RE: TF 60 Sized Corsair ARF?
I figure it's probably a mistake or a typo, but I can hope. I figure one of the reasons it hasn't been done is the added cost of producing the flap set up, but I would pay more than their other arf's for a corsair. I am not picky about things being exact scale, but warbirds without flaps don't interest me.

RE: TF 60 Sized Corsair ARF?
I have e-mailed tf before suggesting the arf the .60 corsair, but please have the working flaps. Maybe a lot of others have requested the same thing.

RE: P-38 ARF's on market
Another company that decided to be real jerks about the licensing deal was Ford. They went after every company that was using the mustang name or logo and demanded licensing fees, etc. So all the classic mustang parts houses were going to change names. Eventually I think they backed off though.

RE: P-38 ARF's on market
I hadn't really thought about the legal end of it. Makes some sense because Lockheed is still in business as opposed to most WWII plane makers. I've seen the yellow models. Nice, but I just don't have the time right now for something like that.

P-38 ARF's on market
Is anyone other than Nitromodels currently selling an ARF p-38? Whatever happened to the one VQ was supposed to come out with? Why did KMP quit making the p-38?

ChuckW- How does that thing sound with no muffler? I was thinking of doing that and since I fly in the middle of no where loud is OK.

ys 91 exhaust angled stack
Trying to get my YS 91 into my top flite P-47 and I need a 45 degree stack to get the exhaust out the bottom. I was told performance specialties makes one, is a bit pricey. I didn't see one on their website, but haven't called yet. Do stacks from any other engines fit this motor. I think the thread is 13mm by 1 mm pitch.

RE: multiplex easy glider
I have a newer airtronics 2.4 in mine and can fly it as far as you can see it with no problems. I didn't bother to run the antennas outside the the radio compartment either. Your model probably has a range check mode, use it to get some peace of mind before the first flight.

RE: Inverted Mount Magnum .91 won't idle
I bought the motor used, but I am unsure of the run time. Currently running 15% nitro. It' mounted in a plane right now, but I am going to pull it out and put it on a stand to try and figure this out.

Inverted Mount Magnum .91 won't idle
I now this is a somewhat common problem, but I'm trying to remember the solutions. I have an inverted mount Magnum .91 4 stroke that will not idle without the glow driver on it. It has a OS F glow plug(tried a new one). The tank is slightly higher than the carb, but not a lot. I've wasted a lot of time chasing the low speed needle(after the high was set), and nothing really helps. It will idle for about 10 seconds at best, then die. Compression seems good, but not positive because this is the first and only four stroke I own and I have nothing to compare to. Will an idle bar glow plug help? Different heat range? Idles great with the glow driver attached.

RE: Stock zen rpm and pipe lengths?
Thunderboat rules require that the motor is completely stock except for the 257 carb. I am looking for rpm and pipe length info for this particular combo.

Stock zen rpm and pipe lengths?
Been tweaking on my thunderboat and was wondering what others are using as pipe length on the stock zen/257 combo. My pipe is a CC with a 2" band. I am at about 13" right now from the face of the head. Also, what is good rpm for this engine to run? Just want to make sure I am not looking for more rpm than should be expected. Finally, what type of tachs are out there to use on these motors. I have a borrowed sendec right now, but need to get my own.

Curious as to where you bought it. I've had one on B-O from Tower since about the third day they were listed. Just wondering if they are finally shipping.

RE: Ultrastick 40/ Use nylon hinges?
Fishingships- You've got a lot of motor there with the 55. Chances are you won't be flying it wide open much. I would try the stock tank first. With the 55 and the stock motor mount you will me sticking a fair amount of lead on the tail. With my .46 and the great planes mount I hope to have none. I guess the stock tail wheel mount won't survive many hard landings, some guys upgrade to a dubro or sullivan. I like to think I can land pretty well when I need to, but I tend to get aggressive after a while and like to try spot landing, carrier style landings, etc.

Ultrastick 40/ Use nylon hinges?
Just getting ready to put my ultrastick 40 together. Should I swap the CA hinges for Nylon. Haven't heard about any real problems on ths model, but I have done this on others. I am a fairly experienced pilot and will likely be throwing it around pretty hard once I get used to it(yes I've crashed my share). BTW, I already know about swapping out for a lighter engine mt and a heavier tail wheel bracket.

RE: Thunderboat speed and prop questions
Thanks for the prop help. I was already looking at the 6717 and will consider the 6518 also. Yes, this boat has the stock motor with the 257. Haven't had a chance to take her back out yet. Whenever I talk speeds with friends, we always talk about straight line speed, but in oval racing trim. This boat right now is not real loose, and is still running the big turn fin aeromarine provided(I plan to try a smaller one). A note on measuring speeds. I have used both a gps and a radar gun, and prefer the radar gun. If your boat hits some ripples just right and accelrates momentarily to a higher than normal speed, that is the only speed you will see from the entire run. If you use radar the operator can see the speed changing as the boat is coming at you and see what it is consistently going, not just a momentary peak.

Thunderboat speed and prop questions
I just got my new Aeromarine t-boat on the water. Just starting to get things dialed in. Lots of tweaking left to do. As of right now it is running about 50-51 on the radar gun with the engine pretty rich. What should I be shooting for as far as competitive race speeds? Right now I am running the X572 they sent me. No mods, just sharpened and balanced. This is my first gasser, and I do not have a collection of props yet. Looking for suggestions on what to try next.

RE: 30 inch aeromarine sprint cat
I don't recall what the cg was with the .46. That was a couple years ago. I just remember that I had to run some down angle in the strut and put some lead in the nose. It would do 50 even running real wet. When it hit some chop and packed the tunnel with air(like you would want for top speed), it would noticeable accelerate, often resulting in lift off. Sometimes it would fly 50 or 60 feet about 4 ft off the water before crashing down. Did land the back flip a couple of times and keep going. Too much retrieving and drying out to be fun in the long run. Oh and I that stuff about the .46 needing a .67 tuned pipe has been discussed on here before. You can search it. The short version is that no one really understand why the manual says that. I have always run with a OPS .45 pipe and had no problems.

RE: Suggestion for light lift slope glider
Wow, thanks for the info. Building skills are not a problem, but time is at a premium. I would prefer ARF. I think I will go for something with ailerons over a 2 channel set up. Not really looking for ultimate perforamance, just looking for something to get in the air with when conditions are light.

RE: 30 inch aeromarine sprint cat
Taz, I stuffed that very motor in mine for a while. It was entertaining, but really to much. Boat would run low 50's no problem. Had to set it up to run flat, and even then put 4 oz lead on the front. It would still lift off and fly quite often. Did some spectacular aerobatics before splashing down. BTW, I don't know how the os46 stacks up power wise to a CMB or Mac, but it is a great running motor. I have mine in another boat now and have put many tanks through it. Absolutely the most reliable, easiest tuning, nitro motor I have.

Suggestion for light lift slope glider
My friends and I have a spot that is perfect for our combat wings when the wind is steady, but it often is light and inconsistent. Looking for suggestions for a glider that can slope in light conditions and maybe even catch a thermal given the opportunity. Prefer that it not be too large, and reasonable durable. We don't have the greatest LZ @ our site.

RE: 30 inch aeromarine sprint cat
I also have one with a cmb ls .21. I can get 42/43 on the radar gun pretty easy on 30%. Aeromarine said I should be able to get 50 if I get it really tweaked out, but I don't see it happening. I can pull an x440 all day long. M440 gets me the 42/43 mph. I have tried an x445 and seen 45mph, but everything has to be perfect to pull it. If it comes off the pipe with the 445 , it won't come back on. Might be able to pull it with 50% nitro, but haven't tried it. Seems like when this boat is off the pipe, it settles fairly deep in the water. Then the prop load is to high to get it spinning up again.

Traxxas Waterproof Servos
Has anyone tried the Traxxas waterproof servos in a boat yet? I see them advertised over the internet, though my LHS has yet to recieve any( and they sell tons of Traxxas stuff). Might be the ticket for those boats with radio boxes that don't seal well and tend to fry servos.

RE: Fuel question...what doesn't smoke?
My friends and I run with heli fuel a lot because our LHS doesn't stock boat fuel and heli is the only one they have with 30% nitro. Typical heli has about 20-22% lubricant where boat is 16-18. Heli is so high because a heli has a constant heavy load(like a boat), and the engines run hot. It doesnt' seem to hurt the performance any and your engine will probably last longer, but it will smoke slightly even when it is fully leaned out.
