RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
ORIGINAL: nazUK I hear what your saying mate but its pretty irrelevant considering that when I plug the glow plug ignitor to the terminals the glow plugs were burning out meaning there was something wrong and would only mean in my eyes that it is getting too much voltage and by doing what I did with the balance charger just shows there is way over the top voltage coming through the glow plug terminals which has lead me to believe either its blown or I need to change the voltage regulator. I will be investing in a volt meter at some point but I think my theory at the moment is spot on
I realize that, and that comment was not aimed at you. I know you are past that point.

RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
ORIGINAL: flyinwalenda Do you have the glow plug leads plugged into the glow plug jacks and not the starter jacks? It's been done before and you send unreguated 12 volts to the glow plug. If it's connected properly and you have the dial set to low and it's still blowing plugs then your glow plug frequency circuit on the panel has failed. Putting a meter on the glow plug terminals of the power panel it will read 12volts regardless if the frequency circuit is working or not. It's not going to read 1.5 volts. It doesn't work that way. If you have a scope you can see what is happening. If you have electronic board repair experience you can repair the circuit. If not then you can use a glow stick or buy another power panel.
I was saying try a voltmeter at the end of the glow plug heater, not the terminals, just for clarification.

RE: Glow plug burning out on power panel
I would hook a voltmeter up to it and check it out. Not sure at what voltage they burn up, but they are supposed to get 1.5 volts.

RE: Best type of car for grass
If you plan on running on tall grass often, it would help to gear your rc down some. It wont have the top speed it did, but the engine or motor wont get as hot. I know what Foxy is saying, i had my Maxx geared for speed runs and took it to a friends house who's grass was quite tall. My engine shot up to over 320 degrees and was a dog in the grass. Changed the gearing and helped tremdously. Prolly obvious, but just tryin to help. Best of luck finding something to fit your needs. Happy Rc'ing!

RE: Savage x throttle ?
I will add to be a little careful how much torque the servo puts on the brakes. I put a Tmaxx steering servo (its high-torqueish) on my Savage for the throttle/brake servo. It ended up pulling one of the screws out of the tranny case that hold the brake pads on. You can limit the travel for the brakes in you have EPA on your radio, or you can manually do it with the linkage. Just throwin that out there.

RE: How Happy Are You With Your RC Collection?
I have a Savage i like alot. Then there's the tmaxx-i won't go there. Love my planes, one needs a little work and had to sell my heli, although i want to get another one in the furure. I'm not too happy with my stuff right now as i dont really have a lot of time to work on them. Not having a heli really sucks. Only kind of rc that can still get my knees knockin and make me go "phew" after a flight. Nothin like flyin an upside down lawn mower around...

RE: guess the car game
Someone will prolly guess this quite fast... I was born in the early 90's in the United States, more specifically, the Buckeye State. I have been dis-continued for some time now. I am no racer, but i make up for it in looks. My wide rear chrome rims w/ matching skinnies in the front really make me look nice, not to mention my powerplant. Please only drive me on hard smooth surfaces. If you like to work with polystyrene, you will really like me. There are 2 different body styles of me, i will accept either anwser.
