Tower Kaos Covering
I just ordered a Tower Kaos 40. After reading through the post, it appears that the covering tends to come off the model fairly quickly. 1. Have they changed the covering on the Kaos withing the last six months? 2. What is the best fix for the problem? Recover or can some type of clear be applied to help prevent the covering from flying off?

Anthony It sure is a great looking aircraft. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy seening an airplane in the bare bones without covering. It really makes an individual appreciate the work Ed

RE: Venus II, Part 2!
Tim: Thanks for the response to my questions. I understand what you are saying and can understand your thoughts on this matter. I would have to guess that if numbers were there (number of sales generated) then Great Planes or any other manufacture would produce them in ARC. I purchase ARF's as well as build my own aircraft. I have been in the hobby for to many years. I would guess that most individuals that have entered the hobby within the last few year have no desire to cover an aircraft. I see nothing wrong with that! Ed

RE: Venus II, Part 2!
ORIGINAL: krproton I don't really want to get involved in another thread (I already monitor the TF B-25, GP 27% Extra and Edge because I worked on those too), but I couldn't resist...Here is my Venus II (converted to electric). It's majic to fly. [:)]
Tim, I have a question. Why does a manufacture like Great Planes not offer an ARC as well as the covered model. I think it would be neat to cover the airplane with your own design and colors. I would guess an individual that wanted to do this would not expect much of a reduced price under the covered model. I am sure that this would be only a small amount of your business. Is it that difficult to order 50 uncovered airplanes with the regular covered order? thanks, Ed

RE: Ercoupe full wing sheeting help?
I used the same method that Anthony used for sheeting the wing. A commbination of wood glue and Ca. I built a Ziroli P-47 and used the same method as well.

RE: Rhett Miller's Gator Flea
ORIGINAL: Free Bird
What make and size engine will you use on the Gator Flea?
I was thinking of a Tower 46. I've had a couple of them and they run great. Should make the GF really move out (maybe too much engine?). But I'm open to any other suggestions. FB
If I built one, I probably would use the OS46Sf that I have on hand. As stated in a previously post, I would build mine without retracts just to keep it simple. I would think this would be a weight reduction, plus using some CA Glue during construction would make it possibly lighter. Maybe the 46SF would be a little to much, but I can use a throttle. I think the Tower 46 would be a good choice.

Ultra Sport / Engine Size
I am considering getting an Ultra Sport. I have an OS 55AX 2 Stroke Engine? It appears that the engine is to large for the 40 size and to small for the larger, 60 size US. Has anyone used this engine on either or the two Ultra Sports?

RE: Rhett Miller's Gator Flea
FB I as really not sure if I am going to take on this project. If I did, I would not install retracts. The plane is small and feel I could keep it lighter by not using tri-gear retracts and a retract servo. I doubt that I would do a build thread since I build very slow. Are you considering doing a building thread? Ed

Rhett Miller's Gator Flea
I am considering building Rhett Miller's Gator Flea. Back in the 70's, I do not remember seeing written information about how it flew? I would probably use an OS 46SF 2 Stroke Engine. I also have an OS 55AX, but feel it would be larger than needed. Since Eureka Aircraft has a short kit, it just seems like a good project. Ed

RE: JACK STAFFORD Models Aircoupe's
Since I moved from Kentucky to Central Florida five years ago, I have learned that I do not get many days that are stay at home & build. In Ky., the winter weather gave me reasons to build & that is what I did for thirty years. Cubfloater, you will find it an interesting build. It appears to be very strong, but some imagination is needed on the assembly. It is interesting that I have worked my way (with Anthony's help) through the difficult parts of construction and now all I need to do is finish. Go figure! Ed

RE: Finish the Phoenix-Paint
Vince I am driving over to Apopka around lunch time. Just want to see the airplanes. I know what you mean about finding contests. I lived in Ky. and to get to a SPA Contest was a drive. I did it now and then. No other individuals to travel with, so not as much fun in my opinion. Except for the Apopka, SPA Contests in Florida will require a lengthly drive. I am will be interested to see what they are flying in regular AMA in the lower classes. Ed K.
