Muffler question
Hi all, I have a question regarding the muffler of both engine 3W and DA pitts style mufflers. Are both mufflers compatible to both of the engines? In another words can you use a DA pitts muffler on the 3W 55i engine? Will the holes match? Thanks, Chris...

RE: TOC Aviation YAK 30%
Hi guys, I have had both EF and TOC yaks and let me tell you that they are not the same... there's no foam in the entire body of TOC yaks... one could easily say that the Quique's yak is much of a copy of the EF yak because it has foam all over the place. Both of these aircraft fly the same and are excellent aircraft. It is very sad that EF was gone for a while and probably during the time that a lot of people wanted to get the yak, which got a lot of people disappointed. Actually that is one of the reason why I went with the TOC yak and I don't have any regreds of having it. Also I have it with a 3W50i, which a lot of people tells me that it was a mistake....WHATEVER. Let me be the one to tell you that it was not. Yes the DA has a lot of power but I think the TOC yak flies great if not better with the 3W 50i. One of the best things that 3W has is that you could use li ion batteries with out reg. which I think it makes a lot of differences ( weight, extra piece of equipment, ETC) anyway I don't think neither of these companies are a copy to the other and if they are thank god somebody is thinking. because at least we woun't have to worry about parts if either company decided to disappear again. JUST LIKE EF DID. Thanks,

RE: Best Motor for TREX 450 SE
Hi all, Speaking of motors, I havor should I say I had the 3550KV motor with my trex SE [:(] yesterday as I was flying, the heli dropped from a 10 feet high as result, I found out that the motor got burned[X(]. "it smalled bad and you could observed the coils inside the motor color black". The receiver, servos, batteries, gyro involved in the incident are okay. Here is what I had in it 3550 KV motor 35 speed controller BEC thunder power battery 2100 mah 3 hs65 1 hs56 for rudder. Anyway....I feel like I haven't learned my lesson, because i just ordered one new heli but this time I did it with out a motor. so...Please let me know which motor that you have tried works best for you. Thanks

Need Help TREX 450
I recently bought a trex with the 3550k motor, 35 Speed COntroller, ulimited BEC, 3 hs 65 and hs 56 for rudder, jr g490t gyro, JR RX 955s, and tx JR 9303. My problem is that the heli starts spining (full 360 degrees if try to corrected it goes the other way) on the ground before lifting. (and not intending too, unless fix) I've played around with the setting of the speed controller but and I have it set up with governo mode which now doesn't want to get out of it. I have played with the setting with the gyro which is stupid because the gyro is a plug and play deal. Don't know what I'm doing wrong..please help. Thanks, CD

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
propwashed That is one kick ass design on the 3W graph. I'll give you a call tomorrow. Super D yes I think I'm the only one with the 3W engine which is what TOC1 reconmended. As soon as I saw the video on the web site, I knew that this is not a plane that I wanted to experiment with. I had the 68" from EF, which I may add is one of the most 3D capable planes I ever flown of its side. (sad that you can't get it anymore). The only thing I've been experimenting with is the prop, which I think the one they used on the proto type is okay 22*10 but i would much rather use Bolly 23*8 wood. the reason for that is that I feel that dose props are true to the side and pitch unlike others. Now I'm just trying to eliminate some weight on the aircraft by changing the batterie side. but I don't want to go lipo. also my CG is just right. where I don't have to apply almost no elevator to land it. This is the only aircraft I've been able to experience this type od behavior. Thanks.

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
Hi all, Sorry for the miss understanding on the total weight of the aircraft... 17.5 pounds is in total. That is why I'm woundering about the battery and how I can eliminate some weight, because I wouls like to have more of a pull. I don't want to go with a bigger engine and doen't like DA engines to much "have witness bad experience with them" my 3W has been good to me and has goos responce. The only thing I don't like is the pull out power. BTW I'm using a pitts muffler and have cosidered using canisters but the plane flights right and is a very good 3D machine, capable of doing anything. I really enjoy my self with her. I don't want to use regulators because I have seem my friends at the field gotten glitch by it. T. Bob kewl graphs...How you did them....I really don't like to advertise any company therefore I haven't put any nanes or graphs on the plane but I'm getting tired of answering what type of engine I'm using. so can you tell me if the person who did the graphs for you perhaps can make a 3W graph for me....so that I can put it on the cowl. Thanks

RE: YAK 54 TOC1
Hi all, I have a TOC1 YAK 54. I'm using 8411jr servos all around, rx 955s and 3w 50i engine. I've tried 22*8, 22*10, and 23*8. All that comes out to 16.5 lb my question is has anyone tried these props and on youe opinion which one is better. as per my experience, I feel that 23*8 Bolly prop is the better prop for hoover but the 22*10 give you that extra pull needed to pull out when running into trouble. is this right? FYI, 22*10 I get 6300 RPM. Also with the 3W 50i engine is it possible to use a lipo 7.4 without a regulator to the ignition? I just want to reduce the nose weight by couple of onces. As is right now I'm using 900 NMH half C 6 volt battery for ignition which is good for only two flights What batteries do you reconmend for the ignition? and on the rx 1200 half C NMH 6 volts, which I'm going to change with a double AA 2700 NMH 6 volt unless you guys reconmend otherwise. Thanks,

RE: Do you know when this hobby becomes an addiction?
When I started with the hobby, I was expending too much time and money. After two years, I have learned to put family duties first and not to let my planes and hobby take to much time from me. I used to go to the field every day, rush from work to the field to try to fly, and I think I was like that because I wasn't a great flier. Now I go to the field and stay good 4 hours or have three flights, enjoy my self, and learn on my own from my own mistakes...not because some hot shoot arrogant looser was trying to teach something “what he was doing is showing off. (And trust me in the field I belong, there's a lot of them). I have learned to mind my own business, Buy the plane I want with the servos and engine I want, not because someone told that their shit is the best. Some guys at the field could call them selves your friends, but are they truly your friend? or are they just hanging out with you because you have a nice plane that they wishing they had and would like to fly it and when something happens and you crash , are they going to be there with you? don't know... Since three months ago I been flying when I want to, with the plane of my choice, and not expending too much time at the field but the little time I fly, and get to be with my real friends, I end up appreciating it more than ever which I think it makes me a good friend and a great flier. BTW I’m not saying that I’m great, I let other people judge my flying skills but all I know is that I feel great and I live home very happy with a great feeling inside ready to get and give some quality time to my family.

RE: Prop Jets ARf
The F-16 by cermark posted with the F-14 by great planes now has a jett 90L and I would say that is a better reliable engine. I feel more confidence with that engine than with the thunder tiger that had before.... The only thing I didn't like about the plane is the weakness on the main landing gear wood structure. I had to beef it up with some bass wood, which is a stronger better wood. I’m testing several props with the jett 90 on the F-16. I was able to hit 105 MHP with a 12*8 prop, and just last weekend I tried a 11*9 I don't know how was is going but I will find out before the winter gets here. I just want to make something real clear... The F-16 or at least mine doesn't have to come in hot for landing. When landing the F-16 has that scale looking like with the nose up "no flaps" and very gentle landing "spring air and oleos". Very stable. I think is a good jet for does of us who are thinking about getting into jets and can't afford turbines. I would say if you have a good knowledge and can handle high speed and have master trainers and landings, I think one can handle the F-16. I'm not really into jets "I like 3D" this is my first jet and my first and all my landings are a show. Not because of me but because of the F-16 characteristics of nose up landing.

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
bob27s, As to the sleeve properly aligned inside of the case...the engine never sounded bad nor the pug ever burn out.. I'm still using the plug that came with. However the firs time leaning the engine when the head came a bit loose the plug did as well and was smoking a lot !to lean! I will replace the plug with an os 8 and change the prop to 11*6 to see if I get 15-14 k RPM I'll let you know my results tonight. Thanks

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
bob27s, Thanks for the recomendations. I will not put a 12*12 prop. I did put it on the bench for 15 min when I first got the engine but never tag it until mounted on aircraft. I will try to get it up to 1400RPM with an 11*6 prop. When adjusting the Hi end, should I adjust the low end lean the low end as well? Thanks

RE: THE NEW CERMARK F-16 BUILD IT BETTER, STRONGER, AND FASTER!!!
Hi all, I been reading a following everyones comments and concern about the F-16 and the jett 90L. I got mine set up with oleo spring air retracts, except for the nose gear its mechanical. jett 90l which i got two weeks ago. I started the engine with a 11*9 prop ran it on the test bench put it in the plane and got 13k RPM. flew it and clocked it at 100 MPH with gears down. I noticed that the head came loose and the engine didn't want to turn on. so I tied the head of the engine and chance the prop to a 12*8 getting 1250 RPM. flew it couple of more times and after every landing i would tied the head. After ten flights I and with the retracts up I noticed that the plane goes much faster and the engine is asking to be lean more. before the 11 th flight I tag the engine and was able to get up to 13K rpm. and left it there I don't want to push the engine because i'm afraid of dead sticks "my field has a lake right in front of it". Anyway I will try to get 14K rpm by the next flight. After I hit my mark I'm intending on using 12*12 apc, the reason for this is that the I need the length of the prop for short take off "my field's runway is not that long" I feel that I will get more speed with a 12*12 apc prop. and the plane will be more stable. BTW the F-16 weight is 11.5Lb... I think Jett 90L is the best choice for this plane and a good reliable engine. Thanks Jettengineering.,.

dean320, I love the plane. I putted the YS 110 and I think is the best match for this A/C. I flew it with the saito 180 but it was to much power and my fire wall came loose. I re-enforced and mounted the Ys 110 with a 17*4 W apc prop. The plane flights like a dream. I never flown a plane with such stability and performance form the start. No coupling is needed for most of the 3d moves. aewsome!. Thanks

Can somebody explain how to mount the dual servos on the back of the fuselage?
