RE: Powered Glider Suggestions?
I also have a Magellan and really like it. It is even less RTF than the Vista and a much different glider as it is designed full house with a 4 servo wing. Yes alot depends on what you are really looking for.

RE: Powered Glider Suggestions?
RTF means with servos, motor, ESC, radio, etc in the box. With that you are limiting yourself to a foamie. Get at least a 2 meter with a built up wing and you'll be happier. Something like the Tower Hobbies Vista EP is good but you'll have to put the servos and radio gear in. The stock brushed system works really good on a 3s 2200mA Lipo.

RE: No one knows about rigging?
I'm not an authority on when vintage really is but they do have official designations. I fly old timer stuff designed back in the 30's (designed as models) I think the newest vintage would be early '60's and back... Good luck with the build.

RE: No one knows about rigging?
I don't know but 1981 is not "vintage" per se. I don't see that it was a popular model, maybe no one on the boards knows about it. I did a search and I don't see that any of the models have rigging. Are you sure it is supposed to? I assume you've done a search of here and RCG?

I agree, the only real way to get a dirt cheap 100cc airframe is to be selective when you buy used and get a lot for not much...

So we went from a $300 airframe to a $775 and now a $1050. Sorry we are way off the looked for dirt cheap 100cc airframe... Like having a Corvette and someone saying for another 100 grand you can have a Ferrari... [:D]

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
A freind of mine this, my uncle that... [8|] Was it the $280 one? I'd never try to fly an airplane that cheap. It's got to be at least $300 to be decent... [;)]
ORIGINAL: NM_Mark A friend of mine had the NP Sukhoi, and notice I said he ''had'' it - he was flying one day, pulled up to do a stall turn, and the the tail broke off just ahead of the stab - literally ripped the fuse in two. He then spent 2 hours looking for the pieces of his plane - thinks like servos, battery's, etc. It hit so hard it bent the crank on his DLE111 - very expensive crash. My opinion - if you are looking for cheap, you get what you pay for! Just sayin' - Mark
You'll love this... Got three great flights on the big Yak today, really good flights. So good I decided to treat it to a set of carbon gear, just ordered them from Chief. Nothing really wrong with my reenforced originals but I feel it did great for me today so I'm going to return the favor. RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Yes to 36V... It would be some hi-ish amps and with any speed plane battery placement gets touchy. Do 2 3S packs and it'd be a lot easier to fit. If it was easy we'd all be going 200, right?
ORIGINAL: iron eagel
ORIGINAL: evan-RCU Too high a kV... think 6S 4000-5000mA and a 8X7 APC fuel prop... the 1515-2.5D will get you over 180 on 3000W.
Is that the one rated

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Well, unfortunately it has more drag. Fortunately it can fit more batteries if you do 2 3S packs of about 4000mA. With that and a 1512-2Y and a 8x7 to start and then a 8x8 you'd have a ton of fun. Watch the classifieds here or pu a want add for a 15 series of 1300 to 1500kV and then prop it appropriately.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
No, I was just going with what Iron Eagle was doing. He's talking a SD which is a .40 size plane. The Outlaw being a .32 size and not really designed for speed I'd prop it to 140 or so.

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
I'm taking mine out again tomorrow... [:D] I've been told that the NP 100cc Yak is built much like the original V1 QQ Yak. What gen do you have and what did you do to it that you didn't like? Did the elevators and other surfaces come prehinged? Seems like that is one of the big 3 complaints about the NP version, not enough hinge points. I've heard this abou ta lot of the high buck ones too, that the add extra hinges. The other big complaint is adding extra glue to the fuse, I did do that. And the third is the crappy gear, I also agree with that but I didn't replace it I re-enforced it.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
Though some impressive speeds have been attained by outrunners recently I am still of the belief an inrunner is better for speed and an outrunner for torque (hovering and 3D)... The Neu's are all speed... unless you slap a gear box on it... [:D]

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
I agree and it's not only Nitro Planes, everyone is guilty of making their products look better than they are, some that come to mind quick are Hobby King, Hobby Lobby, Pete at Banana, even Tower/ Great Planes and Horizon/ H9.. Some they are testing the product as is but the video is cut in a way that makes it look awesome flying. Like the videos of the little $25 helo's were each clip is no more than a second or two and put together it looks like it's doing a Airwolf flight... And then there's car companies, the add with Carl Edwards in the Ford Taurus drifting it through the corners.. As far as stopping someone from flying an unsafe plane, I will to an extent. I've had some people get mad but they always come back to thank me after they cool down.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
The Scorpion and Hyperion are not the same motor though I think they may be made in the same factory. My little e dust is only 24.25" span to get a full size dust or SD to fly on a 28-56 -3200kV would be something, seems like it should be too small a motor to turn the size prop you'll need, at least a 7". Worth trying but by my seat of the pants I'd look to a 1509 Neu or even bigger. They come up on the classified quite often.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
I found the 16/15/2 on a slightly cut down 4.1x4.1 to be a great setup for a small S400 pylon plane but a delta is much less efficient and the small 4.1x4.1 was too small. So I tried the /3 and it got too hot. So I went to the Ammo and a larger prop. Took alot of experiments to find a good combo.

RE: Dirt cheap 100cc airframe?
So what are yo ugoing to do inspect every 50cc and up plane that comes out to fly and tell them they can't becuase you think they need more hinges in the elevators or a stronger tail wheel? Some things truely should be noted and told to the pilot not knowing what to look for but if anyone tried to tell me my aircraft isn't "safe" that's another thing. Me not safe, well that's another subject...[:D] Do you have rules by aircraft size at your filed, curious. We don't other than the AMA's when you get really big.

RE: OUTLAW from EXTREME FLIGHT
For the electric there are four cooling holes over the motor and the hole to lift the battery hatch (held on with magnets) is the exit with channels through the interior. I've tried it with a few different motor/ESC/ battery set ups and the most fun set up is the lower power/ lighter set up. It is not full Diamond Dust size and set up like it is now is in the 130mph range. I don't remember the motors but it started with a mega 16/15/2 on 3S then went to a /3 on 4S and I think it has a 28mm Ammo in it on 3S now, I think with a Castle Thunderbird 54A ESC. Like I said I don't consider it fast but it does an awesome roll. And flys really well, gets very slow while maintaining stability.

By the specs you have it sounds good. Do you have a link? If you can fair it in like I did on this electric dust it'd be great.
