RE: Need help on my new build - throttle and servo jittery
well the servo is fine until i give it throttle and when it finally starts to build rpms then the servo has a mind of its own. i have a new rx coming today and i need to check the esc parameters to make sure its not a nicad.

Need help on my new build - throttle and servo jittery
Hey guys, havent been around a while but im working on a new build and im having issues. I have a turnigy 125 amp marine esc with no bec, a ubec, and a 2845 watercooled 3600kv motor. the servo is a traxxas 2055 and a traxxass 2 ch 27mhz tx and rx. http://www.valuehobby.com/product_details.php?category_id=41&item_id=344 - motor http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=15133 - ESC http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=10312 - SBEC Now what happens is when i try to give it throttle it will either turn real slow even at full throttle or i can get it to start revving up but then the servo starts moving on its own. now its not even in the water yet. so im wondering if any of you guys have an suggestions. even when i get it to start allowing me to rev the motor and turn ill put it in the water but it will only go 5 ft and then shut off and go into the limp mode. if you need a video i can get it up.

RE: Looking for a couple cheap 40amp btushless esc's
see i really like that one. but you cant use nimh battery with it. you can only use lipo which i dont have right now. unless im missing something. i love hobby king. that is where i got my brushed esc for 7 each. im buying my motors there. i just couldnt find a brushless esc in 40 amp that will run both kinds of batterys for dirt cheap, lol. im buying 2 of each so doing it on a budget right now. but if this one wil work with other batterys ill be down.

RE: Pics of my new twin Jet drive boat - 2 mini jets
heres a lil update after i could finally take it into open water. i was kinda happy with it, but not. i would say it was doing between 8-10mph on the water. my other boat does 10mph with a gps. so it wasnt to bad. the rudder did ok, but i want to try the nozzles now. run time with the batterys were about 15 mins before it started to slow down. as for them performing where the drives are, they worked great. no issue besides on a real hard turn. once i get some better motors it will be nice. the 2 600 did ok, but def need more power.

no there not spooling up. they are bogged down and not enough power to make them go faster. i would have to add more battery to make them speed up and then i still wont get the results i want.

RE: Pics of my new twin Jet drive boat - 2 mini jets
i already have 2 speed 600 on this thing and it goes nowhere. i was staying away from brushless because i just didnt have the cash to drop over 100 on motors and esc's. so i went with the 600 as that is what graupner said they recommend. so i seen the 2 300 and thought with less weight and a lil more rpm she might do it. but i think i need to find something that will spin atleast 35k or better.

well i took her out last night with a 7.2 4000mah battery that dumps 30 amps to the motors and it was horrible. it was barely moving in the water. what is the deal?? do i need more volts?? 2 batterys?? i just dont know. its kinda dishearting thinking it would do alright but to not even come close. what do you guys think?

RE: Home built jet drive boat help needed...pics
Not sure why it ended up so heavy. When all the mechanicals are removed the hull is very light. The addition of the speed 700 motor, esc, receiver, jet drive and battery puts it up there pretty quick. This is actually all balsa with several layers of fiberglass so there's not much more I could've done to keep the weight down. Removing the fins and the trim tabs will help a bit. I added both those items as a result of several conversations with a friend who's the 'know-all' when it comes to jet ski's. He was the one that suggested the intake lip, the fins and trim tabs. I guess jet ski's and jet boats are not as similar as we thought. This is the first boat I've ever built so it's definately a learning process as I go. I bit off more than I can chew for my first build but the knowledge I gained was well worth it. The next boat is already on the drawing board and half built. It won't be nearly this big so I'm hoping it's a bit easier. I really appreciate all the help, I'll do everything suggested and see what happens. I'll post a video if I can get it to go.

Home built jet drive boat help needed...pics
my coworker built this boat from scratch. he is using a 40mm scale jet drive by graupner. the boat weighs around 10lbs with everything in it. We tested it today and it hardly pushed any water out and were trying to find out why. he is using a speed 700 with 11.1 lipo. here is the boat. let me know what you guys think.

Tell me if i have this right - Need info on brushless esc
Ok, im looking at going brushless. i have 2 motors that will be driving 2 mini jet drives. im looking at some 2200kv motors that run about 25 amps. now i want to get away with 1 esc if i can. im looking at getting a 60 or 100amp brushless esc that can handle over 14 volts. i want to run the esc to both motors and run a 14.4 lipo o nimh battery to them. so it will send 7.2 volts to both motors right?? so my question is will this work?? or quite being a cheap skate and get 2 esc to run 7.2 packs.

Video - Rocket Motor on my boat
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=farnOMi-5Z4 well some insight on this. me and a coworker work out of town ALOT, so we find stuff to do to kill time. Well he is also in rocketry where he makes his own propellant. so we decided to make a plate to put on top of my boat. this motor is a 29mm motor. after the big flash you will see i had no control b/c of all the thrust. once summer comes around again we will be experimenting more with some bigger stuff. i hope you guys enjoy and get a good laugh out of it.
