RE: Does Redcat make any boats?
ORIGINAL: Foxy Redcat doesn't 'make' anything. It just resells HSP stuff. If HSP has a boat, Redcat could apply to resell it.
He didn't ask if they "make" a boat (in your words), he asked "if there is a Redcat boat", you as a moderator should maybe show a little more "tact" when answering a question instead of just making a comment which didn't help the poster in any way, shape or form but actually make a post that is derogatory. Sorry to everyone here if I sound a little "unhappy" in my post, just found this reply a little offbeat coming from a moderator to this forum.

RE: Does Redcat make any boats?
for sure people new to the hobby are attracted to the price factor and being a novice to the hobby can wreak havoc on an rc for sure, from gear mesh to broken pullstarts, not to mention blown engines.

RE: What models are these??
First one is a tamiya blackfoot chassis, the original one (red color) with a frog/subaru front end and subaru brat tires/rims and rear body posts. the frog/subaru brat chassis is gray. Not sure about the second one.

RE: Does Redcat make any boats?
Still, the original poster just asked if "there is a Redcat boat" and for a moderator on this forum to answer the way they did just seems wrong, it did not answer his question. There was nothing about value or if they make what they sell, the reliability, just a very simple "if there is a redcat boat" and somone with some knowledge of the product whether it be a redcat employee, dealer, or moderator should have just answered simply that they do not offer a boat, sell a boat, etc..... I have been around the redcat forum for many years and used to hearing all the negatives, also own many other rc brands, too many, lol.... some have more problems then others but fix and repair is part of any hobby, thats what makes this a hobby... i also do model railroading, slot cars and every form of rc out there and scale and all take constant attention.

RE: This is odd...
you may have hit the servo reverse switch by mistake, some rc's run correct in normal and some in reverse, just depends on the servo wiring but if its working fine in reverse setting then dont worry about it.

RE: Worn out motor?
you cant go wrong with the cvrx, its a direct fit, easy to tune and has some nice power, i have it in a few of my rc's and very happy with it, only problem I have seen is the one way bearing seems to go bad in them, i have had to replace 3 out of the 4 engines i have, funny since its an external one and they rarely go bad.

RE: Worn out motor?
The overheating sounds like air leak issue, check the o rings on the needles and the front bearing. A worn engine wont just overheat, it will loose compression when it gets warm from the expansion and not run well unless its rich since the excess fuel helps make up for the gap from being worn, if its getting hot it a fuel/air issue.

RE: Worn out motor?
I always found one good test for compression is to hold the car up by the pullstart, if it stays up or slowly falls (grabs and lets go, grabs and lets go) then the compression is good (do this before running it) if the compression is low then it will usually stop running during the first tank of fuel when it warms up. Sounds like you may have an air leak that is causing it to run lean and hot.

RE: redcat shockwave help no steering or throttle control
not really unless you have another receiver or transmitter that works on the same frequency, 27mhz.

RE: redcat shockwave help no steering or throttle control
make sure the crystals are in good on the receiver and transmitter, make sure thr plugs are in tight on the receiver, if all is good then most likely the receiver went bad, could be the transmitter too.

RE: How Long Nitro Engines last ?
If you have richened the engine and it still stalls and wont start when getting warm then its shot, engine life goes by how it has been run, if its been run hot and lean it wont last very long at all, if you run it a little rich and keep the temps to around 220 to 250 it can last a very long time, i have car engines that are over 20 years old with many gallons thru them and they still run fine. The sh is a good engine, well built and will last a long time if its properly taken care of, a clean and well oiled air filter will also keep you engine running a long time.

RE: no front drive shaft
Most trucks have transmissions not a center diff, a center diff needs front and rear shafts in or it will not work. 2wd can be alot of fun.

RE: tornado steering problem
could be a stripped gear on the servo itself, usually you will hear a clicking noise but it also sounds like something is binding and holding it from returning to center, disconnect the servo horn from the servo and turn the wheels, see if you can feel something binding.

RE: Valcano S30 problem.
sometimes the clutch spring will wear in a little and start grabbing, sometimes they break, could be the issue, also can be an air leak. if it held the new tune and ran fine then your good.

RE: RedCat Caldera 3.0 Not Staying On When Started?
Sounds too rich, you can either raise the idle up a little or lean the low needle in a 1/4 turn and try it out, also make sure you keep the igniter on and give it some thottle while off the ground to clear the engine of built up fuel.

RE: Redcat Caldera 3.0
alot has to do with how the servo saver is set up, if its too loose, the wheels will barely turn, if its too tight, you will strip servo gears.
