RE: Horton 229
invertmast this article doesnt directly relate to the Ho229. What it shows is how advanced the Germans were in technology as a whole at that time. No one had anything like the Ho 229. It just shows the Germans had in development other high tech aircraft.

RE: Horton 229
General Patton described coming upon a huge runway that was 200 feet wide, 11,300 feet long, and was made of concrete which was 14 feet thick. The memo stated that the runway was built by the Germans using thousands of slave laborers, and took several years to complete. It was his written opinion that the construction materials and labor force surpassed that of the great pyramids (his words). The runway incorporated a unique feature at the far end. An upward turned "ski slope" was built into the runway to allow larger aircraft with heavy cargo loads to take off more easily. This "ski slope" feature was later incorporated into the designs of British and Russian aircraft carriers. This finding was described in Patton's biography, which included specific data and photos, and also in an official document known as the "Patton memo". In fact, General Patton specifically warned the U.S. military of unbelievable facilities being found.

RE: 1/5 Scale Rampage model differences
If you want to just run around and bash the Redcat's Xt's are cheap. Same with the Redcat MT's difference's mainly one is lighter than the other being the XT. Xt has a newer design and has smaller wheels and tires. Not bad for the money. If you want something tougher and great for desert use, if you can then save up then go for the Hpi. So it's what you want, what kind of use the 1/5 car will be used for, and what you can afford. A used 1/5 scale is fine if you have some experience with engines, drivetrains, and electronics. You don't want someone's else's problems, unless you can fix the odd's and ends. Perfect opportunity for you since 1/5 scale has got'ten cheaper over the years. Years ago 1/5 scale wasn't cheap I liked the MCD line ( because of the versatility ) a rolling barebones chassis MCD Monster truck then went for $1800.00 now you can get a Redcat XT / with radio with everything for around $575 or cheaper, depending on where you shop including free shipping. There good starter 1/5 scale cars. Whatever 1/5 scale you get, you will learn from that model. Then you go from there and move up the 1/5 scale line. Here's one of my MCD Monster Trucks

RE: FS engine DEATH ! ! Burial, Bio, & Pics Exclusive !
Recap of the FS Truck experience - What happened 4 years ago I took the FS everywhere I went. The VW Squareback loved it. The FS fit in there snugly The FS King Kong couldn't wait to get out and run and run it did ! Some driving action of the FS King Kong Over time the wear and tear would start to show Things started to go like the single FS servo, so I had to replace it. Leaking shocks, axle pin wear, etc. The FS King Kong was falling apart fast. The last few runs was hard to watch. The engine sputtered and sputtered till it couldn't take no more. You might say she was exhausted. The time had come to put the FS to rest. It was shot, done, kaput, finito, no more. It was a sad day indeed. The memorial was touching. Word spread about the passing of the FS. Many Rc friends came over to show there respects. One person couldn't hold back the tears. There was provided a box of Kleenex and a counseling specialist if needed Then one day I was looking at the tools and started thinking There might be hope, but it would take more than a facelift. The FS needed to be reborn. still thinking .... looking at a MCD truck body mmmm... some MCD truck wheels and tires can you believe the single servo was being operated on 4 AA batteries. This needed to go. and oh .... the radio too new fuel tubing The MCD imitation truck is born She had new innards and was ready to rip ! A new second life :) For the price of the FS King Kong it wasn't bad for what it gave in return. In matter of fact the FS experience was quite fun Alot has happened in the 1/5 world in 4 years. New models like the Losi 5ive-T and more coming in the future. This is just the beginning.

At certain speeds The Squareback just floats and is so smooth. Smoother than the Cadillac I use to have. This is because it's so light. It's quite an amazing feeling.

Yup Shark talked to the Hyundai company to put it in a commercial. They checked the vin, and smog tests and they said yup it's got the original engine. They got really excited. It's driven close to 100 miles a day. Can't wait till it hits 500,000 miles. It's runs fantastic. Were just going to keep running and running and running it. People said it would die at 150,000 cause it's a Hyundai engine, nope then they said 250,000 nope now it's at 452,041. Remarkable ! About the rust there's not rust underneath, just were area's like the bolts around the engine. Plastic parts like the speaker cover in the back of the hatch have cracked and disintegrated and other small plastic parts. Some plastics just tend to fade and dry out were sun hit's it the most.

Here's pictures of the Hyundai's Accent's. On the second page I said about the one Hyundai was nearing 500,000 miles. I checked the odometer and it needs another 50,000 miles more to reach that. Sun, rain, high winds amazing ! My other VW. 1974 VW 412 I really get looks in this car. One old guy I know calls it the "Hitler car" another old guy starts talking in German, he really gets emotional when he see's it, like old world German talk. Wish I can understand what he says. Another person says here comes the Panama Noriega car. People literally stop and stare when I drive it in town. Sometimes when I come out of the store there's always people standing around it. I am always asked "can I see the engine" ? When I lift up the front hood the shock I see on there faces. [X(] Then I take them to the back of the car, point to the cargo area and say "were is the engine" ? There in awe like "were is the engine that powers this thing" ?? A lot of people don't know about these cars. This car has a Eberspächer gas heater. Engine's in these are also a Porsche 914.
