Frank turbine setup
Hello, I have a little problem with my TJ74: when I go over half throttle, it burns and go out. I modify all the setup and now, I'm a little lost. Could someone give me the "factory setup" for the ECU (pump volatge, ramp timing,etc...), please? Thanks Best regards Yannick

wing reinforcement for speed jet
Hello, I plan to make a speed turbine jet with a foam wing. My problem is that the airfoil is average 1 inch thick for 80in wingspan. To reinforce this wing, I plan to use 2 2in strip of carbon on each side of the wing. Then it will be sheeted of 2mm balsa and glassed with glass fiber and resin. Do you mind that's enough or have any other suggestion, please? Best regards Yannick

RE: Airfoil for a turbine speed jet
Thanks, but what about the landing speed. Do these airfoils accept large flaps to decrease their stall speed (or accross their lift) Yannick

Airfoil for a turbine speed jet
Hello, I'm looking for an airfoil to make a "bandit like" jet. Speed is important but the wing must be strong enough to resist to the high speed stress and the weight of the plane (20-22 lbs approx.) My aim is to reach at least 200 mph with my 145N turbine. I found airfoils such rg15 or mh33 but they're terrific thin and I don't know if such a wing will be strong enough. I probablhy build this wing with foam covered with balsa and glassed, and stronged with two kevlar/carbon strip (10 cm) on each side. On another thread, I've seen that the Naca65012 works on speed models, would it work on my project. The best way would be to have the real "comopsite bandit airfoil" but I didn't find it at all. Have anyone another suggestion or am I right with the 65012? Best regards Yannick

Thank you, I will have a look. I see that the tail of your plane is sliding on the ground during the launch. Isn't it dangerous? I plane to use this system for my sniper. Thank you Yannick

RE: lipo to nimh cells number conversion
The discharge rate will be average 45 Amps. For the weight 14 cells of GP2000 are about 500grs and a 4s pq 3700 (to have enough amps) are about 390gr. I will probably test with nimh first because the difference in costis really too important for me. Yannick

lipo to nimh cells number conversion
Hello, I'm going to upgrade my Het Sniper with a hetrc 2w20. This motor works amazing well with 4s lipo cells. The problem is that I don't want to buy such cells because of there price. I want using GP2000 Nimh Cells. How much cells do I connect to have the same power as with lipos, please? 12, 14, 16? Thanks Yannick

Mega 22/45/3e
Hello, I 'ce sen on Mega's site that this motor turns a 13x8 propeller to 10400 rpm. I would know if someone has any experience why this motor. My aim is the conversion of my 3100g(empty without motor) Topflite spitfire. At this time, the fighter is powered by an os 70 surpass with 12.5x8 propeller wich is turned at 10000 rpm. Do you mind that the mega could power my plane, please? Thanks. Yannick

RE: Yellow aircraft P38 CG
I got new exhausts and now I turn the 18x10 average 7000 RPM. It'ss really better and now this P38 flies like a P38 !!! More power in vertical flight would be better but it's already a progress. I will have new exhausts in seferal weeks to increase RPM's (perhaps 500-1000 rpm) so it will be wonderfull. This plane is wonderfull in flight !!! Another question: how did you install (and wich) exhausts and tanks in the Yellow P38? I have some difficulties to find the good installation. Thanks. Yannick

RE: f-86 Sabre documentation and ducted fan technique advises
Thanks, but my main problem is the money: I don't have enough to buy one of these kits. I know that it would be easier to buy one but I'm not ready to spend 800 - 1200 dollars for a "simple" kit. I have a lot of time to build but not many money, that's really a dilemma! I'm not a beginner in model conception but I don't have any experience in ducted fan. Perhaps do you know if there is good plans on the market? Thanks Yannick

f-86 Sabre documentation and ducted fan technique advises
Hello, I plan to build a F-86 Sabre fro a Ramtec ducted fan with an OS 91. I choose this plane because I'm a beginner in jet mlodels and this aicraft have a good inlet surface. My first problem is that I haven(t got any documentation or plan so I'm asking you to have a 3 views plan with fuse section if possible? My second question is about the ratio between inlet, fan and outlet surface. What is the best value for those parameters? Thanks Yannick France

Hi, today I flown the P38 for the third time. Propelers have been changed for 18x10 and it works well. A little problem with a landing gear door but nothing really important. Thank you to all. Here is a video of the first fly (click on the link). http://perso.wanadoo.fr/eulgeneral

RE: Yellow aircraft P38 CG
I tested 20x10 Menz-S this afternoon and I didn't have enough power to take off. Whith my new tachometer, I mesured 5300 rpm's !!! Next week, I'll test 18x10 or 12 to have more rpm's and more pitch to have more speed.

RE: Yellow aircraft P38 CG
Hello, I didn't mesure the peak RPM's. I'm sure that propellers were wrong because the plane was really slow especially in turns. The second thing is that the plane had really difficulties to go up, while it would be underpowered. That's why I'm quite sure that it was a propeller problem. For the 20x10's, do your friend use the stock muffler or another one? I've planned to use something as 19x10 or 19x12 but if you say that my motor can turn 20x10 and that it works, I would test it. Thank you for your answer. Yannick

RE: Yellow aircraft P38 CG
Hello, thanks for all these good advises. I flew maiden sunday afternoon. It was OK. Take off without flaps. ZG 38 motors are powerfull but there isn't to much power. I didn't test rolls or loops because I was quite nervous. I used full flaps for landing and they're very efficient and slow really the plane. It was only two negative things: when I turn, the plane seems to accentuate the movement and rolled into the bend while sinking a lot. Is that a normal behaviour? Perhaps is my CG too forward, but I'm just on the setting of the instruction manual. The twice is that I think that my plane flies a little too slow. I use Menz-S 18/8 for propeller but I plan to try 19/10 to have more speed and less noice. Did someone test this configuration, please? I have a video of this fly but I don't know wer I can post it. Is it possible to post it on the RCU site? You're all right: flying a P38 is really an amazing experience: sound and look are really specials and nothing can replace these feelings!!! Yannick who's very happy about this maiden although he broke propellers by actioning the landing gear switch after landing ;-()
