RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
I know what you mean about them growing up fast.... Dominic just turned 6 on saturday and it seems like it was only a couple years ago when we had him. I dont know how much I would like a buggy because usually the places we go bashing are really rough and have huge jumps and hills. I was thinking about joining the rc club next year and get into racing the savage.

This has been the worst summer for bashing ever I dont even think I have used 1/2 a galon of fuel yet lol and now we have snow :( Kieth, how do you like that flux? A friend of mine has one and put some better engines and batteries in it I cant believe the power those things have

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: billdo76 So I have had an MT2 since it first came out. I decided to buy another one to build up and put an O.S. motor in it. Then I stumbled on [link=http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320606285233&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT]THIS[/link]. It just has $150.00 worth of the GPM aluminum parts on it. AND it makes 10 - 20 HP because of a muffler. As a side note... I hope none of you believe this. Not one single 1/10 scale RC car makes more than 1 hp out of the box.
wow.... He wants 750 dollars for that thing???? I'm having a hard time selling my revo with a picco 26 and spectrum radio for 350........ I dont get it lol. Oh and he typed MPH hot HP on the add but still a pipe wont give you that much more speed. Lots of 1/10th scale rc's come with over "1 hp" out of the box there are very few rc's out there now that dont have at least 1.3 hp

Holy crap!!! I havent been on here in a long time I miss chattin with you guys just thought I would pop in to say hi to everyone again and Keith do you still have your savages? I keep blowing the diffs in my xl.... its starting to drain my wallet. I sold my mt2 to a good friend of mine last summer and so far the fastest we have had it up to was 55 mph (clocked with my car) thats with the tz and a single speed transmission still.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
K you must be kidding right???? lol there's got to be a way to put the centre diff into the mt2..... Your going to have to make your own transmission housing tho and try to find ont with the right pitch 1m? I think the mt2 is? Any way I think you can do it, you might have to modd your dog bones the because im sure the 1/8th scale mt is going to have bigger balls lol. I wanna try it now im always up for a challange.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
ORIGINAL: Savage_mt2_Attack Keith, yes i am running it without the servo saver because I found it made the steering and servo quite sloppy. With this setup, steering is much more responsive and centers itself more accurately. The servo itself is only a cheapo so if I break it there is no real loss but I doubt that will happen as this truck won't be seeing any jumps in its near future; just parked cars' tires haha! And about the servo flipping, I tried that but the end of the linkage hit my second tank so that didn't work... I believe I fixed the problem, however, but as always thanks for the kind advice. [:D]
Hey man, how do you like the road rage's? I put them on mine over a year ago and still havent tried them out lol. It just sits on my shelf to look at for some reason.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
I found that the polished hpi pipe was really REALLY GREAT. . . . . . . . . . . . for a paper weight........ lol You cant really compare any pipe to the stock blue revo pipe bored out because that stock pipe is the BEST pipe on the tz I have read it in tested it. Not saying that its GODS PIPE for every rc but the tz loves it. Every engine and driver has there own tastes in pipes. I have read alot about the buku pipes being very good but they come with a nice price and some extra care to keep them clean. Hope that helps a bit. Still not seeing any videos of these tz's guys..... If mine was running I would put some up asap. I busted all of my rc's in the past 2 weeks....... now the weather is in the -20's ish so no more bashing for me for a few months.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
As far as I can tell there were 2 guys out there (on here) lol that put the tz in the mt2 before I put mine in, Its nice to see that nobody is as scared of the tz now as they were about a year or so ago. I remember reading this thread and every second post from 46 was a warning to most users not to put the tz in there mt2 and to go with the cv-rx. Skatin, your going to have a blast with that thing its INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!! But heat up the engine with a hair dryer before you start it or pull it over to prevent premature wear on the piston, the pinch is extreemly tight on the tz. Take your time breaking it in and it will run for galons without dropping in power.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread
The single speed is really good you can still get some good speed out of it. Im thinking with a good engine and the right gears you should be able to get 45-50 mph and still have decend take off.
