That would be great. I do appreciate that. You wouldn't happen to have a side view of the fuselage? I have plan view from top but not the side

Pica Trojan
I picked up a Pica T-28 (65" version) kit at an auction last fall and I would like to build it, but there is no instruction manual. Researching this plane tells me that few of the kits had manuals. I have built a few planes but I think I am way over my head without a manual . Just wondering if anyone out there could give me some help. Another question- Is this plane the same as the Dave Platt 65" model? Also, I think I could figure out the wings. It is the fuselage that has me baffled.

RE: WACO YMF
What a vacation. My wife and I spent a week in Maine (Mount Desert Island) and I had a chance to fly in a 1999 Waco YMF-5. The pilot even let me fly the plane the whole flight except take off and landing. The experience of a life time. Can't wait till it cools off here in Kansas so I can get my pica out and fly again.

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Brotherhood.
I have been rebuilding my ultimate after a bad dead stick last fall. Can't get my !#*% OS 91 FX to keep running in the air. Anyway I don't have the plans and I can not find information on the balance point/ center of gravity. I down loaded the manual but if it is there I can not find it. Could someone please share with me this info? Thanks Wayne

That is probably right. I bought this plane 3 yeras ago and just worked up the nerve to fly her last week end. Hey Neil K. Does this plane look familiar?

RE: WACO YMF
I am happy to report that my maiden flight of my Waco was a success. First flight was rather nerve racking. It was tail heavy, elevator throws were too high, it wanted to dive all the time, and it coughed a couple times which made me more nervous, but after adding about 4 oz. to front of cowl and taming the elevator dow to 75%, the second flight was GREAT.

RE: NEW DLE30!
microdon2 Yes it is the goldberg SU 26. Been quite a challenge for me as it is only my third build, but I've loved every minute. This kit was the first edition with LG on the wing and I changed that to mount LG to the fuselage. I am just learning how to set up gassers so that makes even more of a challenge. Maybe I can post a pic later.

RE: NEW DLE30!
OK, guys. I am stting up a new dle 30 on a goldberg sukhio that I've been building for several months now. I am using s charge switch for the receiver and I want to use another charge switch for the ignition battery. The question is-is ther a danger of interference if the two switches are close to each other? There is no room anywhere else because cowl is in the way. Wayne

JR 7202 problem
I have a JR 7202 that I have been using for about 3 years now and yesterday, after a couple hours of use the throttle trim would not go down. It would go up but not down. My question is has anyone experienced anything like this? And does anyone know if this is something that could be fixed easily? Possibly dirty contacts or something? I don't want to have to send it in if possible. Wayne

RE: US 1000 build
Well, I finally got the engine to settle out. Seems as though there were several problems with the ST3250. Mainly the carb was not sealed down and was drawing air, it wasn't broke in as well as I had hoped, and some inexperience on my part. I have put her in the air several times in the past few days and just decided to run the heck out of it. AND WOW, it's like that is what it needed all along. It fliesand goes straight up like a home sick angle now. I am very happy with it now, and quite fast and true.

The out of date sample chips are great place to mix epoxy. I like to take my needle nose pliers and break 1/4'' piece off the edge for stirring stick. Use rest for place to mix on and when done discard. Wayne
Here is a good way to handle laminate on counter tops. Instead of wax paper, place a series of dowels on top of the fiberboard with the glue on, and place the glued laminate on top of the dowels. Once you have the laminate aligned, you remove the dowels one at a time, and you are good to go. Been doing that for a long time too. We were the largest Kitchen company in Central Florida. Lots of Laminate, Quartz, Solid Surface, Granite and more.
Seems there are several ways to skin a cat. I had friend who made tops a long time ago. He used venetian blind slats to hold apart for alignment. We have been using the wax paper for 30 years and get along very well with it. Works especially well when making a mirror cut joint. Almost invisible seam. Wayne

RE: WACO YMF
[quoteYep. Contact Cement. Spray both parts, let it tack up, and hope you get it on straight first time. You won't get a second chance. quote] I thought I woud butt in here if that is OK. I have a lot of experience with contact cement because we lay up a lot of countertops. One of the easiest ways to work with positioning parts is to lay 2 or 3 strips of wax paper down (covering the surface)on the glue once it dries enough to not stick to you fingers, and lay the piece on it to be glued down then position it, clamp it so it doesn't move. then take one piece of wax paper out, stick that section down, then take the rest of the wax paper out. The wax paper will not stick tight to contact cement and does not affect the integerty of the glue. Hope this helps. Wayne PS, I have a Pica Waco that I have not had the nerve to fly yet as I am only a couple years into the hobby. It is a beautiful plane w/ OS 120 up front.

St 3000/3250 I'm stumped
I have a St 3000 and a ST 3250. I have had them both in the same plane and neither one will draw fuel up to the carb when I try to choke them before starting. I have even put fuel in a small external tank, new hoses, held it at the same level as the carb, outside the plane. And held my thumb over carb and proped it and still nothing.. The engines run for a short time if I squirt fuel directly into the carb. I am sure I am doing something dumb, but it is driving me crazy. Any suggestions what I can try?? Wayne

Like I said, I am not servo savy, so this is probably a dumb question. So please bare with me. The Hitec servos that I have are digital and my radio equipment is analog. JR 7202. I think they are compatable. Is that correct?

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Build
I looked them up and the Hitec 548 HB servos I have are almost exactly the same torque as Futaba S3152 so I should be OK. However my fuse is set up with the single elevator servo midship. Will that make that much difference or should I think about changing?

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Build
I have my wings sheeted and ready to install the servos. Rudder is pull pull so far. ( I bought the fuse that way) It currently has cheap futaba S148 for everything. But I probably need to upgrade. I have a Saito 125 I would like to try on this plane. Matching servos to planes is not one of my strong points. I have enough Hitec 5485HB servos to do everything except throttle. That includes two for alerions. What do you think?

RE: Carl Goldberg Ultimate 10-300 Build
Top wing is framed up and bottom sheeted. I improvised with parts I could find around the shop for the wireguide tube. I found a couple brass eyelets from some old servos. Used them and used copper tube (same OD) from an old thermocoupler off of a furnace. Took out the copper wire from inside, and rolled the tube between two boards to straighten it. Found a peice of hard plastic tube that fit over it and the eylets for a coupling and epoxied in place. I also decided to glue in an piece of 1/8 ply in front and behind the brass eyelets for easier line up and to stiffen the sheeting around the slots cut for the cabane bracket that goe into the wing.

Thanks, That is what I was hoping to see. How did you fasten the wood posts that the servo screws go in? Epoxy? Seems it would need more strength. I have a four star 60 that is set up that way but it still concerns me.
