Hey guys, since one of my bowtie tires is busted up now I gotta change them out. I've got a full set of maxx Mashers and a full set of IMEX maxx Swamp Dawgs unmounted. I just ordered a set of Proline maxx dish wheels with 23mm hex and am going to dye them black. Which set of tires should I put on them though? What do u think will look the best?

RE: HPI nitro MT racer
I changed my racer and my RTR over to the MT2 slipper just because Savage spurs are so much easier to find if I need one. What should I do about finding a bigger tank for both of these trucks?

RE: HPI nitro MT racer
I also added a center front universal to the MT RTR along with E-clip hinge pins. I also had to install the HPI limited slip diff springs to the truck. I put the hard spring in the front and medium spring in the rear. That should help with traction and handling alot.

The pipe is a SH brand rpm tuned pipe. It works awesome with the LRP .28[;)] I finally got the pullstart installed and charged up the reciever pack to run this truck. I put 2 tanks through it and didn't even have to touch the needles on it. I am so happy with this truck. It's just so bulletproof and reliable.

RE: HPI nitro MT racer
All you need is the MT2 slipper kit. It will work perfectly on the MT1 and it uses Savage spur gears. If you still have a problem with stripping spurs, then upgrade to a steel spur but for now just use the Savage spur gear the kit comes with. here is what you need [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYP4&P=7]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFYP4&P=7[/link]

RE: HPI nitro MT racer
I've been wanting to run this truck so bad, I finally bought another one (already used and scratched up) so I don't have to worry about it. It came with a OS .15 CV and a JR XR3 radio so right now I'm just doing the necessary hop-ups to it. I added a thicker chassis that I already had, new better flowing header and Associated tuned pipe, turnbuckles, and MT2 slipper kit with Savage spur gears. This truck already had a 2-speed kit installed so I'm thinking about putting that on the MT racer truck. I will get some pics up in a few days so you guys can see them side by side.

I finally found a NIP carbon fiber upper deck from HPI and some carbon graphite A-arms to add to this truck along with some silver titanium steering knuckles. This truck has got to be my "One and only" shelf queen. All the others get bash very hard all the time.

RE: HPI nitro MT racer
I decided to get that old beat up 1/8th buggy pipe off the truck so I ordered a new Savage header, exhaust coupler, and the HPI RPM tuned pipe for it. I wanted all the parts to be nice and shiney. Then I added some HPI hinge pin braces and HPI purple turnbuckles to it along with the HPI threaded aluminum shocks with aluminum spring retainers. I am still trying to get one of the carbon fiber upper decks for this truck but I am having a hard time locating one right now. I will post up a few new updated pics soon.

I like the bars so far. And yea I saw the oneways, but I'm really wanting a spool. It would just be nice to find a oneway with a spool all in one. Kinda like they make for my FT TC4.

RE: Official Dark Impact Thread
Well guys, I still haven't gotten my custom DI decals printed yet, but I did just get finished installing Bahr's sway bars all around it today. I also pulled out the SS 4300 motor and replaced it with a LRP Sphere and Neo 1 kit with the new Trinity 4500 2s lipo. What do you guys think about the 3Racing premounted tires on ebay? Also, do any of you know where I can find a spool for the front? I would really like to have a one-way spool for it.

RE: T4 clicking noise
It could also be on the spur or pinion gear. If you messed up a few teeth on the spur it will do that or if the pinion gear moved on the motor shaft so the grub screw hits the spur gear it can do that too. If I was you, I would tear it down and check things out before just ordering parts.

RE: Savagex brakes
I run a MGT Robo disc on my Savage .25 SS and it works awesome. [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFVB6&P=Z]http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFVB6&P=Z[/link] It is a little larger and thicker then the stock one but it still fits and works a whole lot better then stock. This truck will easily do endo's with a JR 590 servo pulling the brakes. Your first upgrade should be to replace the spring on the brake linkage with fuel tubing and then get a nicer servo though. I suggest buying a good steering servo and then moving the stock one to your throttle and brakes if you only wanna buy one. That will help your braking alot even with your stock setup.

RE: what would make me faster
a nice ESC will definately make a difference in performance using the same ESC. For instance, you can take a 17 turn speed gems and run it on a Traxxas XL-1 ESC. But if you use something like a Novak Cyclone, Tekin G11 Pro or any other nice foward only ESC, you will see a huge increase in performance.

RE: no nitro crawlers
Here is something for you nitro boys to try. If you don't wanna try or are affraid to try to hold the tires of your nitro MT and then pulling the throttle trigger, pull the truck completely up against a wall or your foot or something. Then pull the trigger and see what happens. The tires will not spin and the motor won't rev up. It will just bogg down. Where is your almighty nitro torque at now? Now do the same thing with a electric MT (E-maxx or E Savage or whatever else you got). It will either spin, break a axle, or flip upside down trying to climb whatever it is. That is why electric motors are so much more popular in crawlers. They won't bog down. They will either climb over or break something trying to.
