Break-In Questions for Aquacraft 18 (RTR Miss Vegas)
Well my Miss Vegas RTR is coming this Friday and I'd like to break it in asap to run Sunday. I was wondering if it'd be acceptable to run it with water going to the cooling head on the bench? Run a few tanks through on rich settings for break-in but instead of doing it at the lake, just do it on the stand with water going to it via a pop bottle and some fuel line tubing? Thanks for any help. -Chris

I just ordered my miss vegas rtr today and I'm already thinking upgrades. I have grims metal prop coming but want to know what else the most recent vegas hull needed to make it fast. Also is there an electric starter for the os 18? I'd like to eliminate the pull start. Thanks. I checked out the first page of this thread and want to know which of these steps are still relevant today?

Nitro Planes F-22 Raptor Servo Problems
I ordered a receiver ready F-22 from nitro planes and all I can say is that I'm ready to scream. 2/3 servoes were bad upon receiving it, I talked to their customer service and they sent me three more, of which 2 worked. So I have three "working" servoes and by working I mean will kinda move and will twitch sometimes. Has anyone else had this problem? I just want to see if anyone else has had this problem or noticed this?

RE: Motor question for Reactor Bipe
I believe Backyard Flyer testest the Reactor Bipe and their's was around 33.5oz AUW. I'm not sure what battery they used, I would guess probably Electrifly 11.1V 2100mah lipo. My brother has an Electrify battery and it's pretty light compared to my common sense battery. Not sure on the mini-pulse's AUW. They suggest a rimfire 35-36-1200 outrunner motor, but then mine is just a 450 890kv motor.

Motor question for Reactor Bipe
Hi, I've got a 450 size brushless motor from my Mini-Pulse and I'm wondering if this motor would be sufficient for a Reactor bipe? I believe it's rated at 950kv and I've got a 22 or 25 amp speed control. Unfortunately I recently crashed my Mini-Pulse that these electronics came out of and I'm looking for a plane to use my motor/speed control in that is a bit more 3D aerobatic capable. I'm really interested in flying a bipe and I like the looks/lines of this one. Thank you.

RE: New to jets, A-10 input would be great!
I can fly pretty well actually. I'm now starting to do maneuvers with my mini-pulse and I've already been through an electric trainer and now I'm flying a sport plane pretty well. I've got a nitro trainer I'll fly next. I planned on getting an EDF jet trainer first but my birthday is coming up and the only thing I really want is the A-10. I don't think I'd want to buy any of those foam A-10's, I've read too much on the various forums about them how they don't fly at all and I don't trust them at all. I was looking at nitroplanes.com through some of the EDF's but I haven't decided on what to get for a trainer yet. The A-10 probably won't be flown for a while because I plan on first assembling the kit, buying the electronics, then buying the batteries. I'm going to do it in stages. I've also got an A-10 on my flight sim I'm quite good at flying and spend a lot of time flying it.

RE: New to jets, A-10 input would be great!
I assume you're Chris True? I've been reading some of your build-up and it doesn't seem too difficult. My experience with building planes is basically none. My first plane was a joint venture with my brother for a Hobbyzone Super Cub RTF. My current plane is Mini-Pulse XT P-N-P (plug and play) basically I dropped in a receiver and battery. This would be my first kit plane I've ever built, I am mechanically inclined though and can follow directions. Plus I've got your build-up to use also. I am interested to know if you could list a couple different options as far as the motors/esc's/batteries? Since I need two of everything I'm trying to be budget minded when it comes to this project. I've got an A-10 EDF on my simulator and I love to fly it. Thanks!

New to jets, A-10 input would be great!
Hello to all, I'm new to EDF jets and am quite interested in learning to fly them. Right now I've been working with RealFlight G3.5 quite a bit in addition to going through various trainer planes to build my skill. Right now I'm flying a Horizon Hobby Mini-Pulse XT, brushless motor/lipo battery. I'm starting to think ahead to what my next project might be. I really enjoy the scale looks of military aircraft and have always loved the looks of the A-10. Originally I was looking to purchase a kit from Wowplanes.com, but soon realized it maybe too much for my budget right now. I did a search on Google for EDF jets and a site came up that has a smaller A-10 ARF kit, the site is: [link=http://www.ejf.com]Electric Jet Factory[/link], they primarily specialize in EDF jets. Here is a direct link to the A-10 I'm interested in: [link=http://www.ejf.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=70_97&products_id=226]A-10 EDF[/link], has anyone had any experience with this plane as far as flying it or products from this company? Also if anyone is willing could you possibly direct me to a site featuring equipment that would be needed to complete the jet, I'm a bit of a bargain hunter and if I can find a better deal I always take it. Thanks and any help would be greatly appreciated!

A-10 Thunderbolt (Warthog) Kits?
Hi I'm interested in building an A-10 for my scale aircraft and it seems there is a distinct lack of kits available. I know GWS has a kit but I'm looking for something a little larger and definitely not foam. I have found a site (wowplanes) that offers a kit but wondered if anyone knew of anything smaller? Preferably electric ducted fan powered. Any help you might offer is great appreciated, thank you.

RE: Spektrum DX6 Questions/Concerns
If/when I go to larger planes I'll probably pick up a DX6i at least. Right now I kinda like the idea of not having to worry about the mess associated with a nitro/gas plane, electrics are so clean and with nitro going way up in price I don't have to worry about that. I do however plan hopefully to get an A-10 Thunderbolt, will be electric ducted fan powered but it is larger than my current plane in which case I'll probably just sell the DX6 and go with either a 6i or a 7, depending on finances at the time. Thanks, I feel pretty comfortable now with what I have but I know in the future when I go bigger I need to get a better radio.

Honestly I wasn't aware it was a park flyer model, being a DX6 I assumed it was the model previous to the dx6i, I didn't know it was "park-flyer" specific. I'm just really wary that I'm going to crash my plane or something because it's going to fly out of range or something. It's a lightweight/balsa airframe. 450 sized brushless motor. Here is a link to it's info: http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL2450, it's wingspan is 42.5"

Spektrum DX6 Questions/Concerns
Hello to all, I'm very new to the RC airplane scene and I'm trying to do this the right way. So here is what I have and I think I maybe going about this the wrong way. I've got a Mini-Pulse P-N-P ready to go with lipo power. I thought a Spektrum DX6 transmitter/AR6000 receiver would work well with it, so I bought it. I haven't flown it yet but after reading the manual for the DX6, it sounds to me as though there is very little range. The way it seems to me is that if you're range testing at only 90 ft. (approx.), is that all the range you have? If I'm right, what radio would be a good economical choice? Thank you.

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
I plan on visiting local fields with asphalt runway. I'm a little nervous about hitting fields with grass, I've seen videos of people flying them in and taking them off from the grass but I'd like somewhere with no trees and a good runway. I went to my lhs and picked up some Dubro #4 silver washers and a pack of hook/loop fastener tape. Should I just cut a strip to match the length of the battery? Do I still need a strap also to secure the battery if I cut a strip to fit the length of the battery? Hopefully my radio will come quickly and I'll be able to take it for it's maiden flight this weekend. Any other tips before flight? Just curious what is the average speed for this plane? I'm flying the stock E-flite motor with 11.V lipo 2100mah battery and stock 25amp speed control. Just kinda curious because I know everyone I work with is going to want to know. Thanks to all for the help on this thread!

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
Okay I got mine today, it seems the guy I bought it forgot to include a few things or the hobby store that assembled didn't include somethings. I'm looking for the two #4 black washers that attach the landing gear onto the bottom of the fuselage. Any part numbers would be helpful. Also probably the more important thing I'm missing is the hook/loop tape and a hook/loop strap. Once again part #'s would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know if E-flite has any type of a hardware kit you can buy for the plane, I could use back-up screws/washers. One thing I noticed too is I could use more of the silver #4 washers used to attach the wing to the fuselage. I doubt my local hobby store carries any of this stuff, does Dubro perhaps have these parts I could look for? Thanks.

RE: E-Flite Mini Pulse XT Owner's Club
I bought my MP off ebay and I can't wait to get it. I'm actually looking forward to having a plane that goes where I point it and has high quality electronics. I picked up an almost new Spektrum DX6 tx/rx for controlling duties. I like the Super Cub because it was a great beginner plane but it seemed like trims were constantly changing and the servoes has no ability to center correctly. I plan on turning the epa down to prevent me from over-controlling the plane. I wanted something high quality and something that could grow with me as far as my ability to fly is. I definitely plan on checking all the screws to make sure they're tight. Any other tips before my maiden voyage?
