RE: Gateway Jets St Louis June 11-14
Due to some confusion as to where the Gateway photo's were being posted, we now have two threads. So if any-one wants to see the photo's we posted from Sunday, also look at the http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8851753/tm.htm thread.

RE: Gateway Jets St Louis June 11-14
The weather gods appear to like the Gateway Jet weekend After major stoms last night, today was fantastic. Temperatures in the 80's, low humidity and although windy, wind mostly down the runway. Managed to burn 5 gallons of kero, 6 flights so not a bad day. Weather for tomorrow and Saturday looks even better. winds less than 5. Should be an awesome weekend for flying. Damn, this is gonna be good........

RE: Head Count, Gateway Jets St Louis June 11-14
To my knowledge, at least 7 of the local St Louis jet fliers will be participating. If we get a reasonably dry weekend, it will be a blast.

Gateway Jets St Louis June 11-14
A LOT of jet pilots at the field today getting ready for Gateway. Clear blue skies. Field in great shape. Frosty was doing the maiden on his new Ultra Bandit. Pretty darned nice. Looking forward to seeing all you Midwest flyers in a few weeks. And, did I tell you Devi has a new camera (Nikon) with VR zoom lens. Hoping to get good pictures of all of your planes.

RE: JR 12X Gear Failsafe Question
Yes, Siclick, this is a JR 2.4 I realize I can re-bind with the gear down, and all these "ground" problems will go away. But then, if it ever does failsafe in the air, you now have no turbine and the gear are down. I once had a Tango do that and the outcome was quite bad, i.e. lots of pieces.

JR 12X Gear Failsafe Question
Setting up a 12X and planned for the gear to stay up if it goes into failsafe (longer glide without stall, etc) But when I power the plane up with the transmitter on and with gear switch set down (as one usually hopes to!), it cycles between gear up (the failsafe position when you first turn it on) and gear down when it acquires the signal. The gear up time on startup is about 1 sec which is plenty long enough for the nosegear to come up. Is this going to make me look like a novice at the field every time I turn on???? Or is it the norm to set the gear down on failsafe, so that when you turn your transmitter off when you are done, with the plane still on, it doesn't put the gear up. Can't it just leave the gear alone on failsafe. Mode 77 is disabled so it doesn't look like I can change it. I give up. What's the answer?????
