RE: fuel injection
ORIGINAL: SManMTB Why would you even want to mess with that?
Well you wouldn't have to worry about your car running away because the bat is to low or died for some reason, and i think it would get us closer to spark ign, and fuel injection. I think all in all tho this sort of thing would raise the price so much that people would not want it. I just bash with mine so they work great for me as long as i remember to charge my bat. just kinda throwing ideas against the wall...

RE: Getting frusterated
Have you primed the engine? If not put your finger over the exhaust and slowly pull the pull start watch the fuel line and when fuel has made it to the carb pull once more and let go of the exhaust, now put the glow plug ignitor on and try to start. Hope this helps

RE: fuel injection
One thing I am wondering about is why we dont have an alternator for our lil cars? I dont think it would be to complex or all that heavy.. here goes my guess as to how it could be used and put together with the lil understanding i have of these things... Ok take a little brushless engine/motor mount it like one of the super/turbo chargers put a small cercit board that senses the voltage of your rx battery and regulates the amount of voltage to keep it at a constant. Now i know there would probably be a lot more involved but i think that that would be the basics involved. Then you have no more dead rx batteries and you can use a starter like the big cars on the road. Also another added bonus would be you could use spark alot easier. Feel free to point out stuff i got wrong so that some with more time could try it and not run into the obvious problems that i am not seeing.

RE: Question about engine temp measurement
I am glad that I found rcuniverse.com It is a great, newb-friendly forum. Nobody talks down to you and you can learn a lot. It is a great place but it really depends what you own and where you post as to people talking down to you. ie discussing redcats in other fourms people tend to say there are junk or just wont respond unless you happen to be in the redcat fourm. But ne way glad we could help ya out.

RE: Question about engine temp measurement
...and the ones that go around the cooling heads go right at the bottom by the block where the heat hasnt been dissipated yet....' I belive he is talking about the temp sensors that stay on the truck.; they have kinda like a laso that goes around the bottom of the cooling head and measure temp and store max temp. kinda like the venom micro temp heres a link to show you what i mean. http://www.clermontmotorsports.com/servlet/the-707/venom-micro-temp/Detail

RE: Case does 130 mph with a Fusion!!
the wing in the middle should help with the downforce but I think your going to need an airdam up front to counteract the rear wing because it wont take much air getting under it to send it flying around 150mph. Love the look tho

RE: Exhaust Problems
if it is too sall you probly need to get a new coupler but what you can do for it being too big is pull on the zip tie end and it will make it smaller.

RE: I smell like nitro fuel!
from what i have read all over this forum and others you need it to get to 200 to properly brake in the engine because the whole deal here is trying to get the metal piston sleeve and other components up to near where they will be running normally. when you are running a cool engine the sleeve is smaller that when it is warm so it is getting warn down more than it would when it is warm. Hope that made sense.

RE: Two Tsunami Ultrawides just showed up!
Check all your screws, put blue loctite on all screws that go into metal, check your gear mesh, make sure your ehxaust is not touching the fuel tank, set your servos to center, check neadle settings, and get a ir temp gun. Those are some of the things i can think of right off the bat.

RE: OK, New Wheelie contest
I'm sure if you threw a BB in one it would wheelie just dont know how long the drivetrain would hold up. Mine wont from a stop but i can get a lil wheelie with a bump and it has the stock vx in it. It's also in pieces waiting for the funds to upgrade motor, servos, rx tx, oh ya and for the 15 inches of snow we are getting tonight and tomarrow.......

I would not be opposed to a bump box, what are some good ones to look at? Also is there a back plate for the vx that gets rid of the OWB and the bronze bushing back there?

Ways to start your redcat
Ok guys I want to know, how do you start your redcat and what engine you have in it? I am also trying to find out if there is a backplate for the vx.18 that will do away with the bushing back there and if so what type of starter box people are using, how easy they are to use, and if they are worth it.

RE: diy nitrous oxide injection tutorial
I'm not trying to kill your idea I would love to see this work for you. I also believe that there has got to be some sort of disclaimer for the commercial systems because if the engine is not properly tuned than when they add the go juice it's gonna blow and people would be trying to sue. (I know petty but they are out there) Also when N20 systems do blow and engine it is like a bomb going off and i would have o think that people could easily get hurt! But enough of that I hope it works out for you, please keep us posted, and be careful don't want to hear about you having to have shrapnel removed.
