Firestorm mounted Light and Donuts Video
Here's a video of my Firestorm with a Light mounted on it. Doing donuts in the dirt, kicking up a a nice dirt cloud and nice Rooster Tails! [:D] So, thick you can't see the truck anymore. [:)] http://rcuvideos.com/item/RBXPH8963DRBZYXH The quality is not great, bad camera that doesn't record sound. So, I put music over top. But, the light is really cool in Flashing mode! Check it out. It's only 1min30sec long. Edit: Well, I thought my light looked cool! lol [:D]

I use 10w-40 motorcycle oil in my diff. It makes a great improvement in turning on-power.

When I get a new engine, I take it apart and flush it out with fuel. Clean with a q-tip. Sometimes there's some metal shaving left over, this is obviously bad. Once the engine is all cleaned out. Put it back together, Sealing it with some Permatex Silicone Sealant. I use the Black Tube.

RE: Steering trim won't work - why?
Try another servo or switch the servo connections around on the receiver. If the new servo works fine, then the problem is with the servo. If the trim doesn't work on any servo, then the Tx is the problem.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
No there's nothing wrong with HPI engines. It's hard for us to say, because you can't even tell us whats really wrong with your engine. That fact tells me that you don't really know what you're doing well enough to diagnose this problem Having this information, I would conclude that you probably broke it. It sounds like it's the connecting rod. It may have been flooded when you were trying to start it. Take it apart and see before you start making claims against the quality of HPI engines. HPI will probably be able to tell how you broke it and/or if it was a manufacturing problem.

Don't bother trying to find leaks, just Seal the whole thing now. It's not worth your time trying to find a leak, when it's so easy to just seal it and eliminate that problem.

RE: -=OFFICIAL HPI FIRESTORM THREAD=-
I basically do it like this. -> http://racefactorindustries.com/id1.html I don't think there is any one "heat cycle method". Your engine will heat cycle whether you like it or not, you have to stop the engine sometime. Here are some important tips. -You must get the temperature up above +200°F. Use tin foil and a hair dryer/heat gun to help, especially, if you're idling with Rich settings. -Rich is Good, but not too rich that it runs too cool. -Be smooth and gradual with the throttle, no sudden blipping. -Gradually increase the amount of the throttle that is used throughout break-in. Idle>25%>50%>75%>100%.
ORIGINAL: scobeh please help my rear wheels have locked up i did check the diff and found nothing when i pick up the wheels they spin fine but when i put them back on the ground it will not mouve dis connected the brack same thing help???
You need to get better at asking questions. I barely understand you, how do you expect us to help you like that? Did you open the transmission case and check the gears? When you say it will not move on the ground... with the engine running? or trying to move it by hand? If it's with the engine running and revving without moving, it's your clutch. If it's with the engine off and you can't move it, it's the transmission/Driveline/Brakes. Use your manual to help you identify parts and check them.

RE: Thinking about getting a new car/truck/ST
The Firestorm is a good Stadium Truck. If you're going to be bashing in grass and stuff, I would recommend a Monster Truck like the HPI Savage. The Firestorm does pretty good in short grass, but overall Monster Trucks are better bashers. :)

Put some thicker oil in your diff. Turning is greatly improved. I'm currently using 10W 40 motor oil in my diff and it turns on a dime. Off-throttle it turns a little bit too hard and is very easy to oversteer, but fun to catch by getting back on the throttle. Try it, it's a cheap thing to try.
