Alternative to Castle setups?
Hello all. I always opted for Castle Creations 1/18 scale brushless systems, but for some reason, I can't for the life of me find any 1/18 mamba micro pro combos on tower, eBay, amain, amazon, or any other major web store. If anyone could Explain to me why there is such Internet-wide low availability, that would be great. But I digress: which 1/18 setup would be a good, reliable alternative to my usual castle setup? I'm not too familiar with the reputations of the other brands. Thanks guys EK

The colors all match up, though. Still unsolder and reverse polarity?

Mamba Max SCT issue
Hey all. I called castle on Friday and asked them if it was okay for me to go ahead and merge/solder my ESC and motor wires on the SCT mamba, and they told me that it was totally fine. I did it, and now when I turn my sc10 on and hit the throttle, it goes in reverse. What could the issue be? Thanks, guys. EK

RE: Rc18t2 build advice?
Primary reasons I didn't get an X-ray are: parts availability seems to be scarce in my area, lack of X-ray stuff on amazon.com (I have an amazon prime free 2 day shipping account), and I'm an associated fanboy :) Anyone have any tips before I begin? EK

RE: help: horrible grinding sound when reversing sc10 4x4
1. I did indeed read the manual. 2. when i BRAKE, the grinding sound occurs. by reverse, i meant the reverse direction aka "up" on the throttle.

RE: help: horrible grinding sound when reversing sc10 4x4
the sound doesn't occur in standard acceleration, though. also, it only happens in a sudden stop from high speed. it doesn't happen in standard gradual braking.

SC10 4X4 users: what do you think of this?

3s lipos and the SC10 4x4?
does anybody know if there are any modifications I can make to be able to have an open enough space to swap out 3s batteries? as it stands, I have to go through a fifteen minute ordeal of removing the front clicker in order to move the belt out of the way and remove/insert batteries. is there a way to remedy this issue? also, is there any way to equalize the weight of either side of the truck with my 3s zippy in the battery tray? thanks EK2

SC10 4x4 32P/62T spur gear gearing?
Hey all. I'm running an SC10 4X4 and was forced to build the truck with the included 3s pitch/62 tooth spur. I then installed a 15T pinion and when running, I noticed that the truck seemed very sluggish to say the least. Full throttle was unusually underwhelming. I currently have a 16T pinion and a 17T pinion lying around in my tool box. Would either of these improve the situation? also, my motor/esc combo is a 3800KV Castle Mamba SCT setup thank you EK2

Issues with my traxxas TQ radio.
Hey all. I finished building my SC10 4X4 and needed a radio, so my friend gave me an extra 2.4ghz traxxas TQ radio (came with his e revo). No matter how many times I try to reverse my throttle on the transmitter, the SC10 always manages to reverse when i hit the throttle and go forward when I push the grip upward to reverse. Is there anything I can do? are these traxxas radios only functional with traxxas ESCs? any ideas? thanks EK

Top quality hop ups for my SC10 4x4
Hey all! I just finished building my sc10 4x4, and much to my surprise, I have an extra $150 dollars in my budget. What are some high quality hop ups that I can order for my SC? I already bought some RPM arms. Also, I'm wondering which parts are nterchangable between the SC10 and the SC10 4x4 so I can pick some older hop ups up as well. Thank you! Ek2

charging on a budget?
hey all! i recently jumped back into the hobby with an associated sc10 4x4 and am wondering what the best charger for a $65 budget would be. i'd be using lipo packs and would like there to be an included power supply/plugin pack as opposed to having to buy a separate power supply. can you guys point me in the right direction? thank you ek2

RE: Just built my SC10 4x4. I have one inquiry!
ORIGINAL: Foxy Go with stock gearing and go from there. Not sure what you mean by a 5pm shaft. The shaft on the Castle 1410 is actually 1/8th inch (3.18mm), most 3mm-5mm adapters will work, of course they are a tight fit on the motor shaft, but that's a good thing. I'm also waiting for my Jammin SCRT10 along with this motor (Castle 1410 3800kv). Fortunately, the gearing on the SCRT is all mod1 pitch, and they include a 3mm to 5mm adapter with the kit, so I'm not anticipating any issues.
I meant 5mm. I'm sorry!

Just built my SC10 4x4. I have one inquiry!
Hey all! I just completed my SC10 4x4 build and am curious about gearing as I've read lots about people having issues. I'm using the Castle 3800kv mamba system. When building, I took the advice of an online guide and used the included 48p 93 tooth spur. Was this a good move? If so, what tooth pinion should I get to maintain a speed with lots of punch? Am I going to need a shaft adapter since the shaft on the motor is a 5pm shaft? Thanks, guys! Ek2

It's been a while and I need to be pointed in the right direction.
Hey all! Due to financial difficulty over the past year, I had to take a six month break from the hobby. I'm back and building, though! I'm coming back into this with an SC10 4X4 short course kit. I'm thinking about going with the Castle SCT setup, but I can't figure out which motor setup would be ideal for this truck. I'd primarily be bashing and rarely racing. Is this a reliable setup? (i understand that the sc10 4x4 is a race truck, but i got a sweetheart of a deal on the kit) also, I used to run Turnigy lipo packs on my 1/10 and 1/18 electrics because of the low prices that they have to offer. is there another alternative these days? i'm looking for long run times that would be light on my wallet. what would be the best bang for my buck in the current market? thanks a ton, guys!
