RE: Mobil Jet Oil II mixing with Methanol
The discoloration is not a problem. It is the turbine oil reacting with sunlight. It does the same thing in Kero for rc turbines. The fuel is still completely usable.

RE: 1/8th scale B-1B
When I read you had the bomber for sale, the first thing I thought was , Dad will have to build another set of gear. Then with all the goodies you built, you would have to start over again, like the main bulkhead and the tail mechanism. Pulling the original apart to salvage as much as possible makes sense to me.

It's going to be a carbon fiber , 1/8 " pink poly foam sandwich. If you go back to the videos where he is building the fuse for Sharp pencil, you will see the foam.

Bob is going to use the foam sandwich he used on the f-105. He figures that will drop about 100 - 140 pounds off the B1

Isn't it amazing that you can have over 1300 videos on youtube but there are always questions about the B-1 Flying! LOL

You could see the stress in Bobs face as he taxied out to the end of the runway. All I know is at that point , I'm always nervous as H**L!!! Thought you were gonna pass out after it landed. LOL Great job on the build and even better on the maiden. I think you deserve a drink after that.

Brushless motors and pusher props
Morning all, Do you have to use a pusher prop on a brushless motor for a lingcat etc.? Or can you use a normal prop and reverse the rotation? Will this throw off the thrust line or cause a torque roll or any unwanted thrust issues?

Bob has been building a Cougar for some B1 money, then he was at a St. Louis jet fly. Give him some time and he will be back with a vengence.

I'm flying a edf f-16 with a 70mm fan and 3500kv motor. Will I get longer flights with a 14v 3000ma 20c battery or a 14v 3000ma 35c battery? Also will the power be much of a difference?

I've been following this build since the very start and am always amazed at the ability of you and Bob-o-vision to overcome the problems.( I didn't mean to leave anyone out, Dad,Sharp Pencil,LOL) Are the flap tracks made out of the tooling board as well? What are they going to be fabricated from? Incredible minds making and incredible model.

RE: rossi 61 df
I'm running this in a ducted fan Hawk. The fuel I use, I mix myself and have no trouble in any other of my glow engines. It is 16% oil in methanol, no nitro. Do you know the initial settings for the needle valves and I can go from there.

rossi 61 df
I have a Rossi 61DF engine that is about 10 years old. I am having trouble setting it back up. It will start, idle and run up to about half throttle. If I go higher, it stalls. The carb has 2 needle valves, 1 one the side where the fuel line is connected and 1 on the other side where you connect the linkage. When the fan is out of the plane, it runs great, as soon as I put the fan back in the plane, I have the trouble. I am using a header tank. Anyone know the basic needle valve settings for this engine?

RE: setting gain with no pot for gain?
Actually, I'm trying it in a fixed wing aircraft ailerons (su-31 acrobatic) So from what I have read, the gain is set on ch 5. I have 3 computer radios, so what setting is it, EPA or is there something else? PS. I'm trying to keep it in rate mode, not HH.

setting gain with no pot for gain?
Hello all, I am new to this site so some of the questions may sound dumb. I have a Esky EK2-0704B gyro that I am trying to set up but I read of settings that lose me. For instance, gain , delay and limit but I only have delay and limit on my gyro. How do you set gain? Thanks in advance.
