got the knuffel, morback, and liptonic.all monoplanes.the link also has the smove bipe that almost everyone was using in f3p . http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=550372

RE: Shoot down airplane or not for noise???
are you crazy? even if this guy is the biggest jackass in the world, have some respect for the plane.i would never mess with another mans aircraft, and even if you turn on a transmitter on his freq, the plane might not even glitch. a kid at the flight field by my house turned on his transmitter on my ch., and nothing even happened to my plane.i didnt even notice untill went to grab him a clip off the board and nothiced it was on my transmitter! anyways, mess with the guy,bug the crap out of him, tell him the fliers have to mow the field and its his turn, suggest that he and everyone else will have to find a new place to fly if he keeps buzzing the homes, but dont mess with the mans plane! if your near chicago let me know, ill come offer some 'suggestions' to him, he wont want to tell me to *%@ off ! what type of motor does he have? maybe maybe sombody can donate a silencer.i hate to give a asshole free parts, but its better than distroying a perfectly good airplane, and safer for everone who flies at the field than calling the cops.in chicago you can fly electrics anyplace, buy glow must be flown in a city provided flight field,or private field wich are few and far between with the welth of city provided fields.

RE: This guy can fly!
haha, i had to bring this one back. toothpick and broke n bummin got owned by the great mr dierickx so hard that i seriously fell out of my chair.i havent laughed so hard i cried in a long, long time. its very cool of him to be so open about his setup, most pilots of his caliber wouldnt share their secerets.very, very cool.i flew glow powered balsa aileron trainers and tame sport planes for 15 years before i saw him fly.

RE: Gyros for airplanes
i wont think any less of you for instaling one.it might just be the differance between learning how to hover, and crashing 5 planes learning how to hover. throw it in the tail, on the rudder and youll have one less thing to juggle while getting the hang of it.lots of people use one. ive seen them mostly in larger scale stuff, but i dont see why it wouldnt work in a smaller electric.
