RE: Phoenix UK Simulator with Aircraft
I love Phoenix and it's heli simulation but I think it is rather terrible with regards to planes. Slow flight is painfully unrealistic. Planes want to stall at 1/2 throttle making high alpha flight virtually impossible. They have a very slow feel to them when flying around at any throttle setting. The will not tumblethe controls get very mushy at lower power settings making. I have found RealFlight superior to Phoenix with airplanes and Phoenix superior to RF with helis. Just my opinion.

Mike Why do you recommend clipping the wings on a Cub? I've flown a few standard wing configurations and thought they flew well.

RE: JR- Futaba 2.4..Cant decide....
ORIGINAL: MOTORMAN37 All the Hype about there 2.4 FAST systems, and the radio is not smart enough to realize you are attempting to fly the wrong model. I have seen people do that over the years with the 72 systems. I thought all the companies would have made the hurdle with 2.4 now, but I guess JR was the onlyone who did.
I honestly believe that model match is not that important of a feature. I always double check to make sure I have the correct model loaded up before I even turn on the heli or plane. I've never had an issue bringing up the wrong model and then trying to start it.

Yep, it's side mounted. The head sticks out no more than a couple millimeters. That's just a guess right now, but it certainly doesn't stick out much at all.

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 58
It's been a while for this thread. How is everyone liking the Extra? I've been having problems with the wheel pants and the axles. The right wheel continually tightens when I tighten up the wheel pantthe wheel spinned freely prior to tightening the wheel pant. Figured out the nut-like spacer on the axle was moving causing the wheel to lock up. Found this out after the wheel pant fell off on landing and wound up in my prop. I may get another set and physically bolt the wheel pants to the gear or something. Looks much better with them on. Other than that, I've been wringing the sucker out!

I'll be there too. My first time and I'm very excited! Only about a 3 hour drive, so not too bad. Be there Friday through Sunday.

Hey man, go for it! The EF is a great airframe. You'll just have to be very careful with that much engine. I cruise around at like 1/4-1/3 throttle with the 82. It's a freakin rocket!

Maidened mine this past Sunday. Put a couple more flights on it today. The Saito 82 pulls it straight up until I can barely see it anymore. I like it! A lot of the guys have commented on how its a sweet little airplane and I have to agree!

The maiden for mine with the Saito 82 will be tomorrow. Ran the engine for a bit today in the back yard to put some time on it and try to get it ready so I wouldn't have to putz around with it tomorrow at the field. Looking forward to getting it in the air.

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 58"
Thanks for the reply. I think I'm looking at this setup: Saito .82 Hitec HS-225MG for aileron and elevator Hitec HS-635HB for rudder Hitec HS-81 for throttle (already have) I am in college and would rather not spend the money right now to put digitals in it. I'm definitely liking this plane the more I read about it

Good thread here guys! I'm definitely looking at this plane with either a Saito 72 or 82. Plan to run my Wildcat 30% heli fuel in it so I don't have to carry two types of fuel.

I like two strokes cause that's what I'm familiar with, but I fly helis now and would like to take only one type of fuel (30%) with me. I could fly the Saito on 30%. Hmm..

What engine for 90 Yak?
I'm looking at this plane and quite frankly do not want to read through 51 pages on the thread about the 90-120 Yak to find the answer. I'm looking for good power to do anything from IMAC-type maneuvers to 3D stuff. Out of these choices, which would be my best bet: OS 1.20AX, OS 1.60FX, Saito 1.25, Saito 1.50, or the Saito 1.80? Thanks

I was curious to know if either of those engines will run on 30% heli fuel as I would prefer to carry only one type of glow fuel with me rather than multiple types. Thanks

Looks like a pretty good setup. The servos aren't that great. I would pick up 3 Futaba 9252s if I were you and slap them on there. You can find them for like 70 bucks a piece new or find some online for decent prices.

RE: Review Teaser: JR Vibe 50
Andy, What's the battery you're using in the Vibe? You said it was a 2 cell lipo, whats the capacity and such? I'm curious to know because I was all set to get the Fromeco setup but with the shortage of Lion batteries and no one seems to know when they'll be back, I want to explore other options. The new FP reg looks intriguing for my setup: 3x9252, 1x3004, 401 w/ 9254. Thanks
