RE: Anyone get an email fro Dave's Motors
I would guess that they would expect DDM to do to Losi what they did with FG. DDM took the FG line and ignored the MAP pricing by putting them on ebay and selling with no reserve and selling them below what they charge to dealers. They also did the same thing to the HPI baja. They as a distributer and retailer forced the shops out of selling by charging dealers one price and charging them for shipping. Then selling to the public for the same price to dealers but giving the public a free pipe. This is the main reason why you see far less large scale dealers and a lot of local shops not carrying the large scale. The market was spoiled. eventually you will only have one place to get what you need and we all know what happens when there is only 1 person selling an item.

So he was robbed, big difference from steailing. Especially when it is armed robbery. I am sure it will probably end up trying to be sold on Long island or North Jersey to the local hobby shops. YOu should contact them also as there are not many of them.

RE: Differences between 2 FG Beetles?
Both the beetle and the MT are the same platform. The MT has different side plates and the tires. Gears are probably different. Besides that you may need some body posts and a different front shock tower.

Probably 95% the same, you may need different body posts for the truck body.

RE: Differences between 2 FG Beetles?
The monster beetle is a marder with the bigger tires and the bug body. The off-road beetle is a marder wtih the bug body and the undertray. The body is a different version of the bug and will not work with the monster tires unless you cut off the fenders. If you want to convert the beetle, you will have to remove the undertray get a new body and wheels. Probably will need different body posts also. May be cheaper for you to just get the Monster Beetle up front.

go with FG Supply. Talk to Angel there. He is the 1/5 scale guru. Big Boys doesn't really stock cars so he is just going to order it from FG Supply since they are the distributor. You will probably save some money and shipping time getting it from FG Supply.

RE: Rampage XB-E
I converted all my batteries and the buggy to deans plugs. I could not find the plugs on hobbykings site. Just seemed easier and I had a few charging squids so they already have the deans plug on it. I bought the 6 battery pack deal too and I also have the hitec x4 charger so you can charge 4 batts at once. Now I have 8 batts total so I should have very littel down time due to the batteries. I also am changing out the motor to this one: Castle 1717-1580KV. They are on clearance for $70 on castles site. Should improve speed a bit. RE: My First FG
At one point about 3 years ago. Zenoah could not keep up the supply needed by Fg so there were about 200 vehicles that were built with CY engines and shipped to the US. Never heard any issues with them back then. Also, if you are looking for parts, try www.fgsupply.com. They are a distributor and most small dealers don't stock parts and order them from fgsupply after they receive an order. Talk to Angel there, he make have a spare stadium tire and rim for you.

RE: 5th Scale Brushless Buggy RTR
better products out there for this kind of cash
You are missing the point, this is large scale, yes you can get a revo or any other 1/8 scale. some of us just want largescale. I had my fun of playing with the 1/10 and 1/8th scales. The larges scales in my opinion are more fun. Why is everyone so gunned about the speed. With the size of these large scales, 35mph is pretty fast considering the size of these. The stock gassers are about the same. If you are racing it, it is more about take off speed than top speed. I have not seen many tracks that you can get to top speed with the large scales for a period of time that it matters anyway. This thread was not started to argue over the price of the buggy. Do you think if HPI created a large scale electric baja, it would be lesst han $700? I highly doubt it. look at the 5tsc, same chassis, a slightly different body and a front and rear bumpers for $130 more than the original 5T at DDM and they are giving a free pipe with the 5T. How is that justified?

RE: 5th Scale Brushless Buggy RTR
I pre-ordered one to try out. Unfortunately for me, here in Jersey, there is very limited space to run large scales, all the land that is around here is either farmland or is land that is under construction for warehousing. You get about 3 months of time to run on the warehouse land before they start building. We have a huge park here too but the cops stop you after 1 person complains of the noise from my gassers. I admit gassers are fun and I will keep the ones I have. But the brushless is interesting to me. I know it won't be silent but I may be able to get some runtime in the park now with the brushless. Plus no smoke so it should keep the cops from kicking us out. As for the price tag, it is not bad considering what I spend on my Savage flux to convert it to larges scale: Savage flux $550 tcs crawlers flux 1/5 conversion $150 proline 1/5 tires and rims $130 that is $830 right there before batteries and the upgrades needed to handle the 1/5 scale size (shocks, body, etc). After dropping that much, $700 for a large scale brushless with lipos is not bad. Plus if you look or ask around, you can get them cheaper. The 1/8 scales do not compare to the 1/5 scale when it comes to size. a 1/5 scale coming at you at 40 mph appears a lot faster than a 1/8 scale coming at you.

www.fgsupply.com should have parts if not. It is pretty much the same truck as the smartech titan so you should be able to find parts for it between those two names.

RE: What do I need for my FG
If you did not get a RTR you will need the following: giant scale servo for steering: Go with the hitec 5755 or Hitec 805MG. For throttle, you do not need anything high speed. The hitec 645mg is good because it has enough torque if you upgrade to front cable brakes later. You also need a 6volt receiver pack. Go minimum 3300mah pack As for the truck, first thing I would get the following right away 6439 alloy gear holder- the plastic stock one will melt out pretty quick (if yours comes with the steel spur gear, then you don't need this) alloy rear upper arms - these will stop the flex and keep your spur gear from stripping out. for hop-ups I would go in this order: pipe front brakes wheelie bar alloy front uprights.

Looks very nice. Why not go the next step and replace the place ball joints to steel or alloy ones? This would not only make it look nicer but also make the steering linkage a lot stronger.
