RE: Hpi Savage Flux XS
that thing looks nice i may get one once someone offers it as a roller on ebay. it seem to be equipped with a castle sidewinder sv2 with the new casing castle is comping out with next month to integrate a fan. i was told buy a castle tech it will be around 15.00 upgrade. seeing i already have a sv2 and a bunch of motors and receivers sitting around the roller will save me a few bucks

RE: mamba monster temp question
ORIGINAL: Foxy I thought the cutoff was 170...
that what i was told by members here but i called castle and talked to a tech and he told me 220 i was rather surprised because i shut down my 1/10 esc at 150 just to be safe. . the tech told me 150 to 190 is normal temp range for a MMM on 6 cells 2200kv

RE: mamba monster temp question
ORIGINAL: savagecommander simple answer- gear down.
easy answer: im already geared at 14 pinion 51 spur on ofna gtp2 that way down compared the most using 19-21 pinions as recommended. here is another question will the mamba 2200kv 4 pole help the esc run cooler over a feigao 540XL7 2382kv 2 pole but it is a general question about fan turn on not a gear question

mamba monster temp question
i was wondering if i can get some input the mamba monster. i call the tech and asks a few questions about the cooling fan. the question was at what temp does the fan come on and they said 150f and the esc heat cut of was 220f. now i was looking for some real world info i notice my fan come on within a minute or so meaning it hitting 150 rather quickly never cut off on me though. could i find out how soon does there fan come on running 6 cell lipo 2200kv on other users on the mamba monster - flux systems thanks

RE: thinking about this motor
i going to use my mamba monster that i got in there. im just unhappy with the 7xl i have now a few years ago it was a good motor for what was out then but now i could get a better motor cheaper then i spent 5 years ago. i leaning to the 2400 now because if i want insane speed i can run the 6 cell and if i want to some parking lot bashing i can run my 4 cell. i not warring about reducing the life of the motor running it on 6 cell for 61.00 a pop i can replace it with killing my pocket book

RE: Take a look at this video !
waterproofing a esc is not hard to do and the motor even easier with a can of spray rubber. what would be cool is if someone made a track that had a water skipping section

RE: LiPo doesn't hold charge? help!
if it is getting hot in 5min and draining out in the same time most likely you have a dead cell with high internal resistance im guessing it was run down to low to many times. the esc cut off works ok to save you from killing you lipos but a little more protection will go a long way. i run lipo alarms on mine just to make sure i dont run it to low there about 2.00 on ebay and will save you money in the long run. it will also keep it from being over charge if you using a cheap non balancing lipo charger link http://cgi.ebay.com/7-4V-14-8V-RC-Lipo-Battery-low-voltage-Alarm-Indicator-/270658077401?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f047a82d9

RE: thinking about this motor
the motor you link it nice and a good choice but not to much different then i have now. i did some measurement on the ofna motor mount and the 44mm motor will fit but will be tight and will clear everything. i might have to cut a out the chassis a little under the motor to let a little air in simulator to a 1/10 on road like a tc4 or something. just need something that will run cooler then the setup i have now. leaning to the 1800kv now thinking it would be a better 6 cell setup then the 2400

RE: thinking about this motor
yea i seen his vid about tacom and i have a one already but i am just trying to figure out what one will be best for my ofna gtp the 2400kv and 1800kv. i am running a mamba monster and a 6 cell lipo . ii know the 2400 is faster but i think i could gear up the 1800 and run cooler temps and have a little better run time. the Feigao xl7 i am running has been hitting 72 mph but heat has been a problem for the esc and motor not really terrible heat around 150 but im think the larger motor would do a little better

Surprise another review on a product Thunderbirdjunky has never tried I guess he can just look at a pic and know how much better something is then another. I heard it said once and i guess i will say it this time if you have no experience with a product you should not post 20008 post of half truths and conjecture .

i have one of them in my brushless ofna gtp is a great servo for the price you wont find a better one for under 40.00. the name brand servo i have in the car before would not hold a line and would be hard to keep in a line on fast turns but this one does well

RE: Brushless TC4 Subaru STi WRC
i have been running a similar setup for about five years on my tc4 [ but on 3 cell lipo] you wont need to stock up on diff rings as they never go out. you will need steel out drivers and alloy cvds in the back the plastic ones will wear out fast with a brushless motor the plastic out drives it the front do ok but it would be ideal for you to the front as well. foam tires are optional i run only rubber and never had a problem as long as there the hpi belted x pattern tiers they seem to last well
