RE: beware of hobby king warranty claims
What I don't understand why folks buy from HK when so many issues arise when an item breaks or shorts out or dosen't work at all. I buy from companies (Horizon Hobby, Hobby Lobby International, Tower Hobbies) that stand behind their product. I do realize the item I want might cost a little more but I know that if my item breaks I can get customer service without a big hassle.

When I buy a RTR of anysort I go thru it with a fine tooth comb to find any loose/broken parts before it goes out on its first run.

RE: traxxas steering servo
There is no binding of any kind in the steering linkage, I have upgraded the stock steering with a kit from CKRC and it was the best upgrade other than adding the hitec servo.

I plan on using a high torque metal gear servo on my truck since the stock set-up is weak.

RE: HPI Crawler King Jeep
Well I finally took my Crawler King for its first outing today. There is a big rock pile near my house where the road dept is reworking the new highway. It did very well and I was rather impressed the only issue I had with it is the weak steering servo and the steering linkage, i have a servo relocating kit for it that I am going to install on it this week, the servo is mounted to the front axle along with aluminum tie and drag linkage that I got from CKRC in Reno Nv. I have installed a reduction gear case on it today as well which should help it out with more torque for the tough obstacles!

RE: Tamiya 58519: Toyota Bruiser returns!!
I have got an original Bruiser sitting in my collection. Since Tamiya released the Bruiser again I will need to get some more u-joints for my truck, it still runs great but I don't take it out much as I used to. Back when I was stationed at Nellis in Las Vegas we had a monster truck club and we used a pulling weight sled and my Bruiser pulled a 40 pound load in first gear, the weight transfer was perfect as it lifted the front wheels slightly at the end of a full pull!

RE: HPI Crawler King Jeep
I am not sure what brand of crawler my first one was, it looked like it was a mix of parts from different vehicles, it ran good in the house climbing shoes and such but as soon as I hit the trail it broke, I got an offer to sell it and got rid of it that day. I looked at the Axial trucks but they seemed a little pricy for me since I am just running for fun occasionally.

HPI Crawler King Jeep
I have been looking at the HPI Crawler King Jeep for my second crawler, the first crawler I had broke on its first outing so no more used/worn out rigs for me! Any thoughts on this HPI rig? I am not going to compete with it I just want to run for the fun of it. I am mainly a airplane nut, but I have gotten hooked on the crawlers lately! Nick

I am not sure if I can make it to the NATS this year due to the high cost of gas. I can afford it but it would put a dent in my budget.

RE: Biplane Flight Differences
I taxied my Camel across the asphalt runway after landing and now its tailskid is about 1/8th of an inch shorter I am going to put some metal on it to keep it from wearing out. On taking off the tail was already flying almost as soon as it started to roll out.

RE: Biplane Flight Differences
Well I put the maiden flight on my Sopwith Camel today. It went well but the plane was a little bit tail heavy on the first flight and on landing it flipped over on its lid (scale landing!) I put a second flight on it as well which went a lot smoother as my nerves had calmed down since I was getting used to the plane. On the landing on the second flight was greased on the grass runway. As soon as I get the pictures developed I will post the pics here.
